What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 47 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (56 of 68 positive).
Players praise the route's length and variety, from high-speed express to stopping services. [1][2][3] Many reviewers note missing or outdated rolling stock, especially the Class 801 and HST. [4][5][6][7] Some players report bugs like missing scenery or a speed limit that breaks scenarios. [8][9]

The route is great and most of the scenarios are really good involving many stops between London and Peterborough. But I give this a negative review because as usual the devs made a grave mistake that they never bothered to fix; the single HST route has a random 15mph limit that appears on a small section about 30 miles in right before going back to 125mph, this single mistake makes the route literally impossible to …

As routes come for Train Simulator, this is the dream! High-speed express services non-stop to Peterborough out of London or a stopper service hopping along, stopping everywhere. The variety in this 76 mile route - brilliant! Comes with an East Coast HST (outdated) and a First Capital Connect Class 365 (outdated), the one drawback is that unless you use re-skins, this route is permanantly set in about 2014. Mind you …

100% Would recommend. I bought this DLC not realising it was one of the classic routes, but didn't notice as the detail and quality does not look like that of 2013. The 125 Set included is of better quality than the European Loco & Assets pack 125 set as the audio and physics of the train are much better. Overall, a very good addon, worth the price as not only do you get a good route but you get th likes of the …

this route is the best value for money route in the game £15 for 76 miles of track and massive variety of scenario opportunity for this you've got the ECML Fast Services non stop to Peterborough stopping services to Welwyn garden city freight services semi fast services to Peterborough its all there two down sides of this route is the biggest one is the missing scenery on the Hertford Loop second is the rolling …

Great route, although a few bugs and pretty outdated. The actual thing is great, but the eastern bore at gasworks tunnel is still inactive, and a few bits of scenery is missing. Also the class 801 is missing, and anyway, the livery is inaccurate. I'd recommend you get the alan thomson sim LNER reskin. Because the class 365 is the only other train apart from the HST, the range of AIs that run are rather bland. If you …

Players who liked Train Simulator: East Coast Main Line London-Peterborough Route Add-On talk about great value for money with 76 miles of track; those who didn't talk about class 801 missing for some buyers. Which matters more to you?

Next go back…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Sunday! When I was younger I used to play Train Simulator game.... The Microsoft one! And there a route that I download from the defunct UkTrainSim and want to experience this line for myself! Be out at the normal time of 5pm
neutral · AI labelView post →The Train Simulator game should not have such an emotional soundtrack, I should not be on the verge of tears listening to its soaring crescendo
positive · AI labelView post →Get it with the Great British Journey. Unfortunately the Class 801 only came along with the GBRJ, but couldn't be found in my TS2020. Could anyone tell me how to make the 801 come back? Posted on July 18th: After I reinstalled the whole Train Simulator again, I surprisingly found the 801 is back on my list! It appeared that you have to reinstall to get the Class 801 if you don't have it. Be aware to check this if you want to buy it. Follow the instructions above if it does occur.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This sounds like the Train Simulator of driving games, which I'm sure there's a market for. I think it could have more mass appeal without compromising the vision if you included a set of in-game goals like visiting various landmarks, obeying (or disobeying) road rules, or whatever else.
neutral · AI labelView post →Nice 70 mile route if you like crisscrossing some of the busiest lines out of London plus long stretches of 125 mph zones to max out the HST or 91. Ideal route for local and express scenarios when having AP 313, 365, 43, 66, 91, 170, 156 packs

neutral · AI labelView post →[Deep breath] In the early 2010s there was an uptick of interest in German-style "job simulator" games. Flight Simulator and Train Simulator have been around since the mid-90s but things like Farm Simulator started to take off. And some eastern European game publishers smelled money.

neutral · AI labelView post →I love how they revealed that they're porting Dead or Alive 6: Last Round forward with more dlc plans for it BEFORE saying they're working on a DoA 7. DoA 6 is like the fighting game Train Simulator it has thousands of dollars worth of dlc LMAOOOO
neutral · AI labelView post →A pretty solid route with plenty scenarios and locamotives!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I purchased this route to make the Superalbs Class 801 work. Upon looking at the "readme", it said that I needed this route. I looked on Steam and purchased this route for £4.99. Then, when I got it installed and looked in Train Simulator, it said that it is was the East Coast Mainline from 2013 and NOT the route advertised. I am not sure if this is an issue with my Steam, but I am very unimpressed with the way that Steam and DTG can do this. BE CAREFUL WHEN BUYING THIS ROUTE!

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked this Route. Although I don't have one, but I used to play this route on my brothers account. It takes you from the urban side to the countryside which is fun and good at the same time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its really good for money. Also if u have some east coast dlc's it works well and when i do the trainspotting scenario in standard mode its great watching trains come and go from the stations on the line. WELL WORTH IT!!! :)

neutral · AI labelView post →For my Random Game Saturday, I have Train Simulator Sagami Line which is still sealed in its box! The Train Simulator series predates Densha de Go and very likely inspired Taito's series. The TS series used video of view from the cab played back at different speeds for its graphics.

As in, you aren't just playing an interactive pre-recorded video anymore, you actually need to pay attention. I'm already so bad at this game, now I'll be worse xD

neutral · AI labelView post →Was trying to find the most expensive train game on steam. It's Train Simulator 2024 and it's not even close. $15k in dlc is CRAZY
negative · AI labelView post →Train Simulator actually pre-dates Densha de Go by about a year, and those master controllers they made for the series are absurdly elaborate. The original Master Controller which had a console version had a replaceable gear box on the controller so you could make it match the train in game.
neutral · AI labelView post →Just know that if you want this plus more, go for the Great British Railway Journeys + TS DLC bundle and then refund just GBRJ. Due to an oversight, you'll keep the DLCs for Train Simulator that were included in the bundle and still get your money back.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have the Flying Scotsman then this route is for you. There is lots of detail, plenty of scenarios and the 801 comes with it now. Once I downloaded I had the scenarios that came with it, but after a few hours coming back to it, I suddenly found 10 extra Flying Scotsman scenarios. The 'speeding' warning come up before I reach the next number of miles-per-hour, but I can live with it. If you like having a go at building or editing routes then this route has a split in the line with one…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh boy it's that time of year where Train Simulator World forces me to download 500GB of DLC because the devs have released a new version of the base game and hate the idea of forwards compatibility of downloadable content that hasn't been changed since release.
negative · AI labelView post →This has become a frustration to me because x-fests used to mostly be organized around gameplay mechanics instead of abstract game objects. It's a component of steam's discoverability failure for me personally because there's no overlap between Denshattack and Train Simulator- the fest is just noise
neutral · AI labelView post →*Cough* Train Simulator ... With all the DLCs, it's the game that cost the most on Steam at the moment
negative · AI labelView post →Hilariously @shelleycook.bsky.social the Buenos Aires Train Museum has a Train Simulator game you can play from the 1925 Prince of Wales desk. I got my Train going but I could not stop it and left all my passengers at the station. That tracks.

Extremely disappointed. Update I finally have the 801 but had to manually move the 801 asset folder to my TS dir beware!!

neutral · AI labelView post →yeah, having said, that I did once watch a streamer play Train Simulator (to see if a DLC was worth getting) and had to close it because I was getting too mad at how they were describing simulation elements in a game-mechanic-y kind of way with no understanding of what was being simulated.
