I've played and beat this game in one full sitting (okay, a few bathroom breaks and snackies too), completing all the sidequests avaliable. So I've decided to make a detailed review which can hopefully maybe answer some questions as to if this game is worth purchasing and all. Note that this is coming from someone who overall likes the world of TRON, my only experience with it are the movies (TRON and TRON: Legacy). …

I'm 41, I've been playing games heavily since I was 5 and this is my first negative review ever. I never thought I would be using words "Tron game" and "boring" in a same sentence, but here we are. It took me 5 minutes of reading, 10 minutes of running, 5 minutes of reading again and 10 minutes of running again to realize that this is it - there's literally nothing more to this game than pointless reading, pointless …

IT's clear this is an independent studio game. That said, I love the Tron universe, and this story was decent. There aren't many upgrades, but this is more running around the different worlds, getting through different puzzles, and fighting a very limited number of enemies. I know it seems like this should be a no, but honestly it was a fun game. The voice acting was great, and I really just loved running around the …

So... While I'm recommending this game, it's just barely. There's nothing really wrong with the game, there's just also nothing special about it either. Everything implemented in it has some sort of issue that brings it back to mediocrity. Examples: - The combat has multiple attack types for variety, BUT there's no challenge. Mashing normal attack will do the job almost always. For more difficult fights where normal …

TL;DR; if you are a Tron fan, do get this game. Otherwise you can skip it. The premise is very interesting, and I got the feeling that the game could have lean into the looping mechanic and be a lot more interesting than what it is at the moment. If you are a Tron fan, driving a lightcycle across the city and just walking around in the grid makes it worth is. Besides being in the Tron universe, the game does not …

Players who liked TRON: Catalyst talk about great Tron atmosphere and visuals; those who didn't talk about combat feels repetitive and unchallenging. Which matters more to you?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Tron: Catalyst received "mixed or average" reviews from critics, according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. Fellow review aggregator OpenCritic assessed that the game received fair approval, being recommended by 35% of critics. IGN said it is "a nice, restrained palate cleanser" but they "wanted it to be a bit more" and that "it could’ve been something special." Eurogamer says the game is "a sleek and polished labour of love that revels in its license and building on it in interesting ways." They also stated that although it is a budget release, "there's nothing thrifty about its vision for the continuing adventures of these aggy, angry little computer people." Push Square…

I am so proud of my team, and excited to be continuing our adventures in the iconic universe of TRON. Wishlist now! store.steampowered.com/app/3025590/...

Having now escaped from the Grid, I'm looking for the next challenge to take on. TRON: Catalyst launches June 17th - this month! More of my work is at natclayton.uk

neutral · AI labelView post →i don't think we should blame daft punk for making a bangin movie soundtrack and accidentally giving the tron franchise its second artistic shred of merit it has ever enjoyed in 40 years. we should blame the 2003 pc game Tron 2.0 for doing that the first time
neutral · AI labelView post →Have spent the day playing the new TRON game folks, and I’m happy to report it’s very TRON.

positive · AI labelView post →Here it is. I just uploaded a repack of Tron Evolution, the prequel tie-in game for Tron Legacy that was delisted way back in 2019. It's working offline with both Securom and Windows Live DRM fully disabled, just install and play, enjoy. gofile.io/d/C0xbwe

neutral · AI labelView post →First impressions. This is no Aliens Dark Descent, it’s a soulless licensed game I’m not a casual fan. I grew up knowing of Tron back when it was nothing more than an obscure Simpsons Tree house of horrors joke. I played the Monolith classic Tron 2.0 back in 2003, brought all the tie in comics for that game, enjoyed the 1982 film, played Kingdom hearts 2 SOLELY for Tron. Come legacy I was there throughout the entire marketing cycle. I brought the prequel comics; I played Tron Evolution on both…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me "Tron 2.0" is still the best Tron themed game. Catalyst has a stylish "modern cinematic Tron Universe" setting, excellent art style and fitting soundtracks, good controller support and good story with some twists. Features the same boring "fight for freedom" story and the clichee "strong independent female" protagonist with the typical funky new art hipster hairstyle- which is nowadays boring as hell for me. Next bad point for me is that the isometric levels / map is non-rotate-able and…

neutral · AI labelView post →As a fan of the TRON universe, Movies, Series and all the games (Tron 2.0 the most) - I wanted to like this game. The top down camera and character designs were great but the combat felt lacking and controls on keyboard felt clunky. Wanted to play more but didnt want to miss the refund window because i wasnt sure I would actually continue to play it. Would only recommend this game when its on sale.

It's exciting to be back in the Arq Grid after the events of Tron: Identity, and continuing the story started there. + Combat feels juicy and impactful + World is lovely if a bit empty feeling. + I enjoyed being able to use light vehicles. + Good voice acting by the main caste. + I love seeing all the settings created in the Legacy movie and elements invented for Identity (such as the data trees). The Bad: + Man that combat…

neutral · AI labelView post →Tron Catalyst is great and really immerses you in the world with its art style, soundtrack and even the UI feels great. The combat is fluid and should fit right in with anyone who plays any type of hack and slash/top down perspective. The story telling is a treat with some awesome and vivid artwork during conversations with other characters and the ability to ride the light cycle around the streets is a cherry on top <3

neutral · AI labelView post →It's got good art, voice acting, and music. Sadly, gameplays feel a little stiff and not really fluid. Combat does have a flow to it but kinda feel repetitive and "meh" at times. You do get a huge health pool, but but the game is little too punishing if you die and can send you a far way back. You don't really have an incentive to explore the world outside of upgrades. Most conversations and interactions don't use voice actors and instead is just a script of dialogue. When characters do…
