While I really wanted to like this game, I grew extensively frustrated especially near the end levels. The resource system is needlessly overcomplicated and the micromanagement aspect is tedious rather than encouraging you to get creative. Time limits do not allow to even "brute force" levels. Badly designed objectives and resource restraints on specific levels create an endless loop of suboptimal scenarios that you …

Normally whenever I play a game that has wonderful aesthetic but plays like sh*t, I toss it into the trash so fast I often can't even write a review - less than 5 minutes. Style can make or break a game, even a citybuilder/management sim, and in this case it definitely makes it. Gameplay-wise, it's a bit clunky. There aren't that many buildings and improvements though, and when you get swarmed by monsters, it gets a bit annoying to watch all their …

So the game is definitely broken in many ways. I think reading about how broken things are is a spoiler in itself, so consider skipping to next paragraph. Tutorial is confusing and half the instructions appear too briefly to read. Press Space or Enter means Enter. Press Any Key means you Enter. Don't get me wrong, it's a passable amusement. But it's also simplistic with unexciting mechanical design and nonsensical writing. It's a turn based strategy game that recommends you play it on a forced turn timer and I, despite loathing that on principle, think it's probably not actually a bad recommendation. You've got a bunch of buttons to possibly push every turn, and some of them you really will likely push every turn. Each of your staff has three triggers, most of which are…

Stylish and Unsettling... if a Little Clunky Three-Minute Video Review: https://youtu.be/WETQT_5nfec I’d argue that Anoxia Station—a claustrophobic cosmic horror/dieselpunky kinda turn-based survival strategy title—is at its best in small doses. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. On the contrary, at the end of each of Anoxia Station’s six hour-long levels, I felt a sense of satisfied accomplishment at having successfully navigated my station of sad, subterranean denizens through…

Anoxia Station is a turn-based strategy with a blend of psychological tension, set in an alternate 1988 where humanity clings to existence in the depths of a toxic underground. The core of a game revolves around resource management and tough decision-making. Every turn is a struggle—oxygen depletes, sanity wavers, and monstrous threats lurk in the darkness. The game excels at creating a suffocating atmosphere, with its "analog horror" aesthetic (think grainy CCTV footage) and eerie sound…

Grid-based deep underground resource extraction/exploration sim. This game is all atmosphere, and an incredibly slow burn if you're going in blind. Very atmospheric and very moody. I enjoyed it a lot. It is a little bit on the short side, but I think the pricetag is appropriate when you take into consideration the quality and length. The gameplay misses a lot of quality of life features you would expect, but it sortoff fits the mood and the immersion of being a ragtag band of miners. Makes you want to remember which buildings you built, their abilities and when to use them etc. Given the small scale its not overwhelming and while mildly…

Nice entertainment for just approx ten bucks and worth noting - a fresh one. Interestingly taking on the strategy genre, quite an inspiration from Frostpunk is obvious. However, gameplay-wise, Anoxia is a turn-based game and the team's budget was obviously waaay lower - therefore, the game lacks polish unfortunately. It's playable for sure, and I found it interesting, hopefully we'll get it developed further. Pros: interesting setting, writing, heroes abilities, some gameplay elements, vibe.…

The most notable thing about this game is the atmosphere, which is quite oppresive and haunting. I finished the game on normal (the easiest diffculty available) with timer enabled, the early game was a bit chaotic but everything become quite managable from mid game to late game. I am not familiar with this genre so I can't comment how hard it is compared to other similar games, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

That's the first time I've ever lost a game to the sound design... There I was, in the middle of an industrial emergency -- klaxons wailing, safety valves blowing off -- when i realised that it was all mixed in to the music score to make an industrial sound scape. So busy was I digging the vibrations that I fail to note the death timer, in a turn based game! Really? That's pure evil xD What a unique way to go -- 10/10
