A Factory of Flaws I truly regret having to give this game a negative review, yet I find myself unable to do otherwise. River Crow Studio’s Corpse Factory is a paradox both fascinating and frustrating—a work that radiates ambition, passion, and technical polish, yet ultimately collapses under the weight of its own storytelling missteps. In terms of presentation, it is exceptional: sumptuous anime artwork, a haunting …

hard to get past the horrible way they wrote the female characters. "I stood up, happy to at least not feel any added weight to my hips" after eating is insane work... feels like the writers don't actually know any women other than what other men tell them

If you found a website that allows you to request somebody's death, would you do it knowing that they could actually die after your request? All you need is a photograph and the phone number of your victim. Corpse Factory is a well worth ride from beginning to end, despite losing its own plot a little past Act II. It has lovely art, very nice voice acting, and a really good OST that I’ve had on loop since I finished the game. You may have to look the other way at a few plot holes to enjoy it, as realistically the story wouldn’t progress if the police were actually good at their jobs. But that never dampened my …

Odd VN. Has amazing music, voice actors, and a lot of intriguing plot ideas. The prologue has an amazing hook, and the first act is genuinely creepy as far as horror VNs go. But it falls apart after the first act and becomes a hot mess for the last 40% of the story. I can recommend it for the vibes, music, and VA work, but I'd stay away if you want something with a coherent story. I simply think they tried to …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Soz, I Will Start My Villain Arc Now! I can't believe how much reviews this VN have, this deserves more exposure! this is an epic potrayal of criminal psychology, absolutely well voiced (Yo Zenitsu's VA) and well written. The music is to die for literally. Did this remind me of Hell girl and Death note? Yes a bit! but it's not like it completely! Story: Descending to madness You follow broken people in this VN, many POV's are given in 3 acts. Noricrow Crowsawa (jk) your average corporate…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Art: decent to pretty good, with the exception of some small perspective problems. Music: just okay, kinda creepy sometimes and kinda out of place in some 'dramatic' scenes. Voice acting: most of it is good, except for the security guard whose lines were recorded inside a dumpster with a 2 dollar mic and every choice made for the most annoying character (Junpei) and the second most annoying character (Shinya). Writing: HORRIBLE. TERRIBLE. AWFUL. Feels like it was written by a 15 year old who…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It gets good The urban legend says that you can leave a request for the Corpse Girl to remove someone you hate, attaching only their photo and their phone number; they will receive a picture of their own corpse just before death. Well... honestly, the legend hasn't been getting much traction, and the site gets like 3 unique weekly visits, but it's worth a try, right? Even if they don't die, they'll surely get spooked enough to give you some satisfaction. It's all fun and games until you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it was good in the beginning, but later it got predictable (mostly). also everyone is insane.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this story is about an unstable mentally ill anorexic young adult woman with a disgusting fascination for other people's pain and suffering and that's exactly why i love her so much. she is utterly insane and so is the story and i am enamored with both. we need more silly girl representation in media.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Corpse Factory has a cool, dark concept, but the writing really drags it down. The dialogue feels stiff and awkward, and it’s hard to take the horror seriously. A lot of the emotional moments don’t hit because the buildup just isn’t there. The pacing can feel slow with long chunks of exposition. It’s not terrible, but it definitely needed tighter writing.

Pros: - really faithful and vivid mental ilnesses' depiction -the narrative/a fun and edgy idea for a story -partial voice acting present -the ability to watch all the endings without the need to replay the game (thank you!) Cons: -it's a VN so I knew what to expect BUT there aren't really many choices ( I think a total of 3 for the entire game) -the absurdity of the story growing throughout…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Corpse Factory is a violent and thrilling visual novel that has great characters. The game starts out slow but got so chaotic towards the end. I love that there is great voice acting and clean UI, making the whole game easy to follow. The art style is amazing too. The story was exciting to follow through till the end as well. Definitely recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →CINEMA. ABSOLUTE CINEMA. It's not the most perfect game, but it has a special place in my heart and it was a genuine pleasure playing this and sharing this game with others. I am so glad I bought this, and I yearn for something similar to this in the future!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the voice acting and visuals are pretty cool, the story is awfully written. The detectives can't solve even the easiest mystery. The characters take the stupidest actions, and most of the time they feel soulless... except for Kojiro, though. He's pretty badass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story goes Downhill Hard after Act 1. Really Sad since i really liked Act 1. Every single potential target character was just wasted too. Only thing this story made me think was how bad it was and how good it could have been.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the type of game you should play if you are tired of everything on the vn market and how it has gotten worse lately. Characters are realistic, they have their own struggles their own grudges and own ambitions and mental disorders like every other human does. and this makes them even more realer and more deeper than even some people I know in real life. The Writing is just something I have never seen before, I don't know much about writing visual novels but I can just say that they have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overview An underrated indie psychological thriller visual novel with striking visual art, a gripping premise, and emotionally volatile characters who spiral deeper into paranoia and obsession. The narrative explores the power of social media, the fragility of identity, and the dark extremes people will embrace in pursuit of validation and revenge. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting idea, cool presentation, but the story unfolds in a way that starts making less and less sense as it goes, and some twists and reveals make the world feel smaller rather than larger. Do check it out if you're curious, but don't expect it to be a master piece of any sorts.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally got around to playing the gift that I got for Secret Santa!! The whole concept is already pretty macabre, but what really makes it work is how grounded it feels. It’s less about shock and more about watching people slowly lose themselves, like you’re seeing their sanity slip bit by bit until there’s almost nothing left. That quiet descent is what makes it so unsettling. I’ll be honest, I did guess quite a few of the plot twists early on. The story gives you enough hints that you can…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I couldn't fix her. Or any of them for that matter. This was true misery pron and it really scratched an itch in the "uncomfortable horror" genre. Kudos to the cast who really brought the characters to life in this title. While it was overall visually stunning at times, there were plot holes here and there along the way, however these over-sites didn't really ruin my experience. It could have used a few more drafts but the writing style isn't bad by any means of the imagination. solid 8/10 in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game started off good then gradually went downhill. It’s nothing horrendous but not really worth purchasing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →god awful story is a understatement. I can suspend my disbelief, but this game is just disbelief. the plot is all over the place with more plot holes then i can count, I am baffled how people enjoyed this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Corpse Factory. In some ways the game is hit or miss, but when it hits it definitely hits. Apart from the horror aspect, this game also very accurately depicts what having certain disabilities is like (to the point that it helped me realize my own aggorophobia and other traumas).

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought Corpse Factory because I like VNs even if there aren't many choices (this game has 3 total) and it seemed to have a unique concept but it's just so all over the place. It feels like someone had a good idea but not enough time to properly conceptualize it before putting it into writing. So I read the whole story including all endings and it leaves me with one question: Why? I feel like there's just so many things unexplained but at the same time it's not open enough for a sequel.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's alright, if you don't spend any of time outside of your room. Suspension of disbelief was not a factor in the writing here, nobody in any culture at any time in history acts, or would react like the characters in this story. Everything that happens in this fragile experience relies on an ever-rising house of cards, built on crazy plot convenience after convenience. Those cards toppled multiple times for me whilst playing, the obvious effect being that I did not care what was happening by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've noticed that the older I get the less patience I have for VN. However, CF has a great story and great characters. I did not expect liking this VN as much as I did.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just feels like edgy teenager fantasy, as written by said teenager. Noriko(MC) VA is pretty good, others pretty mixed and sometimes annoying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed CORPSE FACTORY's morbid premise despite the number of plot holes that most people should come to naturally ponder without thinking too critically. If you’re not too big of a stickler for details, I think you can look past the inconsistencies and appreciate the psychological horror thriller CF tries to be. There is a heavy focus on psychological elements and interpersonal relationships which ultimately become the driving force of the story. The writer did a fine job with that, but I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look, I'm a huge sucker for a compelling premise, and a murder mystery that seemingly borders on the supernatural grips me harder than a coconut crab's claw. That is why I really, really, REALLY wanted to like this game, but was thoroughly disappointed. Going off the game's description, a website named "Corpse Girl" exists to request the deaths of someone that the site user chooses. The victim receives a picture of their corpse an hour before their death, and their death mysteriously comes to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Death Note esque VN about Noriko, who fulfills requests to cause people’s deaths through a website to try to grow her notoriety as “Corpse Girl”. The premise is interesting through its first act and the internal dialogue for the characters is pretty good, but sadly the plot kinda falls apart as it goes. I liked Kojiro so didn’t mind Act 2 shifting to his perspective, but the twists and jarring progression for Act 3 were bad honestly. Ending in general felt like a huge drop in quality compared…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can totally get some of the other reviews saying that the VN fell off towards the end and feels rushed, or tries to do too much. That being said, I still thoroughly enjoyed all the twists and turns that corpse factory offered, and I think so will you.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game first of all, quite different from what i expected but honestly, much better than the idea i had of it. Its first a novel with voice acting than a game, wich in my opinion is great, but if you want a conventional VN this one is not very interactive (but has multiple finales). The characters are the center piece of all, wich in most stories is true, but in this one are basically the whole story, there are quite good pay offs to information and in my opinion it wraps quite niece in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This VN is so edgy and chaotic that it's honestly charming lol. It has a nice concept that got me hooked really quickly and kept me invested until the end but towards the second half the story kinda turned into a chaotic mess, at some point it felt like the authors couldn't decide which plot twist to choose so they just included ALL of them at the same time lmao. I decided to perceive the game as a horror/mystery-comedy (kinda like those horror movies with bad acting that are more funny than…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very edgy. The characters are edgy. The plot is edgy. The endings are very edgy. I cannot tell if the true ending is supposed to be the good ending. The so called hell ending is supposed to be the bad ending, but I feel like it gives a better ending to the story (because of more edge). Were the developers in a rush when finishing the game? I hope so because all endings bring more questions than answers. The story is very predictable and full of full of cliches. Only a few…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute game about crows, pretty sure theres another visual novel attatched too
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game starts off promising with an interesting story during the first act. Then starting from the second act, the plot turns into complete nonsense with a bunch of twists that feel forced rather than natural. The game sets up a supernatural tone at first, but then tries to explain everything with realistic motives and most of those explanations just don't hold up. There are so many plot holes it's impossible to make sense of them. All the endings are awful and don't even give a logical…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are aspects of the game done well such as addressing mental health problems but overall the story isn't well done past the initial hook. Setting is very strangely surrealistic as they try to address avoiding consequences yet there are glaring plot holes that would need to be addressed. A shame as fully voiced English VNs are rare,
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad writing, plot holes and you have to really crank up your suspension of disbelief to be able to enjoy this... which is not ideal for a VN, since in this genre the narrative is the core of everything after all. Presentation, VA, music etc. are pretty good, though. But that doesn't help much when the core is rotten.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was not good it was poorly written, plot twists and developments come out of nowhere, characterization is weird (the gal character in particularly is rather offensive), it requires you to suspend your disbelief so hard to even take it seriously but for some reason I kept reading and I think I enjoyed it? but despite all my problems, I found the game entertaining so I'm conflicted over it if you keep your expectations in check and are able suspend your disbelief then the game can be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reviewing (mostly) every game (or DLC) in my library, part 60: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (9/10 stars) Corpse Factory is a psychological horror visual novel drenched in dread, obsession, and one of the most compellingly unstable protagonists in the genre. Set in present-day Tokyo plagued by a disturbing rumor—a website that lets you request someone’s death—it spirals quickly into a stylish, brutal descent into paranoia and delusion. It slowly peels back the rot behind social alienation and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story started off so interesting and compelling and then it just copped out. Soundtrack is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stellar though. Kojiro is what kept me in, best written character
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Facts Corpse factory is a fun game that’s full play time is around 5 hours. Most of the game is fully voiced acted in english. there is not too many characters and a tight knit cast. there is not a lot of choices throughout the story however the choices you do get are not always easy ones. opinion Personally i find this game very underrated and think it should be more popular. If you like true crime, and visual novels i highly recommend the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I MANAGED to finish it. Just 3 choices throughout whole game so it more of hold/click button to read text. Art is really nice but most of times you'll be forced to look of snapshots of office, rooms etc. with no characters in frame. Most of mysteries around the plot could be guessed before happening. Overall just mid game. It got lot's of potential but it failed to deliver.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could be the only visual novel game that I've actually never had a "this ♥♥♥♥ is so boring" moment while playing. The voice actors fit the characters really well and are able to show you the real emotion behind the words. The writing is intriguing since there basically aren't any unnecessary scenes and in every scene, something regarding the story's proccess is happening. No matter what you think or predict about the next scene, the game constantly finds a way to get you surprised, either by…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad. Not often you get fully voiced English VNs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This might not hit the right genre for you based on the games you mentioned, but I feel like a lot of visual novels have that setting without horror. For example: 999, the Zero Escape games, Danganronpa, maybe AI Somnium Files as well can be creepy at times, CORPSE FACTORY
neutral · AI labelView post →really enjoyed the story and the plot twists that came with it. not a fan of act 3 and the finale though (っ- ‸ - ς)

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not the biggest VN fan, thoroughly enjoyed this one. It's dark and macabre, and leans heavily into trauma. There's part that are a little silly in a B grade type of way, but I dont think it takes from the overall dark charm, along with the good VA ( I was bummed it was english only, but the VA's did it really well) made it a very enjoyable experience. I got it on sale and I think that helped me enjoy the value of it.
