What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 170 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (3,064 of 3,469 positive).
Players praise the game's dark humor, clever writing, and unique art style. [1][2][3] Many reviewers note that the game has game-breaking bugs, particularly the shaman bug, which the developer has not fixed. [4][5][6] Some players find the puzzles challenging and the narrator's voice overly dramatic. [7][8][9]

I love this game, but since it has a game-breaking bug (the shaman one) that the developer has refused to fix for years, I cannot recommend the game. Very disappointing for a game that felt like it was crafted with love until I've seen the dev behave this way.

Edna & Harvey Harvey's New Eyes is one of those rare point and click adventures that sticks with you not just because it’s funny, but because of how cleverly it balances humor with something much darker underneath. Honestly, I’m glad I played this before its predecessor. I wasn’t a big fan of The Breakout, and there’s a good chance I might have skipped this entirely if I hadn’t come in fresh. That would’ve been a …

I am about a third to a half way through Harvey's New Eyes, and can already tell this is a recommended game based on my likes. The game is adorable, hilarious (dark and witty humor driven), and also disturbingly intriguing. I have had zero performance issues with the game so far, giving me a problem free gaming experience. I absolutely love the voice overs and voice acting. The music is also a hit. In all, this is …

A charming little chaos simulator where a polite schoolgirl accidentally becomes an agent of mayhem. The puzzles are fun, the humor is dark and the art style is peak Daedalic weirdness. A few solutions feel like they were designed by Harvey himself, but overall it’s a good time. [7.5/10]

First playthrough review time. The drawings in this game are very clean and have a handmade look that stays nice to look at. The music and the voices are good, but the man telling the story talks a lot and his voice can be too dramatic. Since the main character is quiet, the story depends on this narrator, which might be hard to listen to for a long time. Most of the puzzles are easy to figure out by clicking on …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FREE OF SPOILERS: As much as I enjoyed this game, it's completely unacceptable to encounter a well-known and VERY COMMON glitch in a point & click game that completely prevents progress, especially after being a game released for over a decade by a very much alive studio. Lots of people like myself will spend many hours trying to progress before giving up on a level by searching up spoilers, since that defeats the fundamental reward of progressing through a puzzle game. The glitch I had was a…

In Chapter 2, you’ll enter the Western Village dimension twice. As you’ll get there for the first time to learn how to drink alcohol, SAVE right away in the separate save slot, this back-up will help you not to lose your entire game progress in case you…

neutral · AI labelView post →Just barely misses the positive review mark. A bit of a letdown when compared to the previous game. Length is about 12h. Lots of missable achievements. Graphics, animations and music are fine. Voice acting is good, all the voices from the previous game are present. Solutions to problems are not too far fetched or difficult, so you won't get stuck. It has a few puzzles that require process of elimination and a few optional mini-games that can be skipped. Some negative things that stand out:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Encountered the game-breaking bug, and since I try to avoid walkthroughs, wasted so much time trying to figure out what went wrong. I found out this bug has been around for years and still isn't fixed. I stopped playing as the frustration was topped with the fact that the devs never bothered to fix it, so why should I continue to play a game they clearly don't love. Can't recommend with the bug still around.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The bug in ACT 2 prevented me to fully play the game. I'm unable to ask a shaman about deodorant and defeat a Vendigo to progress the game further. I watched some videos what to do, but is seems like there is no option offered me, we can only talk about smoke signals.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is incredibly good but there seems to be a known bug that makes you stuck without the option to progress ( shaman bug ). The studio and the developer know that but they don't fix it. This is not acceptable at all. Imagine getting stuck because of the bug and wasting hours of your life, thank you for that... not okay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have you ever tried Daedalic's Edna & Harvey games? You absolutely should. They're the very definition of demented, especially the second game. The first one's like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest meets Calvin & Hobbes. The sequel starts jerking you around from the start of the intro narration!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edna & Harvey: Harvey’s New Eyes – Review Edna & Harvey is a strange, often buggy, and undeniably unconventional adventure. It’s innovative and clearly intelligent, but it also demands a lot of patience — both to follow the story and to deal with its puzzles. The writing is sharp and clever, with moments of genuinely dark humor and originality, but the narrative isn’t always easy to digest. The pacing can feel awkward, and the game sometimes struggles to clearly guide the player through its…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edna & Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes is a standard Point & Click game and I believe a loose sequel to Edna & Harvey: The Breakout. It was included in a Daedalic Entertainment bundle that I bought on sale. The game has tons of dark humour, creepy story, wit and decent puzzles. On the downside, it's buggy af at times. And it's a chore to 100%, tons of annoying achievements that require you to mindlessly repeat a task or talk to a NPC over and over. I'm going to give it a very lukewarm…

neutral · AI labelView post →Game breaking bug that took me way too long to work around, several other bugs like the screen going gray all of a sudden, subtitles suddenly changing language, alt-tabbing ramps up GPU usage to 100%, it's just bad. Other than that, the story is not that good, puzzles make little sense and the game tries way too hard to be funny. The ending was extremely underwhelming as well. I got this game for dirt cheap and it's still not worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Truly a masterpiece! This was one of the first games I ever 100%ed, if not the first, back in 2016-7 and probably one of the few I finished all the way back then. The art in this one looks even more fitting for the Edna and Harvey world than the first one and the whole atmosphere feels amazing. This one does feel more linear, however, and in a way kinda smaller in the sense that you never get that feeling of traversing a huge place as the asylum in the first game, maybe in some ways because you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Desperately want to kill tutorial's guy voice over and the narrator's together with whoever was writing these "jokes". Other then that not much to complain about ♥ Did they fix the bug? There was a bug in chapter 2 I recall, oh well we are bout to find out, don't see any patch notes...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good and fun story narrative, very simillar to their other projcet - Deponia franchise. So, if you like Deponia story this is the same goofy staff. But also the same engine, and I'm prone to have this kind of bugs in every their game I play, so this one was not exception. My advice, be aware of this bug and save a lot in different save files. https://steamcommunity.com/app/219910/discussions/0/1744479698807254062/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The overall gameplay is okay. The artwork is peculiar, not for everyone. The music is rather nice. But the game is meaninglessly violent to children. I don't like this type of humor.

neutral · AI labelView post →Overall fun and worth it and without spoilers there's a unique function to the game that's really tedious. You can't use or combine certain objects without using the function. It's the main concept of the game but it can feel really counter-intuitive. I'd say give it a shot because the game is still fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"A town of weirdos, a rabbit with an attitude, and me… doomed.” The game isn’t just a point-and-click adventure — it’s a pixelated circus of small-town weirdness, talking plushies with attitude, and puzzles that make you question if logic ever existed. The game politely reminds you from the start: your choices might matter, might not, and either way, Harvey will roast you. The art style is gloriously over-the-top. Characters look like they belong in a caffeine-fueled cartoon that’s just…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just finished playing the two classic Edna & Harvey games! the first was alright, but you could definitely tell it was Daedalic's first game. the second was something special though. it reminded me of Deponia with how dark the humor can be, I loved it.
neutral · AI labelView post →Still has game breaking bugs that prevent completion of the game. The only solution seems to be hoping there is an older save or using ones the dev's provide because it's been a known issue since 2018
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4) Edna & Harvey: The Breakout A chance purchase in a second-hand video game store brought me endless hours of joy. Few games have clicked with me like this did, replete that it was with countless little details and all manner of silly despite the relatively dark subject matter.
positive · AI labelView post →An absolute gem of a game and on sale for only $2 right now. If you love dark humour, witty writing, a whimsical art style and the nostalgia of the point-n-click games we all played as a kid, this is the game for you. I played this game when it came but forgot most of the story details. AM I GLAD I FORGOT because, my god, this was a delight to experience with new eyes (GEDDIT) for a second time. It touches on a lot of darker subjects like abuse, loneliness, how we as a society treat children,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely love this game! I've played this in German when I was about 8 years old because my mom played it and I was curious so she let me play lololol and it obviously traumatized me but I still loved it and the English translation is amazing too because usually translations of jokes aren't really funny but in this case they still managed to keep the humor in which is just great! The only downside is that the part with the shaman doesn't work because a dialogue option is missing and it seems…

You guide the shy schoolgirl Lilli through a tough time at the convent. Only her imagination helps her to escape from the strict rule of Mother Superior. But when her best friend Edna disappears under mysterious circumstances, Lilli has to rise above her own and face a tough journey to not only get her friend back but also confront her subconscious fears. I really loved the Soundtrack and the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a shame that Harvey's Eyes is the last game of the series. Edna & Harvey just had such an amazing charm, it's a shame we'll (probably) never seeing another installement. Either way, it's nice to replay these games. They're super fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a point and click game, this one is somewhat okay. In the beginning it was even fun for the most part. The story is whacky and different, the humor is good and the maps not overly huge so that walking around is not as much of a pain as in other games. But, Edna& Harvey suffers from the typical issues most point&clicks have: backtracking and often getting stuck because you don't know what you are supposed to do next. In addition, there are MANY very grindy and time consuming achievements…

From the atmosphere, to story, to humour, it all gives off that Flash games vibe, which I find nostalgic, but its definitely not for everyone. If I had to describe it, its like a very PG version of Gretel & Hansel flash game and those old German fairy tales, with a mix of Tim Burton artstyle, and a bit of Psychonauts vibe? Althought not sure if this game…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short, but lots of fun, provided that you like dark humor. The point-and-click operates on Daedalic's signature cartoon logic. Relatively simple compared to something like Deponia, but far from too simple to be enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the game. The pure dark humor and the nostalgic feeling (cuz I watched the gameplay of it online like 5 or so years ago) were enough to get the game when it was on sale. I recommend having a guide nearby. Not for a walkthrough, but for the sake of not getting softlocked.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I adore their Deponia games, so I wanted to try Edna and Harvey after The Whispered World, but that game was a bit of a letdown, so I stopped with Daedelic for a while. Might try Edna & Harvey after all.
