Edna & Harvey: The Breakout is made in the style of a classic point n click game, with witty characters and moon logic puzzles. But that doesn't make it a bad game, rather the opposite! Genuinely charming point and click that had me grinning way more than expected. Edna is a great protagonist and Harvey the bunny is basically the whole personality of the game, unhinged little guy, love him. "Edna & Harvey: The Breakout" is a Point and Click game in which you play as Edna and Harvey. You guide a Edna and Harvey on a whacky attempt to escape from her padded cell. They experience a bizarre journey all across the insane asylum and far beyond its brick walls. On the way you meet a whole lot of people which will help you to get out or try to stop you fom it! First playthrough review time. The game uses a button system for every action. Most games just give the same short error message when you do something wrong, but here, the characters almost always have a unique thing to say. The controls are mostly fine, but sometimes you have to click things in a way that does not make much sense. There is a button to show everything you can touch, but since the drawings are very simple, it is usually easy to see objects anyway. The art looks like a very…

Product not supported on Linux. I had bought it when I was running Windows and hadn't tried to play it until I switched to Linux. I contacted Daedalic support and *after a month of waiting for their response* was finally advised to use the fan Discord for support or to buy the Anniversary Edition which is supported on Linux. I think I won't be buying any more Daedalic products after that.

Relatively short game, however I've learned it was developed originally as a University project, so let that slide. All-round pretty good fun, interesting story and characters. Occasionally a puzzle can be a little too obscure, for example needing to arrange a table of peoples meals in such a way that you can start food fight with no real clues. However, overall would recommend for a nice little time-killer.

The puzzles can be a bit random sometimes, but that’s kind of part of the charm. I really liked the hand-drawn art style and the dark humor. I don't know if I've ever played a game before that has something unique to say about each different combination of items used together. I mean most point & clicks will have some default generic message, something like "I can't do that" or something like that. But that was very rarely the case here. This is a standard point and click game. It's older, so it has some issues, but the gameplay itself is pretty solid. My not recommended is primarily because I don't like the characters and I don't feel the need to keep playing. It was whacky and fun but I got stuck and no amount of guides had the solution so I went and played Skyrim instead or something (can't remember since it was a long time ago but that's what I usually do) but if you like point and click games and have the patience then you'll probably like it. It doesn't hold your hand and you need to keep track of what you've done and NEVER take a break from the game or else you'll come back and have no idea what to do - that's what I did I think. 💩

A thoroughly enjoyable Point and Click Adventure! Funny and cute throughout. Although most puzzles have clues and are relatively solvable, a few of the puzzles may be obscure enough to need a walk through. I used one a few times, and it did not detract me from enjoying the story and the rest of the puzzle solving. It has a great ending. Definitely worth a play. I'm looking forward to playing the sequel and other Daedalic Point and Clicks.

The game has mindblowing amount of actions (use, take, look, speak, the same actions with Harvey) and it is really interesting to listen to all possible funny dialogues. The plot is interesting as well, not super special but still decent. Truly a video game masterpiece. Music is atmospheric mostly but there are several really nice melodic compositions.

I actually liked Edna as a protagonist more then Lily in Harveys New Eyes, and not just because Edna actually talks. Edna has this sort of weird kid vibe, that doesnt feel like a caricature nor feels too undercooked. I KNEW a girl like Edna in Uni, so I think Breakout succeeded…

I never seen an ending to a game that made my blood actually feel frozen until this.
