What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 273 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (13,180 of 17,656 positive).
Players praise the core dungeon-crawling gameplay but say it's best enjoyed with friends. [1][2][3] Many solo players find the experience miserable due to long queues and a toxic community. [4][5][6] Some reviewers note the game lacks content and has questionable monetization. [3][7]

Really do enjoy the game, but the toxic kind of community that it cultivates will be its downfall. Not going to refund but the sheer amount of negativity I have come across in just over an hour of playing is remarkable. If you do purchase this game, Id recommend making sure you have some friends to play with, otherwise you might not find much enjoyment. If you read this, remember not everyone is a hardcore gamer and …

TL;DR: DO NOT BUY unless you have a full 4-man team ready to go. This game is not designed for solo players looking to progress with matchmaking and PUG groups. The game itself is good. The gameplay is straight to the point. Nothing new but in a good way. Let's be honest here, we are not looking for new stuff. The devs didn't need to reinvent the wheels. We are here for the cut-to-the-chase M+ gameplay without all …

TLDR: The game is incredibly fun, but it’s currently a "bring your own friends" experience. Amazing foundation that is being held back by a lack of new content and questionable monetization priorities. I love this game and I want to see the player count grow, but it’s becoming difficult to defend the current state of development. The core gameplay is incredible—if you’re looking for high-skill dungeon crawling, this …

Otherwise great gameplay ruined by its extremely barebones matchmaking system and player psychology. The expectation is you can queue any time, at any role, at any level, with or without a group, and you'll get a fast match, and you just go do a dungeon. The reality is that you sit in queue for upwards of 10-15 minutes for a match, the other 3 members all choose the hardest…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honest review incoming. I know some of you will flame me, and honestly… go for it. I’ve followed this game since day one of the announcement. I genuinely thought it was going to be epic. Spoiler: it’s… not that epic. At least not yet. From the very start, you get slapped with the cold reality that if you didn’t play WoW — like I didn’t — you’re basically screwed. The game assumes you’re coming in with a decade of WoW muscle memory, dungeon instincts, and skill rotations already baked into…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn’t see any of the movies but this title is really not trying. “The Fellowship of the Ring,” that’s trying. “The Two Towers,” man cmon. “The Return of the King.” Elite titling game. “The Hunt for Gollum” you basic ass bitches. Not a Tolkien stan but that dude should haunt your asses for this
negative · AI labelView post →Game is inaccessible to new players going in without a full party. Bought the game, invited my friend, waited in queue for half an hour. Seems like there is 0 or little incentive for higher leveled players to fill out the queues to help out the newer players, and with such a small player base this will kill any influx of new players. Needs immediate attention or game will die instantly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun - only with a pre-made group. so maybe 5% of population... Everyone else dont bother and i cannot recommend it - this game attracts all the toxicity of Wow players and game developers have absolutely no systems to deal with it - no blocklists, no penalties. God forbid on a 2nd day of EA release someone forgets a boss mechanic or worse yet - doesn't know the mechanic - at least 1 person will insta-rage and quit. This game needs some systems to deal with these…

No punishment for leavers on groups and NO way to VOTE disband for a punishment free group disband.(that would be necessary if a team decides they simple cant complete a boss. However currently you spend 2-10 minutes in que just for people to leave the group on 1 boss death. Just now 1 guy died on boss i immediately combat rezzed him and another player left before they could even see that. 15 minute dungeon and 8 minute que…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately I cannot recommend this game unless you have a static group to play this with. The toxicity in this game is surreal. Playing solo is borderline impossible. As someone without WoW experience, I have to learn how to play this game. In my opinion the player onboarding is not really there and its just rough. I have struggles with understanding how to properly play a tank or a healer. I dont want to also go and check different sources for hours to learn how to play the game if the game…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reviewing to help the ratio. People were bombing this over day one server stability, as if a team of 35 is supposed to have a more stable launch than billion dollar corporations can manage. Servers seem fine now, the game itself is fun, this game doesn't deserve a "Mixed" score over launch day issues *every* online game has.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horrid community. Just a place for WoW neckbeards to throw tantrums and not be punished for doing so
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This comment will change to positive once the game implements 2 things: 1) putting players on Ban/Ignore list 2) Behaviour & Communication Score, like in Dota2

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My heart genuinely hurts for this game. It's one that I've rooted for since I played it during Next Fest play test. I've invested time, money, and energy playing and shilling the game to people. I really enjoyed this game and wanted nothing but the utmost success for it, but the amount of missteps the developers took has made this game and my interest for it wane and eventually vanish. That really sucks. Leaving this review feels like throwing flowers at a corpse as I send it down the river.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So here are my thoughts on the game as a World of Warcraft Mythic Plus veteran and Mythic Raider. The game on the whole is legitimately everything I've ever wanted in a game. I play WoW specifically for the two end games I previously mentioned. I don't really care for much else WoW has to offer. I do those things in WoW so I can go raid and do mythic plus because it is required of me. This game is playable out the box. I legitimately love this game. I don't really do steam reviews and I have…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played thousands upon thousands upon thousands of hours of WoW and FFXIV in my lifetime. Fellowship distills the core gameplay of either of these titles (or any of the many other MMOs like them) and cuts out all the extraneous grindy bull**** for the FUN grindy bull****. Any number of reviews will detail how Fellowship is "Mythic+: The Game" and that's essentially right. The biggest draw here, rather than sticking with WoW (aside from avoiding Blizzard out of principle), is that you…

If you publish your game on Steam, then launch the f**king game through STEAM. I don't wanna see your stupid ass b1tch ass stinky garbage lame launcher bullsh*t when I hit "Play". Either launch the game immediately or f**k off. Phew, okay, where was I? Game good. Great even. Very addicting. Now I don't have to pay for WoW sub to run M+ all day. Update: oh wow they actually removed the launcher. Good…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game with tons of potential, but the devs refuse to fix the broken queue system that's killing it. Here's how it works: You queue up and get matched with 3 random players (1 tank, 1 healer, 2 DPS). Like every MMO dungeon finder, DPS queues are oversaturated, so you're waiting 10-15 minutes just to pop. Once it does, you enter a "vote" on the map—majority rules. Everyone can see each other's dungeon rating and item level (ilvl). Tanks and healers, with their instant queues, exploit this:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is good. It runs well. It is mostly bug free. The gameplay is smooth, clean, and well executed. I have no complaints at all about any of that. The bones of this game are REALLY solid. The reason I don't recommend the game are two very specific reasons: 1. There just isn't enough content. I get that this is EA, but it feels EXTREMELY lean. There are 8 one-boss dungeons, and 4 bigger dungeons. The 8 one boss dungeons are re-used at every difficulty just with some added mechanics…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has the most toxic community of any game I've ever played. Players constantly leave instances mid-run, are extremely hostile, and have zero patience. It's the worst of MMO players combined with zero social or game repercussions for being toxic and anonymous. Fun game with 4 friends, otherwise don't bother.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2h queues, the devs and the communities advice on how to deal with this?.... go find friends on discord. Am i the only one who doesn't like going outside the game to play the dam game? if i have to go to discord to find people to play with it defeats the entire purpose of me playing this to begin with, i want to play alone, login, queue, play, move on with my life. Don't let the copium of the discord community lie to you, this game is loved but completely dead, you need to MANUALLY go find…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not new player friendly in anyway. The toxic playerbase requires you to breakout your Level A hazmat suit. If you don't have a group you already play with absolutely do not play. If you never play WoW do not play this game, you cannot succeed or progress unless your play is perfect with a team of strangers. You have to interrupt enemy actions over and over and over and over coordinated with players you've never played with before. Its an insane ask for anyone that expects to queue…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun dungeon crawler, if you like WoW M+ or wanted to do more dungeons without the inbetween or dailies this is a great game. Now let me be clear, there is still grinding in this game, as they do keep the loot chase a live and you will be grinding item level up for 50+ hours a season until your max. It does require re-running the same dungeons over and over again, the game currently has 8 Adventures (Mini-dungeons with 6-10 minutes of trash followed by 1 boss fight) and 4 Capstone…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The short version: Bite-sized dungeon runs. Fun with a premade group of friends. But, beyond the initial difficulty tier, the game becomes functionally unplayable for solo queue. The long version: It’s a bit like driving, really. Let’s be real. There’s a lot of bad drivers. They’re too old, they’re too young, they’re drunk, they’re on their phone, they’re driving a broken car, their kids are screaming, they don’t know the rules, etc. Let’s say this is 25% of all drivers. On the other end,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First dungeon i joined, everybody left after finding out i dont have a mount yet.... i was the tank btw ^^ Gameplay seems fine, but there is no penalty for players quitting the dungeon at any time. Asked in game chat if thats normal behaviour, "more often than not" was the answer. Also no way to restart the queue? So dungoen progression just gone.... Refunded, pity seems to have potential.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fellowship is marketed as a WoW Mythic Plus alternative. I would encourage you to view it more like a dungeon simulator. The gameplay is exactly as advertised, tab target combat. Select a hero that you like the look of, take them out on an adventure to get a grasp of how they play and queue with 3 other players to take on a dungeon instance. Complete dungeons to earn gear and materials to make said gear more powerful. Take your rightfully earned (gear)power and challenge the Capstone to…

Fellowship is exactly my kind of game, you log in, hit queue and jump straight into dungeons. No boring questing, no endless leveling, no “apply and get rejected” stress. Just pure dungeon spamming fun with randoms or friends. I love that everything just works too. You don’t need macros or weird setup stuff, mouseover targeting is already built in if you want to use it. I played Sylvie as a healer in the beta and had…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game, but I hard disagree with the resets. Just learned they're going to reset characters soon, so lost motivation to grind gear for my characters. Seasonal resets aren't unheard of, but I don't believe this game benefits from them. 1. It removes the fun/incentive to gearing out multiple characters because of the time it takes for people like me who don't have a lot of time to play 2. If people try to join mid-to-late season, (just like once human) you don't get a lot of time to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy Fellowship when I'm playing with friends. The combat is fun, the encounters are engaging, and there's a solid foundation here for players who enjoy cooperative PvE content. Unfortunately, the biggest obstacle to my continued play isn't the gameplay—it's the community. I've spent a lot of time pugging Fellowship, and I've been surprised by how quickly routine mistakes in learning-level content turn into hostility. Constructive feedback is one thing; that's a necessary part of any…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game looks great and plays well — the visuals, spells, and character design are impressive. However, at the moment it’s almost unplayable because there’s no penalty for players who leave dungeons. Every time something goes wrong, someone just quits, and the entire run collapses with no way to continue or refill the team. After about an hour of play, I couldn’t finish a single dungeon because of constant leavers. I’d be happy to give it another try in the future if they add a proper leaver…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My experience so far: 1st dungeon: You start without a mount, which is a great design choice when everyone else got one AND doesn't care. By the time you catch up to the group, they are already at the final boss. Very immersive. Other runs: Same experience, except now you have a mount, so you can keep up with the team that doesn't care about anything except ending it asap. Progress! Queue times are nice and long too, really gives you time to reflect on your purchase. And when you finally get…

That's why I will give this a positive.... With that said however, this game came out less than a month ago and has some of the most toxic people I've met... the game intro goes a bit like this: > Pick up Fellowship > Running through Tutorial, read everything what's going on > Get excited! > Choose a nice class that appeals to me > Let's go - Clicking the Quickplay Icon…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're playing with friends, this game is probably fine. If you want to go play with randoms though? Get ready to spend hours fishing for a game because people just keep leaving the lobby for one reason or another. Or if they don't like the way the run is going, they leave as well. Enjoy wasting your time. I wanted to simply grind the 10 dungeons per class to unlock the Halloween skins, but couldn't even get through that because of how much of a pain it is to even get patient competent…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After several months, I unfortunately have to say that the game has not lived up to its potential. The issues with the community were never properly addressed. The developers added activities to do while waiting in queue, but they never solved the core problem that was driving players away in the first place. Content updates have also been underwhelming. Instead of providing meaningful new content, the developers chose to reset every player's progression. They have also stated that further…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fantastic game with an absolutely miserable playerbase. Unfortunately, I don't know if that is fixable. I think the entire premise of this game is that the developers believedthat the fix to Mythic+ is to remove the key scuffing mechanic and if you did that, the players would have less reason to be toxic to each other. This is obviously not the case. As long as they hold to this false conception of the range of human motivations (for instance, getting your entertainment from…

The dungeon design is fun, the combat has weight, and coordinating with a good group scratches that old MMO dungeon itch better than most modern games. Then reality hits. This game is being strangled by its own seasonal structure and timegating systems. Every season follows the exact same cycle: Launch day hype. A massive spike in players. This game has the worst matchmaking that i have ever seen and it breeds so much toxicity that it managed to surpass WoW. The servers are a big mess but hopefully will be sorted in time. As of now i do not recommend (as a tank player) it feels horrible to pug any kind of premade and i would rather wait until they reach the very obvious conclusion of letting their players choose actively what they wanna do.

If you are another 12 year old who expect an early access game with 35 devs should work absolutely perfectly from the get-go you might be disapointed but if you don't mind getting what you actually paid for, an early access game that is in development which it clearly states when you purchase it it's deffo worth picking up.
