[4][5][6] The game is considered a good value for its price, especially for fans of the genre. [7][8][9]

Point 1: I am a dad gamer. Point 2: I read the negative reviews and they are valid - repetitive, some classes are too OP, etc. Point 3: But because of point 1, this game fits me perfectly. If I wanted something deeper, I would play PoE. oh, the price point is nice too. Cheap AF! Buy it, AoE everything, see big numbers, then close the game and go about your day. Recommended!

It's okay but I don't see a reason to pick this up over Vampire Survivors or Halls of Torment. Character builds are really rigid so every run feels the same, and repeating the same 4 stages gets boring quickly. Also had some performance issues on Steam Deck. I like the boss fights and enemy designs (which are clearly ripped off from Dark Souls), and the Blood Maiden character is quite cool. Fine as part of a bundle …

KEEPER'S TOLL is a great mix between survivors-like and ARPG. It features a wide cast of classes and features the same key features of a survivors-like, that means, plenty of mobs, in-run merchants, ton of attacks. It also incorporates ARPG elements very well with unique bullet hell bosses, limited healing potions and a minor quest system. It is more challenging than most in it's genre, which is a good thing. …

As someone who plays a lot of games in this genre this one is decent, the idea is there but execution is not. I hate posting negative reviews as I think every developer that even tries to make a game should be compensated for it, but this game lacks the type of power reward you get from other ones. 8.8 hours into my playtime and I still don't feel like I'm any powerful despite having almost 3 characters talents maxed out. I will definitely change my review if patches come along that make…

I've been playing this quite a bit since its inception in early access. This game is satisfying to play, and does a pretty good job standing out in a sea of VS-likes/Bullet Heavens. The meta-progression loop is pretty simple, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I enjoy the missions that pop up in this, as I tend to favor the VS-likes that have more going on within runs like that. It can feel dull to just sit there and play an auto-battling build simulator, which this game avoids quite well.…

Keepers Toll 7/10 It's okay! I like the Monk and Archer. I find it hard to recommend this because the game lacks actual content. I play a ton of this genre of games. Overall this game is okay, but I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone. I hate to write a negative review as the dev clearly put effort into this game and has done a decent job with updates. I really enjoyed the art and the soulsbourne style world. Some of the skills are pretty satisfying as well. Unfortunately the gameplay and mechanics are a bit lacking compared to other games in this genre. The movement and dodging is kinda clunky. visuals good. balance bad. (bloodmaiden is the strongest, archer, pyro, summoner the next best, and monk and bogatyr are absolute garbage at least early & mid game especially if youre unlucky, and im talking about kindled runs) hate that theres not enough rerolls, the choices are kindah bad most of the time. its kind of a torture to 100% it. having to grind xp (maps) to unlock the full potential of each class to do kindled runs is extremely unfun. while the knowledge makes sense in this case,…

Keeper's Toll is well made game with some drawbacks. Yes, it's basically Vampires Survivors' clone, but it plays a bit differently in a good and bad way. The good is that it has cool characters. Every single one of them plays very differently from each other. I like that. The bad is that their skills are not very build defining. Most of the time you choose the exact same skills for your runs, because only a few of them can actually get you your wins at the end of a run. Pyromancer and…

A dark fantasy "bullet heaven" game with nice detailed pixelated graphics and good soundtrack. It mixes things up by introducing some characters that are mechanically different from the usual and one another (e.g. the ninja with fighting game-style directional inputs, or the necromancer that attacks with undead minions), some quests to progress into the game and curses that give negative effects but also boons if you manage to survive them. There's only 4 maps (and the last one is a lame small…

Fun and well polished. There's a surprising amount of content for a small rogue-lite. It's well worth the price for the 10-20 hours you can grind through each character and talent tree. Once you build up any one character, it becomes significantly easier to level the rest (And more fun to play the less splashy ones.) I would only ask for more ability to see stats as it seems like half of what you can upgrade cannot be seen (e.g. Crit damage increases are not shown).

No offense to the developer since they clearly do care, but it becomes obvious after a few hours that the game lacks replayability or a unique identity beyond the superficial soulsborne homages. There's six classes to choose from, but class design is all over the place with a couple classes clearly standing far above the rest, which is unfortunate because they're also by far the most boring to play. I suspect the developer is afraid or unwilling to address this since so many players play this…

This thumbs up is given in advance. While the core gameplay feels good, there are many areas that need improvement. 1. More skill variety. Currently the only change you have from run to run with the same character is the order in which you pick the same skills. 2. Mid-game balancing. The permanent progression is scarce and doesn't really give you an edge in combat in the way it does in better titles. Needs expanding. Also, the later buffed enemies are way too spongey for the genre they are in.…

As much as I'd like to like this game and it's "borrowed" inspirations from other titles, the core gameplay loop is tedious and boring compared to competitors in the same genre. Poor UX (weird aim, lackluster skills and pause when loosing focus) with horrendous balance on top of that are not helping.

I've left a review previously stating I had really liked the game. After completing it, I have to say i was left wanting. The story doesn't really make any sense (not that one is needed in this type of game). But the 3rd boss is way more badass than the final boss... The final boss is very underwhelming. Regardless the game has a great skill tree and progression is very fun! I do wish there were more levels.

The aura of this game was that it stumbled backward into being a survivorslike. It seems like it was trying to be a combo of like, a diablo-ish wrpg and an action roguelike, only to realize that you kind of end up VS-adjacent at that point and then doing that, and the result was that it just didn’t feel like it was sure what it was doing. Unlike in most VS games, characters don’t have a starting weapon and unique stats, but their own entire weapon and skill set. This means, first, that they…

Somewhat mixed feelings on this. Some characters are fun, some are less fun. Ranger, Pyromancer and Blood Maiden were all good, with Pyromancer being the most overpowered of that set. Meanwhile, I managed to max the Bogatyr while being consistently unable to beat the hard version of the first level. As far as a genre, it's half a Vampire Survivors-like and half a skill-based action roguelite, and as such isn't a particularly good example of either, lacking the overpowered screen-clearing and…

Needs serious UX work, some in-game level-up rewards/options are clickable but do nothing, there's no mouse over info over several buttons and skills. Action feels floaty, ex: you can speed up during an attack, but the char animation speed doesn't. Also needs audio design attention, it's messy during the game, each phase should feel different. Doesn't feel unique, in what intends to do. Hope it evolves in these regards, flow of UI, flow of mechanics, flow of animation, flow of…

Do you have no problem with mediocre pixel art and a repetitive but bumping soundtrack? Buy this! It's a steal. Easily one of the most enjoyable games in the bullet heaven genre. Definitely recommended. It allows for runs where you feel really strong and badass, mowing down a 100 enemies as if they were nothing, while also offering unique boss fights (which is something this genre lacks) and a higher difficulty mode that makes the game tougher but not obnoxious or unreasonable.

It is a rather short but very entertaining game. In less than 30 h you will have done everything but it is still nice to play a bit every now and then. For Fans of Fromsoftware games there are quite a lot of (enemy) designs that will remind of those games. Enemies have different designs and attack(patterns) so there is quite a lot to experience. Despite my few small gripes with the game mainly being runs are always the same and builds don't vary much i enjoyed this. Pyromancer is OP and there's no reason for me to use any of the other classes. The pixel art is beautiful. Not a ton of content but what's here is a good time.
