Some note the lack of quality-of-life features like speedup and autosave. [1][2][3] Online multiplayer is often empty, requiring external communities. [4][3]

Shameless cash grab. Doesn't support ultrawide resolutions, no QOL improvements like autosaves, game over is game over. Yeah sure "git gud" but having to re-trek because you forgot to save is a difficulty that was necessary when cartridge space was limited, which is not a problem now. This has all the problems of the originals. Because companies needed to pad games for length on limited cartridge space, there's …

If you grew up playing these games, Volume 1 of the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is pure joy. And if you’ve never touched them before? You’re about to discover one of the most unique and addictive RPG systems Capcom ever came up with. This collection includes Battle Network 1 through 3 (both White and Blue versions) — and they’ve aged surprisingly well. The mix of real-time and grid-based combat is …

What you gain: - BusterMAX mode, which gives you an instakill buster that helps a lot with grinding and other repeat content - Exclusive event chips and features, such as the battle chip reader in MMBN4 - Online functionality, which is great if you have friends that play or if you engage with the wider community What you LOSE: - The ability to reset to the title screen quickly What's missing: - Speedup. For as nice …

This is....a really nice collection, hearing MegaMan.exe in the main menu is really charming (and he says special dialogs during certains days too) all the games are faithful to their original counterparts with some bugs fixes and the downloadable cards that were only available in Japan. Sadly i must say the collection doesn't have many QOL features which is a shame, also although there ARE online features the rooms …

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Vol. 1 preserves the opening chapters of one of the most imaginative departures the Mega Man franchise has ever taken. Rather than following the familiar formula of side-scrolling stages and robot masters, these games combine action RPG exploration, collectible BattleChips, tactical deck construction, and fast real-time battles fought across compact grids. Developed and …

neutral · AI labelView post →I have such fond memories of this late night. I would just be jacking in all night. Sometimes I'd jack out just for variety but I always found myself coming back to jack in. I would jack in until I was nearly blind thanks to the SP, I'll never forget when I got caught jacking in really late by my parents. But then they sat down and they watched me jack in. We got the whole family involved for years jacking in and out, in and out. Even the dog loved to watch us jack in. The Aristocrats.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Megaman Battle Network for people who haven't played it is Game Boy Advance Nostalgia packed with exactly enough depth in combat and lore that it will leave you wishing it wasn't the jankiest 4/5 game you've ever played. All six times. And they get better, and sometimes they get worse But this half of the pack is what started it all. You gotta play a mid game with 1st game syndrome and then a game people will swear is the best one, but at the end you get a bit of a grindy story mode…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This series holds a very special place in my heart as a childhood game. When I was about 8 years old I was in the hospital with pneumonia. I had my Gameboy Advance and I remember my dad asked me if i wanted a new game shortly after i was admitted. I asked for Megaman Battle Network, and he got me Battle Network 3 Blue. I loved that game as a kid and would go on to play all of the rest of the series. But 3 always held a special place in my heart, and it makes me happy to see its a fan favorite…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 years after it got released, I decided to cave in and buy the games on a sale, the question I kept asking was, what's the point of buying this when the games are very easy to emulate? To be honest, not that much. The Legacy Collection is a port of the games instead of emulated, allegedly, yet keeps the typos and mistakes of the original games, "Load Chaud, Sir." is funny sure, but why is "Shun" still there?. The PvP and trading is an aspect that's cool but I had no one to play with could've…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Game Boy Advance game ported to modern PC. The collection is the first three games. The games share the same praise and criticism. The Buster Max is a good addition to the game if you want to grind less. Weak viruses are boring after you beat the game, so deleting them fast is a blessing. Now for the bad... The game has an online PvP element that sadly does not work with the small player base. Capcom could solve the issue by adding bots or by not splitting the collection into two parts in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →when i was about 10 years old, my family decided it was time for a lot of long roadtrips. I would play this game in such a devout way even for a mentally incapacitated young man such as myself. i would quite frequently have to piss, and not just your normal average piss. this was a disneyland level of piss. despite this i would plow through the game like an insane person due to the wonderful gameplay and action distracting me and i would just sit there pissing myself in a hot car because it was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My friend recommended this to me because I like Mario RPGs and this was the Mega Man equivalent to Mario RPGs. I haven't played any other Mega Man games and I was able to follow the story well enough. It did take me a while to get used to the battle grid, but after that I was tackling bosses with thrice my HP fairly easily.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mega Man Battle Network is one of the best video game series ever! The story is very touching, the gameplay is unique and fun - featuring real time combat mixed with deckbuilding elements and other interesting mechanics, the soundtrack is great with some of the most nostalgic music, and the game mechanics are some of the best I've ever seen (especially the form changes, and the boss rematch random encounters that give special boss cards). The universe the series has built up is amazing, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This kept me sane on the Deck during some very long commutes for quite a while. Blast from the past from the GBA-era and definitely recommend supporting Capcom for re-releasing these bangers, warts and all. You'll probably dislike that you encounter a battle every 3 steps, but it'll also teach you how to be really good at the game really fast. As usual back in the day there is a lot of endgame and hidden content, and some secret combos and mechanics, giving the Battle Network games more depth…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After all these years I'm still in love with MMBN. I grew up playing it under the covers past my bedtime and not a single minute wasted lol. I do wish they would come out with a new one though ik that'll never happen. Great series of games and work flawlessly. If you're hesitant for some reason, don't be. Just buy it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gotta catch 'em all! I know it's my destiny! Pokemon! ... I mean chip...omon?? This game just rocks!!! - alright I do have nostalgia and it is strong with this one. Playing with my GBA and competing with my brother who is gonna catch the rarest chips in the universe. This game is just super addicting and 10 hours I have spent so far was originally meant just small sessions, but look at me going in to the mouth of doom and getting distracted from my adult life. I need a break to at least to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I LOVED the original games and was looking forwards to replaying them, but this collection is just so clunky and clearly not designed or optimized for PC.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- A strong collection (1/2/3) in a decent package. - A community modding scene fixing, adding, or restoring things. - A legitimate option to get the original game files for external use. Unfortunately there are no official options for disabling encounters (in 1) or speed up. What you won't find in the GBA games as a bonus: the ability to turn off the music if you want to vibe to your own while farming chips or doing requests.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hate the border during the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I always wished they updated this to have a pixel art font for the message boxes... or at least, a cooler looking font that's not typewriter. Other than that, really enjoying everything else!! Very solid. Love the talking MegaMan on the launcher :DDDD Launcher menu itself is really appealing all over.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally came around on experiencing a few of the Battle Network games. Pretty decent bundle of 3 games that also features buster max mode which helps a lot with grinding and hard boss fights, download chips, the main menu having Megaman.EXE be the menu navigator that surprisedly has a lot of voicelines plus extra dialogue as you progress the games, art music galleries and more. The games especially BN1 does suffer from early rpgs elements such as grinding, backtracking (looking at you BN2…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →potentially a really bad time without a guide. very easy to clear battles while playing the game very wrong and the signal posting is as bad as like KH1, you might spend most of your time wandering around wondering where the next objective is.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Far superior quality to the second collection, and has very few of its weird bugs and crashes. Also, it has my favorite game of the two trilogies: Battle Network 3 Blue.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favourite series ever probably. They are all peak even though they have infinite fetch quests. The combat is just so fun and well designed imo. Soundtrack is obviously great as it is a Megaman game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Mega Man Battle Network series follows the story of Lan Hikari and his trusty Navi Megaman.Exe. It happens in an alternative universe of the Mega Man series, where pretty much everything is connected to the internet (that part aged really well considering our current time huh?). You will be able to fight against various viruses and other Navis, gaining their powers via Chips after you defeat them. What really makes those games so special to this day is its unique combat. It's a tactical…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These Mega Man collections just keep getting better. All 6 games are native ports which means they have fixed a lot of game breaking chip combos and glitches (not to mention the never ending panic music in the BN6 post game). Online trading and ranked PVP is a huge addition that fans have been asking about for years. On to the actual games themselves, Battle Network is an action rpg with tactical and deck building elements. Each game offering new chips, forms, and strategies to base your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly these games are better than I remember them, played most of them when I was a kid on my GBA. Definitely worth the price for old players and new players looking to get into the series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BUGGY* 11 hours into the game and it bugs out when you get to the antique shop. No fix and the whole play through is lost
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →same ol, bs that make this game made me suffer through and I love every stupid second of it. This game is a blast from the past and I love going through the story again, dealing with the old hard ass puzzles, it a great time. Buy the game if you remember it from your childhood but those who never played, prepare a who sheet or video on what to do in these games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic gameplay, story is great, one of a kind game type.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These are must plays. I loved these games on Gameboy advanced so happy to have these in my life again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →thanks you useless foreign outsourcers at neobards- how can a gba emulator crash in back to back sessions, oh wait we also have crappy drm for no reason as well, thanks crapcom. And thanks for being to lazy to translate what is essentially the remaster of BN1 by excluding Operate shooting star- never more than the bare minimum with these collections. Happy I gave crapcom 0% of the money I spent on humble bundle. also if you use the smudging filter, you're a genuine lobotomite. bottom of the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great way to play through the first half (roughly) of the series for that nostalgia kick! Some of the achievements are a bit of a grind, but it was a great way to expand on the post-game for me, particularly in MMBN3. Plays perfectly on Deck!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good classic fun. worth getting
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →after beating all 3 games i can say my favorites in order are mbn2, mbn3, then mbn1. 2 was only annoying during the freezeman.exe segment, while 3 was annoying most of the game with press and the fact you could only hold one style change :sob: 3 definitely had the best story of the trilogy in this collection, which made enduring press more worthwhile LOL all in all really solid collection of games, i couldn't recommend them enough as mbn is such an iconic series with an amazing cast of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good games but it crashed twice in one day
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even after 2 decades, the core gameplay loop is still very fun. I used to play MMBN 3 years ago on the GBA but never got beyond 2-3 bosses, so it's nice to have finally completed the games now in two neat collections. My only gripes with it are that it could have been one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ collection and some textures have been HD-ified without the option to choose the original pixel look, but I suppose that can be overlooked if the games themselves remain unaltered otherwise.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unless you know this game, you may want to rethink cause this was a Gameboy advance game. So it was made for on the go. So ask yourself A) Do I have a Steam deck B) Am I here to get in that grey area of I own it so I can pirate it on my phone C) Online If No to all 3, Caveat Emptor. Good game, but not something you want just on a PC. That being said, it is about 20 years old game for a mobile platform. It is good cause modern gameing takes no risk and does not build on the old roads.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's very fun. I think my only complaint is that there seems to be a bit of input latency. This will likely not matter for any of the base game bosses and challenges, but it will probably be an issue for most in the post game sections.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →was fine.. a game from my childhood. but I got to a part that.. just screams we don't have any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue what we're doing. this game may have landed capcom on my boycott list. I think I'm done with Capcom
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kind of crazy they made 6 games that are THIS similar to each other - but I guess that's kinda what Megaman is. You build a deck, you're able to use a few cards every 30s or so, the rest of the time you're dodging on a 3x3 grid and pewing 1 damage pellets. Solid gameplay loop, though I wish player growth was a bit more streamlined and not nearly all reliant on your card layout. (You have stats but they are rarely increased.) Honestly if you are reading this you have probably already bought…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MegaMan Battle Network is one of those rare gems that just never seem to come along often enough. I fondly remember enjoying it on Game Boy Advance. It is essentially a mini deckbuilder with RPG action elements. If that sounds lame, give it a try and you could be surprised. While the battles, especially random encounters, get a bit grindy and mundane after a while, that's where collecting chips and figuring out strategies come into play. If you find yourself losing a lot, it's probably because…
