Mega Man Legacy Collection 2
Developer CAPCOM CO., LTD
Mega Man Legacy Collection is a pair of video game compilations based on Capcom's Mega Man series. The two volumes compile emulated versions of the first ten numbered entries in the Mega Man "Classic" series, originally released between 1987 and 2010. The compilation also adds various enhancements and includes behind-the-scenes materials. The original Mega Man Legacy Collection was developed by Digital Eclipse and… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 181 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,593 of 1,879 positive).
Many reviewers criticize the always-online DRM, which prevents offline play and is seen as inexcusable. [1][2][3][4] Some players note the lack of features like rewind and save states, and poor scaling options. [5][6][7][8]

Today I decided to give Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 a try, and to my (not very pleasant) surprise I realized that if I don’t have an internet connection, I can’t play the game. Unfortunately, that alone forces a negative review from me, since I mainly play on my Steam Deck when I don’t have internet, which makes it pretty difficult to enjoy the game the way I intended. Ignoring that issue, I haven’t encountered any …

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is a solid package that finally brings Mega Man 9 and 10 to PC with all their DLC included, and honestly that alone makes it worth the price of admission. All four games run well and the challenges add some extra replay value, though the real highlight is having 9 and 10 in one convenient place. That said, it's hard to ignore the glaring issues: the always-online DRM requirement is …

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐☆ (Not as iconic, but still worth the ride for Mega Man fans) Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 might not hit the legendary highs of Collection 1, but it’s still a solid package — especially if you’re a fan of classic Mega Man and want to see how the Blue Bomber evolved (and got a little weird) in the later years. This collection gives you: Mega Man 7 (SNES era, big sprites, solid difficulty) Mega Man 8 (PS1 era, …

Keep in mind I'm playing Mega Man games in order as first playthrough, coming from Legacy collection 1 I am kinda mixed opinion about MM7-8-9-10 but will rate positive as there are 2 trash and 2 good ones. There are less features, it is definitely less begginner friendly Rewind feature is not existing, save system is not "save state", but rather "checkpoint" saves, which means you will have to be better at the game …

These are good enough emulations of these games. We're on PC - frankly, you'll get a better experience on Retroarch. The games work fine but none of the scaling options are ideal and the filters and other features are pretty bare bones. The challenges are nothing to write home about as far as additional gameplay content is concerned. But the actual games play fine. This is not my favorite way to play them by a mile …

Players who liked Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 talk about mega Man 9 and 10 are considered masterpieces by some; those who didn't talk about always-online DRM locks players out without internet. Which matters more to you?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Mega Man Legacy Collection received positive reviews according to the review aggregators Metacritic and OpenCritic. Will Freeman writing for The Guardian summarized the collection as "direct, untainted ports of the series’ first six games", providing the best entry point for new players. Initially, Mike Minotti of GamesBeat thought the selection was underwhelming, being less comprehensive than the Mega Man Anniversary Collection, with all six games included being released on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console. He also noted the absence of recent titles such as Mega Man 9 and 10. During its first week, the Nintendo 3DS version was the second best-selling game in Japan, and Media Create…

Great for jumping in really quick, but I see tons of streamers & youtubers completely miss out on the intro sequences. They're still there, you just have to wait a bit. They're cute. Chun-Li shows up.

neutral · AI labelView post →Drives me insane a good chunk of retro collections don't even have perfect pixel scaling. Mega Man Legacy Collection 2's scaling is HORRENDOUS. Mega Man 9 and 10 looked especially bad with how poorly scaled they got, so they look exactly like the first example.

Trying to start offline bricks the game, and requires you to delete the exe, run a file integrity verification to get a new one, then start online. This is TERRIBLE, and needs to be fixed for it to be worth anyone's money. God forbid the network goes down and you feel like playing it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No in game volume settings, baffling. Doesnt include Megaman and Bass for the SNES which they couldve easily done. Crapcom translated ace attorney investigations 2 for a collection ffs. Also doesnt have the superior version of mega man 8 that had extra content (the saturn version), couldve at least included both. I also dont believe its impossible for them to have save states instead of checkpoint saves, its just lazy. And MM9 level design wise is still dogwater, Dark souls 2 took a lot of…

neutral · AI labelView post →8/10 Great collection! First of all, thank you very much to Capcom for releasing this collection on Steam. All four games are fantastic (even though Mega Man 7 was too hard for me, so I had to switch to easy mode—called “Extra Armor Mode”—in the settings). Mega Man 8 is my favorite (the graphics look fantastic, and the soundtrack reminds me of “Street Fighter 3: Third Strike,” especially the credit scene). If you want to play it on Linux and see the cutscenes, please choose GE-Proton 9-9.…

I made the mistake back in the day to keep comparing it to Mega Man X "there's no dash," "this game feels slow," "not as cool without Zero in it," etc, but in reality, MM7 is a 16-bit game that plays just like an 8-bit NES game, and it does that perfectly. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Given the success of the first legacy collection (which was the first six NES games), Capcom went ahead and compiled the second half of the franchise for sale. While the NES games were consistent and released yearly, the classic series' jump to the SNES and beyond was rockier. And I find this second half of the series more fascinating because of it. As good as the NES games are, the 'more of the same' critique holds sway. Given that this collection has significantly fewer games than the first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Where is Megaman and Bass? Megaman 9 and 10 are actually pretty terrible games. 9 and 10 are mashups of old games and reusing of sprites and designs. Both are extremely uninspired. You also cant quicksave in 9. 7 and 8 are awesome good retro games. 8 being a visual and audial wonder.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Admittedly, it took me a while to warm up to Mega Man 7. His (and the robot masters) sprite is a tad bit too big, and it leads to the game feeling a bit heavier and cramped than the 8 bit ones. Despite that, 7 arguably has the best art style in the classic series. Mega Man 8 is a bit of a mixed bag in terms of pure level design- but the music and pixel art make up for most of it. 9 and 10 though? Absolute masterpieces. Possibly the best 2D action-platformers ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →mega man 7 is absolute bull sh*t and the fact there's no rewinding in this collection unlike the first one makes it worse. just emulate the games instead of dumping 20 bucks on this

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR / Verdict Overall, this collection is worth it for the games alone, especially on sale, but you could very well get a better experience through emulation. That said, these are still quality titles that I enjoyed, and at the very least, I highly recommend Mega Man 8. Mega Man 7 I didn’t really enjoy this one. At best, I’d say it was okay. My biggest issue is the visuals. I really don’t like the sprite art or pixel work on the SNES. Mega Man feels way too big on the screen,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MMLC 2 is a compilation of Mega Man 7 through 10. It's very similar to the first MMLC 1, so as such I have similar praise and gripes; the games are emulated very well with no performance issues on my end, and there's plenty of speedrun-based challenges for each game. There's even the DLC included for MM9 and 10, which is unlockable by completing those games. This collection lacks the rewind feature of the first one, but still has a checkpoint feature. The games here are challenging as expected,…
