This isn't a fighting game, it's a full-time job. Pros: - Great graphics. - Smooth animations. Cons: - The Grind: You have to play for 1000 hours just to unlock a skin. - Towers of Time: Artificial difficulty designed to make you buy consumables. - Always Online: If your internet blinks for 1 second, you get kicked from a SINGLE PLAYER mode (Krypt). - Character Customization: Most of the cool gear is locked behind …

In my opinion this is the best modern Mortal Kombat game. Decent roster of characters and tons of ways for customizing each and every one of them, both mechanically and visually. Having played +100hs I feel like I barely scratched the surface, and I haven't even touched story mode yet. If you are looking for a fighting game with loads of content (single player wise), this is for you. The way you make progress in the …

Mortal Kombat 11 is genuinely some of the most fun I've had playing a fighting game in many, many years. My history with Mortal Kombat goes all the way back to the early 2000s; I had played some of the earlier titles in the 90s, but I never had consistent access to any particular game in the series until Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. From that point on, I was firmly established as a Mortal Kombat fan and purchased …

Everything else is pretty good, except it takes up a lot of space (up to 120GB)

Players who liked Mortal Kombat 11 talk about responsive and impactful combat mechanics; those who didn't talk about always-online requirement for single-player modes. Which matters more to you?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Mortal Kombat 11 received generally favorable reviews according to the review aggregator website Metacritic. IGN praised the more slow-paced combat compared to the previous game in the series, as well as the expanded tutorial, story mode and improved netcode. However, it condemned the game's drawn-out progression and customization unlock system, which was described as "frustratingly gimmicky and grindy". GameSpot gave the game a 9, praising the fighting system calling it "accessible, deep and exciting" as well praising the story mode. However, they criticized the "always-online requirement for progression" as well as the randomization of rewards in the Krypt. The Nintendo Switch version of…

We had the privilege of his portrayal on the first MK film but also as an amazing voice actor in the Mortal Kombat 11 game. (1 of 2) youtu.be/Dq4TZPg3kOs

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't access some parts of the game without online connectivity to NetherRealm's servers, e.g. The Krypt, Towers and other things, you must be connected to access The Krypt whatsoever, which has coincidentally been refusing to work for me since purchasing with sign-in errors. Even if it did work I would probably still refund it, since I don't support games with these kinds of practices attached to it for largely single-player content, this wasn't an issue in the previous games. What happens…

neutral · AI labelView post →I got the game 90%, and I still felt insulted when I booted it up. It's appalling to see almost half of the fighters grayed out behind a paywall. Look I'm a 90's kid. Just look up MK Ultimate selection screen on mega drive. You could barely fit all the characters in there. This was '96. I know it's an unreasonable comparison, but dammit...and this is an old game by today's standards. Add the fact that today 07/01 marks the beginning of the end of physical media. I remember taking the cartridge…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's somewhere between good and bad. On one hand it looks nice and is the same fluid fighting game I've loved since childhood. On the other hand the story mode kinda sucks and there's not much to do beyond unlocking achievements and tower battles. The character selection is pretty weak without the DLC content but it all goes on sale dirt cheap pretty regularly so I suppose if you pick it up on sale then it's worth it.

I completed this game on another platform and I'm back at it on Steam. I enjoy the character customizations, augmentations and leveling system mechanic. The krypt is better than previous games as it allows you to freely roam around in third person. The Ultimate version is the way to go if you're going to grab it. Various game modes for replayability and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first I was having mixed feelings about this. But the more I played, The more I started to enjoy it. Only main issue I had was the changes of certain character models again. Some of them look weird, others look better. Got ALOT of screenshots out of this too. The finishes are as brutal…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →$9 for Mortal Kombat 11 with all DLC & expansions is a whole lot less than I paid store.steampowered.com/sub/518699/ worth it even if you just play the story/arcade modes. I quite liked the game. What I DIDN’T like was the INCREDIBLE amount of grind required to unlock stuff. Not as big a deal for $9
neutral · AI labelView post →Overall, the best Mortal Kombat experience. Any other version is inferior. Significantly better compared to MK1 (modern one) which came after. Rich customization and content, getting gear is not a slog. Good selection of fighters (would have been great to have Sektor, Smoke, Cyrax but oh well). Mechanics are good and each fighter has a lot of versatility. Intros and Outros are amazing, never gets old listening to what the characters will talk about. Story is interesting. Buy as a complete…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unable to connect to any of the online features. It is a huge let down that you can only access half the game. If you are ok with story mode and thats pretty much it, get it while it is on sale, definitely not worth full price for half a game. Luckily it was part of a bundle that was on sale, so 2 out of 3 games in the bundle being worth it is fair, I guess, not really. it seems the servers for Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 1 are still up.

I have been looking for something to offset the abysmal game loop of modern titles. A lot of these modern titles are half baked, half concocted and are simply made to keep you playing their infinite game loop of boringness... no story...no heart. Don't get me wrong some people are into that. As an example of this type of gameplay I'll mention Arc Raiders. A $50 waste of cash in my oppinion that my…

Art style, DLC fighters, lore, level selection (Deadpool!) or fighting speed are all on top level here. If it was for me, this could have been the last entry in the series and they could've continued to release content for it. Unfortunatelly we got MK reboot (again). My advice, stick to this one.
