I want to start with: I enjoyed this game - or at least most of it - on the whole. I appreciated what the developers did, and certain things were a lot of fun the first time. That said, a number of things frustrated me in less of a "that game was hard" way and more of a "this is a fixable problem" way or a "I wish I could have a few words with the developer and offer to proofread and copy-edit their English …

One of the best 2D roguelike games out there. It's on a par with Dead Cells in my eyes. I saw someone below saying the controls are clunky and it's unoriginal, both of which are completely untrue. It plays beautifully and whilst it clearly mirrors other classics of the genre it really brings it's own twists. if you like resources and collectables, secrets, complicated meta -progression and plenty of viable build …

Fantastic Action Roguelite, way better than Dead Cells IMO. It's like if Dead Cells and MegaMan X were crossed together. Cannot recommend enough.

This game was a part of Humble's Mecha Bundle April 2026 This is a great game. Within 2 days I've amassed over 10 hour in the game. neutral · AI labelView post →Apparently a good Roguelite/Metroidvania game, but.... Dead support. Bad English translation (and can't even be hacked because it uses a custom UnityCN format still unsupported by UABEA tools). Room (respawned) encounters followed by final boss repetitive scheme. Unfortunately another interesting indie game with a good potential but abandoned just when it was getting good.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of those few titles which stand out of the indie crowd and deserves to be named an hidden gem. This is a very solid and polished rogue like heavily inspired to Dead Cells, secondly to other action classics such as Hades and Megaman. The combat and overall gameplay is stellar, the art direction and character design is excellent, and it has a lot of content and replayability. A special mention to the the visual effects which are absolutely stunning - better than most AAA games. The overall…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite a good game, too bad the Devs abandoned it. Dont expect any more updates, at all. But its still a enjoyable rougelite
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like Dead Cells, buy this game immediately. It's got a lot of similarities but it's also it's own unique game. Seriously fun, and I think the esthetic is awesome
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game! I'll be honest, once I started the game, I thought it'd be a cheap metroid-rogue like game, but I was happily wrong. The game takes a few tries for you to start understanding how things work and when you do you just spike higher levels of gameplay non-stop. The game is fast but it's not noisy or with too many things going on at the same time. You really can try different builds with all different characters and they don't feel the same. I beat the 8 difficulties in around 20…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oblivion Override - runs like a dream. Since it's basically Dead Cells but with robots and more boss fights it was a no brainer for me. The controls are smooth and while the fights can be real chaotic I enjoy it a lot so far

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool game. If you want something similar to Dead Cells - this game is an excellent option to scratch that itch. Lots of weapons to unlock, all of them are fun to play with. There are so many things to unlock and to upgrade that in the end no matter which higher difficulty you'll choose to play/grind - it will still be a challenge, but a fair challenge. Which is awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed this game. You have always something new to get after every run, either some passive upgrades, a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty decent roguelike! ✅ Good combat ✅ Interesting level design ✅ Fun boss fights ✅ Amusing side characters ❌ The only thing that I think it's BAD, it's unlocking new weapons. Takes a really really long time to do that and it kinda sucks, tbh. Besides that, I really enjoyed the game. Not super challenging, pretty unique final boss... 8/10 ⭐
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked Dead Cells, you will love this game. It is a hidden gem of a game, and can honestly tell you that it is a refreshing experience to play such a heartfelt project where you feel it throughout the entire game. You get to play as mechs (cool) and get such a variety in upgrades that no run really feels stale with this kind of game. I love a good roguelike and a metroidvania though, so keep that in mind. I do think that this is a great game for everyone though. Mild cartoon gore and no…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oblivion Override is a fast, stylish, and highly kinetic roguelite that throws you into a dying mechanical world where survival depends entirely on how well you can adapt to its aggressive combat rhythm. Developed by Humble Mill and published by XD, the game wastes no time establishing its identity: it is a side-scrolling action title built around tight movements, fluid animation, and a deliberate emphasis on precision. You begin as Crimson, a combat mech awakening in desolate ruins filled with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you like dead cells, you will most likely like this! Great game and deserves more recognition
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tight movement, good graphic, fun loop
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is so good it seems shorts, but it perfectly curated and newer areas keep opening as you get more wins Also there are so many mech boobas
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Are you a orphan of the demise of Blade Assault? One of the best games that got abandoned... Do you like Dead Cells? Do you like Roguelikes? Do you like random power ups? Do you enjoy perma upgrades? Do you like unlocking things for future runs? Do you also enjoy the high of thinking "One more run?" If one or more of those are answered with a yes, I'd highly recommend at least giving the demo a try. So far I'm around 8 hours in and enjoying every minute.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It gets the fundamentals right. Excellent movement ( Omnidirectional dash and double jump from the get go) with cancelable high commit attacks to keep flowing. Downside is that most of the standard attacks are button mashy, without nuance, which makes traversing levels kind of a chore since actually fighting smaller enemies isn't as engaging. Many times I found myself wanting some kind of purposeful moveset variety instead of each button press being anime slashes, but eh. Bosses are pattern…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a solid foundation of a game here buried by the most atrocious English localization ever conceived (seriously, if that sounds like a headache to you, don't buy this game.) and piss easy, boring level transitions to the boss fights that actually require focus. Fighting the trash mobs is mindlessly easy, literally no effort required. The in-between levels should've been cut in size by 60% at least: and they only get bigger the more map upgrades you purchase.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead Cells for the sci fi fans and with a MUCH better weapons system. It's amazing and quality. And I really hope this game gets the attention it deserves. I don't think the developers have been sending keys to big roguelike streamers or anything from what I can tell. It's a shame because I would have bought this game even earlier had I known about it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like a more fun mecha version of Dead Cells.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead Cells but with robots
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An absolutely excellent title that belongs in the library of every fan of action games. Everything from the smooth wall running and omnidirectional dashing to the chunky power hits and swift jabs feels great to play. During the run you'll choose from a semi-random assortment of passive abilities to augment your mech, with more advanced abilities depending on which combinations you've leveled up. Each mech has their own passive and active abilities, as does each weapon. Getting into the flow of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is amazing, tho some achievements are tricky af. Evolved boss fights and flawless secret boss fights really suck the hp and scrypts outta u ;) Highly recommended
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There isn't anything that's necessarily outwardly WRONG with this game, but there is basically nothing original here. The movement and overall gameplay feels clunky and generally not very good, the story is terrible and the game's bonuses often aren't strong enough to meaningfully impact your run. The area for the first boss is so directly inspired by the ramparts from Dead Cells that it's unignorable; I'm talking high up, yellow background, flags everywhere, the whole 9 yards. This game is a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game a lot longer than my steam playtime, to be clear. Oblivion O is criminally underrated. Looks beautiful. Amazing art direction. Fantastic lore. Dead Cells-like combat, but somehow feels more satisfying. Tons of ways to customize your combative playstyle. I mean, I could go on but suffice to say that I am hard pressed to find a single negative here. I'm so glad I found this game and frankly it's 2 years old since the day before this review and it really, truly deserves it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game, I couldn't recommend more. The combos, synergies, dialogue, EVERYTHING was wonderful. Only complaint is that it feels difficult to get back into after not playing for a while, as this game has a super unique style. Then again, that's also a compliment.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game, it's a platformer (strong megaman zero vibes) but the focus is fighting and exploration/clearing a level and not so much of overcoming intense obstacles and traps. the actions is fast passed and intense, and the exploration aspect doesnt really take away from the action due to the amount of teleporters littering most levels. hell even though one have to repeat the levels again and again there is always a sense of something to look for that will of course help you in the next fight.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its like dead cells, but easier.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked this game in the first 30 minutes. A tight experience, fast gameplay, fluid combat (with a bit of delays between strikes), and one of the best looking main menus in gaming history. And then you realize that instead of a metroidvania they designed this as a roguelite where you just do the same levels with the same enemies, nothing going on except walking around and fighting in these repetitive battle rooms until you reach the fun bosses, with a crappy shop once in a level.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I started playing this game during a period when I was struggling to enjoy video games. Oblivion Override made me enjoy them again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great! I love the difference in characters and abilities and there is a lot to do! My only complaint is that it is a little short and the first threat level play through can be a little easy. Working my way through the threat levels now and enjoying unlocking more stuff. Highly recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As others have pointed out, Oblivion Override is very much We Have Dead Cells at Home - but it's doing a decent enough imitation to be worth a look for those who really love the genre. Wait for a sale, $18 is a bit steep but I think most people would be happy paying ten bucks for it. Mild recommendation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty solid game overall, but perhaps not fully complete. Really good combat. Precise, natural and satisfying. Good music, cool art style. Upgrades at the base camp create meaningful progression. A good variety of interesting skill upgrades. Engaging boss fights, at least most of the time. Worth checking out. Where the game feels a bit off is the localisation. Some skill descriptions just don't seem to make sense. Some converstions feel out of whack. The story itself feels kinda…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite rouge likes! It’s crazy addictive and we have you playing for hours. The difficulty does gets a little crazy later in the game and the AI can be unfair but it’s a fun experience
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My review is after beating Alert Level 4 It's a solid Rougelite Metroidvania. Like a Megaman X themed Dead Cells. Plenty of variety in the weapon types, RNG is present but skill plays a big part in your success. The other characters play very differently, and are well balanced. Plenty of different types of meta-progression to help you get further in the harder difficulties. I will be attempting to get to the final Alert Level to see if I get anything unique.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't stop playing this game, it's really addictive. Can't wait to see what the devs add.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you like megaman/zero, this games is for you. got 100% achievement, looking forward for more content ..
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent. I cleared Alert 8 because the unlocks aside the gameplay loop was satisfying. I don't view this as a roguelite that I'd play for 100+ hours, but the 36 I've played so far were enjoyable and worth the price of entry
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cant believe this game isnt more popular!!!! this game exudes creativity, there are so many smalls details paid attention to. I truly hope the devs of this game make another with a medevil dark fantasy vibe or Lovcraftian eldritch vibe, with the same gameplay. We need more games like this please!!!! 10/10 I love this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool, very fun. The game trades dark grim mecha world for viiiiiibes. From the fun weapons(a mech with a baseball bat!), the cool boss designs to the awesome soundtrack(especially the one in the second area slaps hard). Very fluid and fast movement/combat, the usual roguelike augments and enough unlockable mechs that each have their own traits to make no run feel the same. Can absolutely recommend Oblivion Override to any fans of roguelikes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oblivion Override is a fun little game! I'd consider this a simpler, less chaotic version of Dead Cells, and that's a good thing. OO has plenty of build variety, great graphics, and a decent soundtrack. I've only put 9 hours into the game so far, but I can tell that I have plenty of stuff left to unlock from alert levels and just starting new runs. The enemy variety is good, enemy telegraphs are all fair, and dodge has plenty of iframes. This game looks and feels great, and is satisfying to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the good: one mech is stand user. the bad: the stand lack "ora ora ora" the excitement: when mech goes 'BOOM'
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very similar to dead cells in how the combat feels and various mechanics. Lots of content here if you keep working on the various alert levels. I hope this developer continues creating games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm pretty sure I have played every single game on that list. My ordering would be WAYYYYYY different. neutral · AI labelView post →Pretty solid game with no bugs and great combat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been very fun for me. I like the fast paced runs, and the teleport map mechanic makes exploring the whole map quick and easy. Even with the periodic upgrades the game has still been quite difficult. I've died at the end of a boss's life many times which means I'm nearly good enough, but still very challenged by this game. Lots of game left to find if I get just a bit better. I had a few good runs where I doubled my boss kills, still very challenging. Every run I've increased the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun and fast paced. lots of goodies to find. love the art
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of my favorite roguelites. multiple mechs to unlock. one of the more unique aspects is actually that you don't have any healing potion but that doesn't mean it's exceedingly difficult as they give you multiple avenues to get healing from. I always come back to this one when I get in the roguelite mood again. it's not quite dead cells but it certainly feels great to play and looks great doing it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I either until I saw @walle132.bsky.social play Slay The Spire and that genre took over my life. I was heavy on this game called Oblivion Override. They got mad updates to it. It’s basically mecha dead cells.
positive · AI labelView post →Absolute blast of a metro-roguelite action game. Great graphics, game mechanics and replay value, tons of weapons and perks, no bs pay addons, worth every cent.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead Cell (cyberpunk machine edition)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The truth is that it looks a lot like "dead cell"! However, this is a very nice roguelike in a sci-fi environment and with very clean graphics! Well done to the studio,I recommend it unreservedly to the funs of this kind!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Polished and aesthetically pleasing. The combat feels satisfying and impactful with a nice variety of styles depending on the type of weapon and type of mech chosen.
