I've been struggling with burnout from music production. For nearly five years, I taught myself everything through experimenting, learning programs on my own without anyone to guide me. Eventually, I felt like I couldn't do it anymore. Then my bf gifted me Offbeat. It brought me back to making music when I was at my lowest creatively. It reminded me that music could be fun again, and gave me back the spark I thought …

"So I shredded my gnome and backed it up with the door to my castle through a pedal..." Y'all, if you have even the slightest interest in making music, if you've been put off or intimidated by DAWs or other aspects of music production, or if you think you just don't have the sauce, you've gotta try this game, because all of those statements are absolutely true about me and now I can legitimately say that I have …

My game of the year. I've wanted to dip a toe in audio production for a while but felt wayyy too intimidated having absolutely zero musical education. This game makes it fun, easy, it looks and sounds and feels amazing. Might just get the courage to try my hand at it for real...so I'd recommend Offbeat a thousand times. Great job to the team! You guys are changing lives

I am playing this as someone with no music background, but an interest in making music, and I really found this game approachable. Everything is explained concisely without requiring theory, and I appreciate it, as I find music theory super intimidating. The music is quirky, the clients are odd and fun, and that monkey is adorable I'll take 3. I suppose if you're looking for a more classical feeling or realistic …

i really like the concept for this game. it’s nice, light hearted, and casual. only thing i would add is connectivity for a midi keyboard or at least the ability to play notes on your computer keyboard

Offbeat game design, very weird setting, and no guns. Instead, you kick people to death, and punt bullets back at enemies. Some Ikaruga-ish boss fights too.

positive · AI labelView post →OffBeat is a fantastic game. As someone who teaches audio production to 14-25 year olds I have been looking for something that gamifies production, while also making it fun and guilt free. Something that people can take home without thinking of DAWS, RAM and VSTs and the massive equipment list that usually goes with it. There are two objectives in the game, make something, and keep to what the client/prompt wants. But beyond that this game is just happy that we're creating something. There…

positive · AI labelView post →I spent over an hour and a half in the tutorial making a silly ringtone for my uncle at Sad Brick Studios. Did I like the results? No. Did I have fun? YES, A LOT. It made me touch my piano again for the first time in weeks. I feel like this game might end up consuming me and changing my life (which is amazing), and I'm VERY excited to see what it will become in the future.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is genuienly such a refreshing concept, especially as someone who makes music. the game is pretty much its own DAW (digital audio workstation. where music is produce digitally) condensed into a game format. the challenges are difficult for begginers but also guide you enough to understand the bare basics of making music. but it goes beyond that and contains a high skill ceiling to bring any pre existing skills into. it gives you challenges and unique ways tto make music and sounds, so…

neutral · AI labelView post →If you have any interest in music production, or have any experience. Seriously, get this game. It takes concepts and turns it into something without a precedent (such as, a kick is turned to a castle door), which mentally gives you more free space to not judge your experiments before you try them. As an educational tool, it's actually quite effective in this way. And unlike most educational tools, it's pretty fun and quite funny at times.

The simplified scale interface is an excellent tool for people of all levels of musical training, allowing fewer notes to be displayed that are likelier to sound good together. The tutorial is also beyond helpful, both the initial explanations and the journal entries (which are incredibly useful for expanding on the concepts introduced when buying and…

It is such a nice and easy way to get introduced to everything. On top of that the writing is fun, the style is fun and whimsical, and overall it is just a fantastic game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Adding some more! OFFBEAT is a fun sequencer-based music-making game where you're taking composer oddjobs and making music from circuit-bent toys. Super fun, captures how much I love goofing with seqs and synths store.steampowered.com/app/4468030/...

positive · AI labelView post →OFFBEAT has made me love the process of music production. As someone who wants to get into making music but doesn't know music theory, or how to use professional DAWs, this game feels like it is the perfect stepping stone for those with little-to-no experience - like me :) It's a lot of fun to play around with all of the unique musical objects, and there are many *aha* moments I got once I finally understood what all of the buttons, knobs, and switches do. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OFFBEAT is a fine game that's not for me, however that's not why I am giving this a negative review. I am giving this a thumbs down, because it does not have an options menu. There are not graphics settings, and somehow, no sounds settings. Its hard to recommend a game like this, where the music can be quiet or fine, and then the telephone chimes in with a new quest and deafens you. I really hope that OFFBEAT adds some more quality of life features so that playing it isn't a chore and that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've dabbled in VyOS and Opnsense, but ran Pfsense for close to a decade (which is basically Opnsense, but more proprietary). Between the two, I think Opnsense is likely your better option. Updates: There is some nuance, but VyOS doesn't give you a LTS release so you will be taking quarterly upgrades to the latest. You are more or less a beta tester. Opnsense has I guess one could consider "normal" releases with their community edition and is pretty easy to upgrade. You don't really expect…
