It is adorable, and just a lot of fun. The ability to combine skills in various ways adds a lot of depth and potential for shenanigans. It's just genuinely fun. The nuance of the slime's dialogue is really impressive and funny, tiny little voice, big interruptions. The game feels earnest. They set out to make a hack and slash where you are a heroic slime and they succeeded in every regard.

Combat is a slog, platforming is awkward, terrain jank in many places, several of the puzzle dungeons are incredibly poorly implemented. Ultimately, it's just not fun. I tried to go for 100% despite this since you can adjust several difficulty factors, but that doesn't help with some of the worst problems. Cute it is, fun it is not.
