I really wanted to enjoy this game, but the AI visuals ruin it completely for me. The portraits for the tutorial guy in the bottom left are obviously AI. It is so soulless and ugly looking, and I just couldn't deal. It's a real shame because I was having fun with the gameplay.

What a boring disappointment! I am sitting at 22 hours of playtime and I finished/"beat" the game at around the 12 hour mark. There's nothing left to do in the game. Just a big ol dead end. Don't waste your money.

I have a ton of thoughts about this game, so I'm going to get right to it. First off, I am 14 hours in and have reached 5 star status. I am working on the final 3 rooms and that'll be it for the hotel. The only things left for me outside of the hotel is to unlock the Car Wash and find the rest of the car parts for the mechanic guy, I think I'll be completely done with all quests by 20 hours. GAMEPLAY - Fun loop with …

I really enjoy playing this game! It is so addicting, for me at least. It has a story line and you have to complete quests to progress further. So you don't only grind until you buy everything. You can get employees to have it a bit easier, still you have to do a lot by yourself. Keep cleaning, keep renovating and keep buying stuff from the market and keep your fridge full. There are a lot of things to do, next to …

While Sunset Motel has a decent foundation, it’s a mediocre experience that suffers from a lack of depth and challenge. Because you start with a relatively nice setup and the money flows way too easily, there is no real sense of "building" something, and the upgrade system feels very limited. The additional content, such as the car wash and caravan sections, feels unpolished and unfinished, leaving the overall game …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Game is a fun game however it lacks content i have 100% the current game in less then 9 hours and new content was advertised but 6 weeks later no updates and no new content. My not recommending the game is based on the lack up content but am willing to reinstall if they ever drop new content
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't know the game contained AI generated content at the time of purchase. Unfortunately, it was more than clear by the gameplay itself. Disappointing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My little sister introduced me to this game, streamed herself playing to show me the gameplay. I genuinely thought the concept and mechanics were pretty cool and it looked fun. Don't get me wrong, this "could" be a fun game to play. BUT, I refuse to pay 20$ for a game that relies on AI-generated content. Photos, character sprite design, assuming the music, and who else knows what, to the unbearable AI tutorial voice that you literally can't turn off in the settings. You are given the option to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I lovely cozy game, that covers all my simulator needs and there's a unstuck button, how lovely is that. Pro Tip: Put antiques in the rooms to get higher rating.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is best summed up as a "sandbox" simulator, like Roblox or Fortnite: a lot of different mechanics that can all be summarized with "Press Mouse 1 to Complete". Gets very boring very quickly. Would definitely not recommend this game at its default price point, maybe at 50% off minimum - game only took about six hours to get all achievements.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to agree with a lot people in that the game is good, maybe border line great, except for that seems like early access in that there is little substance. It seems bare bones, great concept, but little substance after a while. Hoping that they continue to build on it, we will see. Unfortunately for now I can not recommend it unless it is on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As an extreme simulator player, I partially recommend this recommend if that makes sense lol the beginning of this game is very grindy but it becomes more manageable once you are able to hire employees. There is quite a gap in being responsible for laundry, cooking, cleaning and opening new rooms. I know it says you can shut down the hotel but I don't like that unless you are leaving to go on the tasks. Additionally, once you open the bar and gym, you are still responsible for serving…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would probably be a good Game, but I really cant play with this Radial Menu which was obviously designed for a Console Version. Feels like playing in ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Mode.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's alright. I feel like it is super easy to max out and open up everything. I upgraded my entire motel and opened all the additional content in the almost 13 hours I played it. I like simulation games to progress a little more slowly than that. 5/10

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I hear the word “Motel,” I always think of a singing dog or a bald guy. You know, Pitbull. The one and only: Mr. Worldwide! We at the hotel, motel, Holiday Inn… But today, we’re talking about the game Sunset Motel, developed by Efkey Studios and published by RockGame S.A. Getting Started The game starts with a clear introduction that guides you through the story and immediately shows you how the controls work. You start right away by renovating motel room 201. Tear down the wood that’s…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →overall pretty fun but needs way more content it only took 3 days to 100% the game 9.1 hours to be exact
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is rushed, not realy finished however most things work. Few bugs. This game has a ton of potential but everything is done a bit half half.. its fine for a rainy day but i wouldnt pay full price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i really wanted to enjoy this game, i was excited to see a simulation style game where i could renovate motel rooms and whatnot. but honestly, not even an hour in i'm frustrated with multiple things that make me doubt the quality of the rest of the game. the AI voice didn't initally bother me as there was an option in the settings to turn it off. except that doesn't work, the AI voice played regardless of if you had it toggled or not - even the voice itself you couldn't just mute, it played…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't really get the positive reviews for this game. It does have alot of things to do, yet those things contain no mechanics. You basically just click and wait, then click again. No depth at all. The game has a negative progression curve. The more successful your motel becomes, the more boring it becomes doing the chores. Designing the motel rooms is shallow; the meta is just to spam expensive items to make the room LVLs as high as possible. The game lacks a fundamental worker in the late…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An absolute zero- effort asset flip. It seems great at first, but after getting my 5- star rating, and owning the caravans for just a short while, all the furniture from three caravans disappeared. That was the last drop for me. I even wrote a whole list of bugs, glitches and things that should've been improved and fixed. Even an amateur developer should've noticed all the things I did. Boycott list it is...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is very Addictive! There is so much to do. You start with 2 rooms, cleaning them out and decorating them as you level up. As you progress through the game, you can open up a pool and a Gym after cleaning and doing the chore lists. You can also prepare food and do laundry for guests. I am 9 hours in already! I am really enjoying it. There are many quest to do! FUN game!

positive · AI labelView post →I bought this game before they added the AI warning label. I regret that my money went toward a game that uses GenAI in its development. 0/10 Do not buy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decently fun game, although I think there should be more employees in later game elements especially for room cleaning. I'm not recommending this game only because it uses/used AI in its creation and I am opposed to the use of AI. If AI is of no concern to you then the game is fine.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has great bones but not sure they will build on it correctly, played 5 hours and unlocked everything. I dont get why you cant hire a cleaner or repair guy. Your the owner and you have to do the horrible jobs but can hire for the other jobs. its weird. there needs to be more of a gameplay loop. It seems something needs to be cleaned (like a sofa covered in brown) or is on fire (whyyyy) after every guest leaves.

neutral · AI labelView post →Sunset Motel: A Beautiful Experience Held Back by Performance Issues. Sunset Motel is one of those games that immediately grabs you with its atmosphere. The lighting, the mood, the sense of place, it all feels handcrafted. There’s a quiet, eerie charm to wandering the motel grounds, and the art direction deserves real credit. When the game is still, it’s gorgeous. But the moment you start moving, the cracks show. Even on a capable GPU like an RTX 4060, the game struggles with frame…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very fun and I love how it is not the same thing over and over again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is very good! if you like supermarket simulator, bakery & cafe sim, house flipper, things like that - it's up your alley. the amount of urgency with the orders feels really good, it's not too stressful while also still feeling like there is some urgency. there's definitely still some kinks to be worked out, but it's a really great game so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun simulation! Only Critiques are that there isnt much to do at the end of the game that isnt cleaning rooms. Please give us a cleaner and some end game goals to obtain!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs a lot more content in the game ........ and a cleaner worker... better collision for everything ..... and more
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was fun at the beginning, but there is not enough to do. I love simulators especially with everything this game had going for it. I beat this game so fast and I have just been waiting on updates or something to add new stuff to do. I even already received all of the achievements. It doesn't seem like they will ever update their game though. They only continue to post the same thing saying there is a "Big Update" coming soon and then nothing ever happens. If you want to waste almost…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's better than most average simulator games out there in steam. Why not recommend it? The game have employee system that suppose to make your life easier but employee in this game is extremely slow, can only do too specific job that doesn't help much like transfer customer bag. You still do most jobs like making laundry for every rooms, buy and prepare foods/drink for every rooms at random time even though it should be chef job instead chef only serve food not preparing them. You don't even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game itself is good and looks better than the average simulator and all the mechanics etc are nice. But for 20$ you really don't get a lot of playtime. I wasn't trying to rush it or anything but still ended up 100%ing it in just 6h. The game also suffers from the typical simulator scaling issue where you blink once and you end up with more money than you can spend. Will definitely come back to this if it gets more content!

neutral · AI labelView post →I didn't play this game for very long, the tutorial guy is that cheap looking AI and a lot of the photos you can place on the walls are obviously AI as well. I don't feel good about spending money or what is obvious free AI gen items - you're making money on this product, pay an artist.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would but it really needs more. 9 Hours and I've basically finished it. Hope it gets fleshed out a bit more
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The fun of a renovation game coupled with the aspects of running a business with employees and money management makes this game different than the others. This one has it all and you're not just running one business you're running many. The hustle of running multiple businesses adds to the game play keeping you on your toes every second you're open for business! Challenges you to make the most bang for your buck out of each of your designs with customer feedback sending you back to the drawing…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look, if you're expecting AAA gaming, you won't find it here. It's much of a muchness compared to other simulator style games - you clean up the motel, you decorate the place, you serve guests and earn points to progress to more rooms and other motel upgrades. However, I do agree with some other reviews: the reach a point where the main game progression ends and then, with no word from the guy who has been guiding you all game, the caravan section starts without prompt and with no further hints…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't like this game. It's buggy. I've had customers that got stuck in their doors and there's no cleaner so I have to run the caravan and clean everything myself. Plus there's no customization, seems a bit sexist to me personally. It's not as fun as I thought it would be.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has a lot of content but it feels shallow, and it's lacking polish with its animations and models - even compared to other games of its genre. Their use of AI has allowed them to create a singular tutorial character who comments and tells you what to do next as you go along, and also has allowed them to generate a lot of different furnitures - as well as vaguely corporate brand-esque names for that furniture as well as various different colours of paint. There is a fair bit of content.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game, but can be a bit buggy. But looking forward to seeing this game grow even better
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the game, but I do have some recommendations to improve it. 1: The rooms especially after the first 3 are TOO HUGE. The game offers a lot of furniture options, but it is a lot of the same furniture, there's only so many chairs and bookcases you can put in a space before it just looks dumb. I would recommended allowing us to use the caravan kitchen stuff to make some rooms (Especially the huge ones) into kitchenette so that rooms that big make sense. This also goes for the bathrooms-…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I play my games on the P C. This is the most complete Hotel simulator game that I have played so far. I am putting it at the very top of the list because it has a lot of content. There are many activities and more interactions in this game. We have several types of parties and missions to accomplish. There is more variety of furniture. There are very few glitches and those glitches do not render the game unplayable. It is a lot of work for one person, in the beginning, but it is possible. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →meh, its Alright game, too much to work for one person. if its real i would hire cooker, bar keeper and maid
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a nice game, I like having objectives to follow rather than just doing a bit of everything at once. Nevertheless you are done in about 6 hours and then it's just making sure you have enough food and drinks stored...Not too much else to do by the end unfortunately.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was fun at first, but this game is very easy to level up in. It also doesn't feel realistic to a real motel. You can't hire a housekeeping staff, but you can hire a bellhop, a chef, a gym coach, and hire poolside cocktail services. It does feel like the game was compensating for how quickly you can finish the game, so they added these "missions" to do for the antique shop and the car shop, but those are also easy to fly through that it doesn't feel fulfilling. I think the game is more fun if…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls are very inconvenient. All the buildings are located too far from the main point (the motel). There are very few gameplay mechanics in the motel itself, and too many unnecessary ones elsewhere, in my opinion. It would have been better to make a more developed game focused on improving the motel, instead of adding mechanics like the repair shop, car wash, and restorer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A mundane game. With again ABC game play and routine design with a cracker barrel graphics and story line. Why I keep doing this to myself and buying C+ instead of the A+ when games like these seem to always let me down.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly I did not know what I was getting into with this game. I love simulations and thought I'd give it a shot. And I absolutely love it! I'm 20 hours in and there is still plenty to do. Yes some of it is monotonous but IT'S A SIMULATION ABOUT WORK. lol A couple things I'd love to see the developers do is maybe incorporate a full restaurant since there is cooking already maybe have the low tier stuff at the front desk but have a full fledged restaurant/bar as an add on. Another thought…

But please fix the audio settings. I have the voice volume all the way down and the old man and customers are still screaming through my headset.
