What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 266 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (4,176 of 5,220 positive).
Players widely call SWORN a near copy of Hades, often calling it a clone or 'Hades at home'. [1][2][3] Many reviewers enjoy the co-op, but frequent disconnections and no rejoin feature ruin multiplayer. [4][5][6] Some find it fun for a few hours, but lacking polish, story, and depth compared to Hades. [7][8][9]

This game is meant to be played co-op, but co-op isn't fun when the multiplayer networking randomly can drop and, most importantly, they did not bother to implement any way to rejoin a match. Think you are having a good run with some friends? Nope, a player lost connection and can't rejoin. The networking issues could be ignored if they literally just implemented a rejoin system. Until they resolve the networking / …

Verdict: SWORN can most accuratelly be described as Hades from Wish. It is fun for a few hours but seriously needs a lot of polish. + Positives + + Steam achievements (31) + Fun for a few runs + up to 4 player co-op + I honestly really love the co-op + 4 characters, each with 4 skills and 4 weapons + Upgrading is fun + Love the arturian legend setting + Interesting graphic style + Bosses are pretty challenging + …

A Pretender To The Throne When Oscar Wilde said imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I believe he had Sworn in mind. Sworn is a decent game that will forever live in the shadows of a truly great game that "inspired" it -- Hades. Sworn steals pretty much every thing that was not locked and nailed down by Super Giant, so much so that it almost leaves a bad taste. It's so much of a clone, that you start to …

When you've beaten Hades a dozen times, and Hades II about 20 times, but you still want more Hades (a surprisingly common problem I'm finding), well this is for you. It's an almost 1:1 copy of Hades with the serial numbers filed off and multiplayer added. Sadly SuperGiant's excellent writing is a hard feat to replicate, so don't expect much on the social side, but the underlying game is quite solid, if a tad crusty …

Very much so "Hades at home", 90% of the game feels like a copy paste where something was lost in translation. A few mechanics are better, like the Co-op, the classes/weapon variety, but nearly everything else is just inferior. That said hades is still such a high bar that missing the mark can still land you well above average, and that's what this game is. Above average, but drags itself down trying to imitate too …

neutral · AI labelView post →This game lacks the ability to join after being disconnected. Had the best run I've ever had to be soured by a random disconnect. This truly has put a sour taste in my mouth. Genuinely ruined my night. UPDATE: Day 2, I've figured out some more information. It has decided it ONLY wants to disconnect me when I have fun. God forbid I have a good run, get the F*** outta here. But don't worry, if I'm having a bad run it'll work perfect to extend my suffering. What a joke.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy this game. However, this game has the very worst designed multiplayer game infrastructure I've ever played. You can get disconnected from the game even if you are the host and there's absolutely no way to get back to the game if you get disconnected. And it happens very, very frequently. For no apparent reason. It is hateful. I cannot vouch for this game as long as this problem remains unadressed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is missing two, critical features: 1. The ability to save progress and continue a solo run at another time. 2. Enabling reconnection in multiplayer. Feels really frustrating to be almost an hour into a run on a harder difficulty with a couple friends, and lose it because a blip in someone's connection boots them, and there's simply no way to get them back into the run. There's also a lack of balance between the blessings. Some routes are very underwhelming, simply not doing…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got Sworn in a Humble Bundle, which is basically the gaming equivalent of opening a mystery can from your food storage and hoping it’s chili and not peaches. I installed it with zero expectations, zero hype, and honestly zero idea what the game even was. After playing for a while, I found myself asking the most important question a gamer can ask: “Am I having fun?” Answer: Kinda. Then I asked a deeper question: “Do I feel like I have purpose?” Answer: Kinda. Then I spiraled into a full…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll start this with the conclusion: SWORN is almost a good game, but I cannot recommend it for multiplayer (no experience on single-player, so no comment there). NOTE, there are some minor spoilers in this review in regards to certain functionality/bosses. The good: - The gameplay loop is solid (with some heavy influence from Hades, understandable). - Fighting gameplay (keyboard and mouse aswell as controller) feels solid. Fluid, snappy and easy. - The Boons are unique feeling and provide…

neutral · AI labelView post →When a game comes along and essentially defines a new genre, it's only natural that other developers start trying to capture some of that magic. Just look at what happened after Dark Souls released – suddenly we were flooded with "souls-like" games, all trying to raise the bar. And honestly, that's not a bad thing. Some of those attempts turned out pretty great. For me, Hades became the gold standard of the rogue-lite genre. Today, however, I want to talk about another game that clearly aims…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not A Bad Clone, TBH lol Yeah, this one looks and plays like Hades, but with less chatter and slightly smaller maps. I really enjoy these types of games. So if you like Hades then you might like this one as well. Good controls as well and I used a PS5 dual sense controller and works fine! Sorry, just a short and simple review.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clearly heavily inspired by Hades from the gameplay (boons + duo boons) to the art style. However there are many factors that make Hades feel like a masterpiece, and this feel like a cheap copy. The music, narrative, and voice acting are more compelling in Hades. The UI and VFX in Hades are much more consistent with the art style. Hades probably has 8x more content than this game, due to the diversity in weapons, builds, enemies, bosses/biomes, and difficulty modifiers. My main issues…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like a really clunky Hades. If you ever thought, "I love Hades, but I really want it to feel slightly off all the time." This game is for you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary: I'd recommend grabbing SWORN on sale. It can be a lot of fun as a Hades-like action game, but it'd seriously benefit from some quality of life changes: 1) Add a dedicated Boss Rush mode. Make Boss Rush mode accessible from the beginning. Having to go through the majority of the game to do Boss Rush feels tedious, it takes approx. ~15-30 minutes to get there. It's a fun mode to do, but it's buried deep within the game. 2) Add the option to re-join Co-op games. If you disconnect from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Half of the runs I get randomly disconnected, it is insane that this game has co-op but there is no way to have saves. It's not even that hard to implement it. I really expected more from this game, it's really fun, but when the game disconnects while we are having winning runs all that fun disappears. It's so disappointing that a game like this still has an issue that has such an easy fix and that this issue is still here after a lot of people complained about it. It seems like a rushed…

neutral · AI labelView post →If you're planning to play SWORN solo, keep your expectations in check—this is a mid-level Hades clone through and through, and it isn't nearly as good as the original. The isometric combat and room-clearing loops are okay, but without friends to back you up, the gameplay flaws and slower pacing become a lot more noticeable. It borrows the exact same blueprint as Hades but lacks the polished flair and gripping story to back it up. It’s an okay game for a casual solo playthrough, but it firmly…

The issue is the Multiplayer, multiplayer is TERRIBLE when it comes to connectivity this game is Absolutely TERRIBLE! On three PCs LAN this game will STILL kick a random player which is SO TRASH! It is SO disheartening to get a GREAT run only for ONE RANDOM PLAYER TO GET KICKED FROM THE TEAM. This game is amazing..... DONT PLAY IT UNTIL THEY FIX THE MULTIPLAYER. Is this game a masterpiece? No, but I need my Hades-fix from time to time. SWORN is an action RPG set in the time of King Arthur, in which you must free Camelot from the clutches of evil. King Arthur is definitely not the hero in this game – he has become a ruler of evil who rules Camelot Castle with his knights of the Round Table, who…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm conflicted with this one. On one hand, it's a very fun Hades-like coop roguelike. Lots of hours of fun to be had here. The game works best when played casually, because things start to break down on higher difficulties and targeted builds. 1) Higher difficulties = damage sponges. Enemies have so much health it slows the pace of the game down as you have to whittle health bars away - not fun. 2) Not all blessings are equal. Some blessings (ie. Gogmagog) are so broken you can beat the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll make it positive when you let us rejoin after disconnecting. Year 2026 and people still making games that you can not join back. You will not have a smooth gameplay with your friends I assure. Everyone I know that plays the game crashes often. If you want to play with your friends just do not buy it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game does NOT save MID-run progress! *edit for clarity Didn't see that mentioned in a lot of reviews; not even the negative ones, and I don't know why... it's a pretty HUGE deal-breaker. I did, however, see it mentioned in discussions, and plenty of people pointed out what a deal-breaker it was for them. So yeah, no mid-run quitting out! Ha... imagine it's twenty-twenty-f**king-SIX, and there's a roguelite out there that doesn't save run progress. Dude, that's commonplace these days...…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is basically Hades Co-op, it's a lot of fun if you play with friends and we were definitely hooked, although don't expect the same level of story-telling or charm that Hades has. However there are so many game-breaking/performance bugs that it's mind blowing that this was taken out of early access in this state. First of all, there's no cross-play within PC, so if you play in Game Pass, you can't connect to Steam-based users, I guess this isn't really a bug, just not supported right…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is literally Hades but multiplayer, except the multiplayer part doesn't work because you often disconnect and there's no way to rejoin. Hades is a much better single player experience, so until this game's servers are fixed and/or a rejoin option is implemented, just play Hades instead

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game still crashed (and crashes the entire computer of me and my friends with it on occasion) while playing multiplayer. This is unacceptable and must be fixed. Otherwise- great game, and it's a real shame that's the pretty much the only downside, and such a major one at that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →baught this game today, went on a small walk with my wife outside. set down and played. it's midnight. my wife came to make sure I drank water. I didn't 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not as polished as Hades from a balance and story standpoint. The story is almost non-existent, but if you are looking for a cooperative game in a similar vein as Hades, and have a friend to play with, this one is fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did not like Sworn because it was too similar to Hades. If you did not like that first line, you're not going to like the rest of the review so feel free to skip the rest of my review. As I said, I do not like Sworn because it was too similar to Hades. I do not like making direct comparison between games, but it is because I could not unlink them in my head was a major reason for me not liking the game. Sworn held on to many of it rudimentary mechanics that Hades had without the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tons of positive reviews with a few hours that likely didn't make it past the first difficulty or two, but the more you play the more this game shows just how bad it is. They keep repeatedly updating the flow of the match and adding new mechanics to the enemies, while doing nothing about 90% of the "roguelike" and weapons being nothing but troll picks in the higher difficulty, it's extremely upsetting to see this game get so many updates on the side of the enemies, and all we get is new skins…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fix your multiplayer net code and/or add in a rejoin feature. At it's current state, this is totally unacceptable. Bought this to play with friends and at least once or twice per night We lose a good run because the game crashes, someone loses connection, or WORSE, The game causes a force restart of someone's computer. (Spoilers, if this happens to you, turn off vsync and limit your FPS. For some reason this game spikes your gpu at random intervals)

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really fun and cool to play, I like the unlocks and the co op is fun. HOWEVER, there is no save function, not a problem in itself but the game constantly disconnects either one of you, including the host, and as soon as you get disconnected the game is over as you cannot rejoin because of the no saving thing. I cannot recommend the game in this state. We have just played 6 runs, and 5 of them disconnected. The final one disconnecting me as soon as I clicked on the boss door…

So let's start the review with a quick summary: Gameplay: 9/10. It's incredibly responsive, fun, deep and engaging. More enemy variety and it be a 10. Character build depth: 10/10. The mix of class, weapon, fae blessing and other elements give some crazy varied, unique and cool…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good way to pass a few hours. The harder levels are tedious and not fun but the journey there is. Wasn't fun enough to push it but I've also played hours of hades 1/2 so the genre is kind of stale already.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It the game crashes, it means the run is lost. No way to reload/rejoin when a crash occurs. Crashes are pretty common, so far experienced during 1/2 of my runs. Unacceptable for this kind of game. Will change review if they fix
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Co-op Hades is a cool concept but this one just kinda falls flat. The world, story and characters are neither communicated well nor even interesting. The class and weapon design feels responsive and solid at first but the vast majority of weapons don't really have a learning curve at all and many of them just feel bad to use. The boon/blessing system is poorly balanced with some of the Fae just not feeling useful for any playstyle and even the powerful ones not feeling cool or rewarding to set…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Replayability is superb—every run feels different in some way. You can make your runs more consistent with rerolls, but that still comes down to a bit of luck. Yes, luck affects your runs, but only to a small extent. To consistently finish runs, you need to memorize enemy patterns, boss telegraphs, and learn how to use traps to your advantage. Proper dodging is key, especially making good use of i-frames to avoid heavy damage. Experiment with abilities and figure out what works and what…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is multiplayer Hades but not nearly as fun. The multiplayer aspect would make up for it, if only it wasn't so poorly optimized. If you want to constantly be disconnected or have your friend disconnected, this is the game for you! Multiplayer has been an issue with this game since early access and it is still not resolved at 1.1. Do NOT buy this game if you're interested in the multiplayer aspect. It does NOT work. Just buy and play Hades.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i understand being influenced by a popular game (hades) but this goes beyond influence, it feels like a reskin at times. even simple things like the UI tutorials are ripped straight from hades.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I LOVE this game. It's very clearly Hades but Co-op and with Arthurian Legend which is great because I love playing action roguelikes with the husband. There are two very clear cons for me: one (which a lot of other people have mentioned) is the fact that you cannot save mid fight. That means if you crash, which is very possible from at least one of you during the game, you have to start all over. This can get very frustrating and very old very quickly. The second is more skill issue based,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing roguelite (similar to Hades) to play on coop or single player. There's a good amount of content to last a few hours and even when you have most of the stuff unlocked, you keep playing because the gameplay is really fun. My only complain is the last two chapters (last normal one and the secret one). The first of these seems like it was rushed during early access and it's just 3 areas and the combat it's just enemies spawning (the later updated makes it a bit better by making it be a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First review i've ever wrote because i'm outraged by this game. Shameless bootleg Hades with very few improvement and far less inspired game design. Most of features and game mechanics are 1/1 copy with another name and sprite. Multiplayer is the only true innovation and the feature we bought it for but close to nothing has been set up for it. Too few enemies, close to no team synergy, death is very poorly handled and a few missteps from a reckless player can quickly drag all the team down…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game overall. It's basically Hades with coop. But devs MUST solve disconnect and reconnect issues though. It is ridiculous. You spend 40 mins in a run then disconnect for no reason. As you cannot reconnect your run all progress is lost. If you play with your friends its even worse. Just add autosave between each room, is it so hard?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can call it a hades clone but it is a really fun roguelike game. I had a blast 100% it and recommend for everybody that wants more straight forward fun experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, played through with a friend but basically a bar for bar copy of Hades minus a handful of differences and not nearly as polished or well balanced. However, being able to play this in coop plus the different playable characters, alternate bosses, boss rush, fourth biome and very final boss make it a good time
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been a blast, very fun top down roguelite, relatively balance characters, fun randomisations and perks/unlocks. Was fully encompassed for a few weeks. I did play 95% games with a co-op friend, little to no issues, maybe 1 disconnect over 20 hours of game time. Seems like they are still updating this and I've just re-downloaded to try out new content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring and repetitive. Little enemy variety and room layouts. Every run LITERALLY STARTS IN THE SAME ROOM. Enemy attacks are well telegraphed if slightly too frequent, punishing any build that is not spell-spam or fast attacks. God powers are cool but get boring really fast as you always have to start with the same ones every run. Overall - meh. I've seen much better games. Not worth buying unless on sale and even then you are probably better off with something else.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love the art style in this game. Everything that is in it is very well done. with that being said. there is not much in it. same 3 levels over and over and same boring bosses. Needs more weapons. more abilities, more diversity altogether. Shape of Dreams and Soulstone survivors nailed it. I hope to see similar ambition with this game.
