Received this game as a gift. Thanks to this game, I discovered a whole category of games that I hate: the "point-and-click mystery escape room puzzles". GOD. Even with a walkthrough, it was confusing, annoying and a huge waste of time. You get the items literally out of your behind, everything in the screen can be an item or a movable piece, you have to hover the mouse in an infinite ammount of scenes IN THE …

even though it is much better than the first one game play wise. the controls are still lacking and very frustrating. just like the first game i forced my self to finish this one. the controls seems to be made more for touch screen than a mouse... sometimes double click is spin, sometimes spin is hold and spin. turning stuff turn half way and go back... The original House of Da Vinci was fine, but a bit stiff. This one quickly proves it learned from that. It’s smoother, more confident, and actually interested in telling a story instead of just lining up puzzles and hoping you’re patient. The timeline is handled in a surprisingly smart way. It works as both a prequel and a sequel, with the first game sitting neatly between chapters 2 and 3 here. More importantly, it …

This was insanely impressive, WOW. In the transition to this sequel, they added so much. Puzzles are amazing, the mechanical design is so incredibly creative, absolutely beautiful environments, and the addition of a more concrete story has me HOOKED. It still suffers sometimes with having to find really well hidden items, but don't feel afraid to use the hint mechanic to help out the search. If you like this kind of …

Big improvement over the first. The first House of Da Vinci game doesn't compare favourably to almost any entry in the Room series, but this one happily stands amongst them as a peer. Visuals are improved; it's no longer so dark you can't see WTF you're doing half the time and the lens is much less obstructive. There are still a couple of puzzles where the link between elements is kinda weak and there's a bit of …

So many puzzles are meaningless matters of just finding some trivial asymmetry or slotting in the right thing. I could hardly call it a puzzle game since it's more of a "Find the right obscure object to progress forward" game.

I really enjoyed most of it, but there are too many games where you have to keep rotating things until they align correctly. I have been stuck on one section for far too long and even watching the walk through I can't get it.

some puzzles are intriguing and quite a challenge, however the performance issues that occur while playing make the overall experience much less enjoyable. there were points during the game where I had to lower my resolution and play the game in windowed just to be able to move different levers in their correct position. seems like the game isn't compatible with a 1440p monitor, which really sucks. honestly just stick to quern from this studio, it's far better

its hard to say it wasnt "good" but the big game breaker was how hard it was to find the one random piece hidden in a tiny slot you wouldnt see, unless you use hints. i recommend playing house of davinci 3 as its much more intuitive

The second part doesn't disappoint, offering plenty of new puzzles, some easy and some hard. It’s easy to get immersed in the game and comfortable with the setting; a bit of story has been included, and everything runs smoothly. Nothing more to say, it's just another masterpiece from the game series.

Overall: 3/10, even on sale I don't think I would buy this again. Roughly 4-5 hour game. The story is interesting but unrewarding as it ends on a cliffhanger before any actual progression is made. The puzzles are mediocre. Some are so easy they're pointless. The hardest ones are difficult because you don't know what you're supposed to be solving for. There is only one set of puzzles in-between and they're all in the same room. There's a perspective problem when moving between scenes. The…

The House of Da Vinci 2 is a great and compelling tale with interactive, creative puzzles that entice and enthrall. After playing for just over 9 hours over a 2 week period, the game increased with intrigue which made me feel the want for more. I can hardly wait to start the next game in succession! This game starts out decent (albeit slowly), but as it moves forwards the puzzles become more "brute-force" than logical deduction. This would be fine by me, if there wasn't a rubik's cube puzzle shoved in the middle of it where you can only see one side. Ever. And you can't rotate that front face. As someone who is not a Cuber, this puzzle was so frustrating that I almost gave up in the final chapter. At least there's a satisfying conclusion, right? Well... do you like Papal history? I…

The voiced characters made this part truly exceptional. The artstyle is the same, but the complexity of the game grew by new items, obstacles and a great continuation of the original game's storyline. I am impressed by how well this game was made and the different levels are also not too intimidating, yet advanced enough to make your brain function on 120% to figure your way out. I must say I was worried I'll need some deep historical or scientific knowledge to complete the game, but aside from…

If you like this kind of game, it's interesting and very pretty. I do not like this kind of game. Puzzles are fine, but hunting around each scene for clues and what I need to accomplish is tedious. It's similar to The Room, another pretty game I do not enjoy.

Really enjoyed this game, especially if you like puzzles and mechanical stuff. The locations look great and the Renaissance atmosphere is really well done. The puzzles are fun, although some of them definitely made me stop and think for a while. I also liked the time travel mechanic, it makes the game feel more interesting and unique. The fully voiced dialogue is a nice touch too. Overall, a relaxing game to play in the evening and definitely worth trying if you like this kind of game. 👍

It's a fun puzzle game with gorgeous graphics and more of a storyline than original House of Da Vinci. The hints are usually just enough, and there's the right amount of head-banging on some of the tougher ones. My only criticism has been for one puzzle where you had to "flick" a piece closed - it was very hard to do with the mouse.

Pretty fun puzzle game. Most puzzles are fairly simple, though there are a few a-ha moments. Annoyances include: - achievements that require you to not use your X-ray vision to solve certain puzzles (there doesn't seem to be any other way to solve them without prior knowledge, so I'm not sure what the point of these is) - takes an age to time travel - a few fiddly controls where you drag something and it doesn't go far enough, so you think that's not what you're supposed to be doing and you…

I would have recommended this, I made it all the way to chapter 5. Then I was told to knock on a door. And I CANNOT knock on the door. I tried changing my computers refresh rate, changing the settings on the game, and it didn't matter. I cannot knock that stupid door! So, since I cannot knock on the door, the door will not open, and I can't continue the game. So now it's just... a dead game. And I am sad about it.

Really good puzzles, especially if you like mechanical contraptions! Similar to the first version with the addition of a bit of a story line with NP{C and voice acting, although your part is limited to solving the mechanical puzzles, the story provides more of a goal for doing so. 7.5/10 A short but overall satisfying puzzle game set in 15th century Italy. Personally, I'm not following the story at all, although the mid game time skip did throw me off for a moment. I agree with the reviewers who complain about the unskippable slider puzzles. There are some that are so frustrating that I just get off for the night. I always get it when I log back in the next day, but I can understand how that would be upsettiing to others.

Compared to the first part it's definitively getting better. The controls are working fine now and the mouse cursor changes if you can zoom in on a place you are facing. The hints are now sometimes actually helpful, but they tell you things that should be mentioned anyways (like connect all the dots, not only enough to go from start to end visiting every picture, etc). It seems inspired by The Room, with many more complex machinations, instead of searching through entire rooms for buttons,…
