Third one in the series, third one with the same issues, unfortunately cause there seems some passion behind it and had potential. Puzzles are usually okay, story and atmosphere is fine for an indie game, even if the ending seemed unfinished. Bought all 3 house of Da vinci games during a sale. If you do like puzzle games, I would recommend giving it a try, especially on discount. However, I do have a few things to say about the game. I came upon this series when I was looking for more similar puzzle games after completing the room series. As expected, it did resemble the room in a lot of ways. More of the same. I did not enjoy this one as much. The courtyard puzzle with the windmill had a lot of backtracking, which is boring. Some of the other puzzles had no obvious clues how to proceed, so I had to sit and wait for hints, only to learn the next step made no logical sense. The time travel depiction here, unlike in HoDV 2, is nonsensical: people are frozen in time but you can still manipulate objects, open …

A good puzzle games similar to the likes of The Room series. The puzzles and level design are good with enough complexity most of the time to be challenging. No solutions felt illogical or impossible to arrive to/find. And the hint system was good at progressively giving more detail without flat out spoiling the solution until the very last clue. I look forward to the next game being developed by this group.

Over-designed machinery whirring, spinning, rotating and raising into action will always be a satisfying reward for me solving a puzzle. The House of Da Vinci series is one of the few clones of The Room that has the animation chops and mechanical creativity to truly impress me. Just tedious. I completed volumes 1 and 2 and kind of convinced myself that they were somewhat satisfying. At least the graphics were good. Kind of a poor mans version of the "The Room" series which I also played most of them and actually enjoyed. Maybe House of Da Vinci 3 is not that different from volumes 1 and 2, but I played 5 chapters so far, and very few puzzles are actually what I call fun. Very heavy emphasis on simple "find the hotspot/interactive part" puzzles which I find…

I wish i stopped playing at the first one. I have found myself more and more frustrated by the size of the levels and the seeming irrelevance between each puzzle step. The two problems combined make for a frustrating experience and by now i am experiencing more pain than pleasure. The camera angles and weird mouse controls do not help with this at all. I earnestly advise a skip, or go in with a stomach for jank.

It is a decent continuation of the franchise, with a few issues preventing me from giving it a honest thumbs up. The most glaring issue is the technical side- the game has no frame limiter or even at least a vsync option, so you're stuck with your GPU going full tilt for no reason, spinning its fans, eating extra energy and heating up the room. Yes you can limit FPS through your GPU control panel, but that makes the game sorta choppy. It will report that it outputs 60 FPS, but will drop some…

It was really hard to give this a thumbs down, and if you played 1 & 2, you probably should play 3 as well, even if it has a lot of problems going for it. I appreciate the strong story-driven narrative of the game, but it has quite a few large questionmarks left unanswered, and also weird and frustrating puzzle design directions. The story: SPOILER It picks up at where the 2nd game ended. The structure of the story completely falls apart. 1)We do not know who the mysterious Order member is,…

I played the previous two games, the first one in flat and VR, and I didn't care for this one. The game doesn't really have the same vibe as the first two. And it didn't feel intuitive. I'm not expecting the game to be easy or answers to be obvious, but the previous games had a flow that this one just didn't. I occasionally got stuck in the first two, but this was a regular occurrence in this game. And what you are can and cannot or are supposed to interact with didn't feel natural. I ended up…

Argh, same mixed feelings I had with the sequel: it is nice that a Room clone tries to spice it up with higher difficulty and less hand holding, but on one hand it sometimes goes too hard with the pixel hunting and on the other it feels a bit too much like going through the mechanical motions. There is more pure storytelling, with characters and dialogues and stuff, and yet it feels just a bit more gamey, a bit more doing a then b then c, a bit more housework than it should be. Yet, I cannot…

If you're a fan of games like Myst and The Room, this game will feel somewhat familiar. However, the range of puzzle difficulty is wide from moment to moment: some puzzles will be so obvious you'll wonder if you're a genius or the developers just couldn't think of anything clever, and then in the next moment a puzzle will be so obscure you can't help but wait for a hint to pop up. What ultimately became clear to me is that many of the puzzles are illogical, and so your job is not to "logic your…

I appreciate the thought behind leaning into the story-driven aspects of this game. However, the added extrinsic motivation of trying to do these time-sensitive high-stakes things completely ruins the normal joy of solving puzzles. It turned what should be the joy of discovery into the annoyance of impediment. Regardless of how good the puzzle is, the story is telling me to Accomplish Goal Now and demanding I rush through whatever is put it in front of me, making it an obstacle rather than…

An alright conclusion to the House of Da Vinci Trilogy. For me personally, I could not follow the story in this game nor the previous. I'm sure if I took the time to really go through the events, I could make sense of it, but otherwise the story is a bit hard to follow. Some of the puzzles make no sense at all and really frustrated me. Also, the fact that the characters all pronounced Giacomo differently broke a bit of the immersion and seemed like quite an oversight. I think, overall, I…

Just the type of puzzle game I love. No chases, time limits etc. Try and challenge yourself not to look at the clues as some just give the puzzles away. I'd say it's probably the easiest out of all 3 of them, but a good engaging game never the less - if you enjoy the puzzle format.

The House of Da Vinci 3 drops you straight back into where the previous game ended and then pushes you to conspiracies, science, magic, and Vatican-level secrets. The puzzles are the heart of the experience, and I won’t spoil how they work because discovery is half the joy here. But the variety really stood out. You’re constantly bouncing between number puzzles, mechanical contraptions, and that classic loop of “put this object here so that thing opens over there.” It never felt stale. Just…

Not having free movement gets annoying too. I bought it on sale to get an idea of how the upcoming House of Tesla might be since Im an electrical engineer and big Tesla fan. I wont be buying it after playing this.

Spend longer in cut scenes and without control of your character than solving puzzles. Most of said puzzles are stupid simple and painfully obvious - click the one possible button or hold the one possible movable object. Game is pretty, but shallow and boring compared to the earlier ones. Most disappointing is how many rooms seem full of complex objects when you first walk in, but then it turns out you can only interact with a few minor items and move on to the next set piece within minutes.…

However, I recommend this game and I will no doubt play it again in the future. Also when I was completely stuck, I learned that the best way forward was to leave the game and come back to it fresh another day and if that didn't work then the hints were much appreciated.

This wasn't as good as the first 2. It quickly became "Hey! I found a thing. It must fit in that other thing with that shape on it. That gave another thing. I'll find the thing that that goes in" etc.etc. VA was awful. Lots of typos in Subs and changed pronunciation of names throughout the game for the same character. I am gonna write a bit more thoroughly in this review as this is the current last game in this series, and seems to be the conclusion of the Da Vinci saga with them moving on to Tesla. While all 3 games were indeed enjoyable, and I would recommend everyone gives them a chance, if they like point and click puzzle games, I will say they feel worse to me than The Room series of games.
