What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 35 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (161 of 223 positive).
Players praise the unique spellcrafting system but note it requires significant thought. [1][2][3] Many find the game unbalanced, with bullet-sponge enemies and weak progression. [4][5][6][7] Some reviewers enjoy the fast-paced action and cute art style despite rough edges. [8][9][10]

Ngl....... It's been some good bullet heavens released lately. This isn't one of them yet! I've played this game for 11 hrs trying to find something good about it... I think it takes too much grinding... After 11 hrs of playing. I don't feel powerful at all. Very dry game..

I cannot even comprehend who the game was designed for in its current state but I am a sucker for adorable and challenging games. The artwork is so adorable and high quality, but the game play isn't up to the standard of survivor-likes presently. Mixing and matching these weird things isn't fun or rewarding. Dumb the system down to be engaging, quick, and intuitive so it's even possible for it to feel good. The …

W.A.N.D offers a good mix of interesting mechanics: Vampire Survivors (autofire) vs. Brotato (-style rounds) vs. Bio-Prototype (synergistic casting chains) vs. Backpack Hero (puzzling gear/spells together in limited space). Supports ultra-wide monitors. On the negative said, it does not offer proper options to adjust graphics or controls. The pixilated graphics, combined with high projectile speed, can sometimes …

I'm kinda surprised at all the negative reviews. I like bullet hell and survivor-like games quite a bit, and I thought this was fun. It's not a super deep game, and you aren't really playing this for a bunch of progression. This is more of a quick pick up game that you play from time to time. If you pick this up on sale, I think it's a great game to have for some times when you aren't sure what you want to play, but …

I had to uninstall this thing because this ♥♥♥♥ is like catnip to me. After a bit of an initial hurdle of realizing that the game means it when it calls itself a bullet hell I quickly got to the point where I could clear runs quite consistently even with mediocre pulls. I love tinkering with stuff in this game and also it drives me up the walls. The actual combat is always at least somewhat tense and often …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like it, but it's just boring. The scaling is wrong, so leveling feels inconsequential despite how much time you put into it. Because even basic enemies take so long to kill after a few rounds, they build up too quickly. Combine with the ranged projectile speed being too high for the amount of enemies and limited space, it really just ends up being frustrating if you manage to overcome the boredem. It's too bad, because the spell-building mechanic is really cool. With some active…

neutral · AI labelView post →Project W.A.N.D is a really unique approach to the bullet heaven roguelite genre, where the main twist is that you manage your spellcasting by managing chains of casting conditions, spells and modifiers. I wanna start this review saying that I am not a big fan of Vampire Survivors-like games, but I have been having a great time playing this one, and I can also tell that this game is not for people who just want to sit, level up and destroy everything on the screen, because it requires a bit…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I expected a bit more characters and weapons than what the game currently contains, will check back later for more updates. Currently I dont see myself playing the game to unlock what little is there. The spellcrafting felt more like a puzzlegame to me than actually crafting or designing my spells and the Trigger concept on paper seems cool, but the chains feel unreliable when everything past the first spell is RNG.

neutral · AI labelView post →Its alright but has its shortcomings. Pros: * The pixelation filter over the graphics makes the game look pretty nice * The customization / spell building mechanic is pretty novel * The post-game progression is alright, and the extra difficulty options on stages are ok fun. Cons: * The writing and images feel AI generated. * The balance makes most strategies, spells, spawners, etc pretty useless. * Visual clarity can take a hit with many enemies on screen at once. For more in-depth balance…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There just isn't enough game here to justify the price. only 3 character and 4 wands. rogue genesia, VS, Halls of Torment, Death Must Die are all cheaper and have way more content.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →W.A.N.D. Project offers a unique twist on the bullet-hell genre with its spellcrafting system, allowing players to combine over 100 magical elements to create diverse and powerful spells. This feature adds depth and replayability, as each run can feel distinct. The game's anime-inspired aesthetic and fast-paced action are engaging, and the variety of wands and sorceresses to unlock provides a sense of progression. However, the game falls short in several areas. The narrative is minimal, with a…

neutral · AI labelView post →Moment by moment gameplay is poor. The environment is small and there's almost nothing to do but kite (while sometimes trying to move over the xp). You can barely pay attention to attacking while running. The only action you have to take during play is dash, and the delay is long. This encourages you to remain further away from enemies. Waves are excessively short and pacing killed by (skippable) dialog and reprogramming between each wave. The "programming" of power-ups is confusing, and the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The art in this game (especially the character portrait) looks AI-generated. The gameplay is decent, but until I know I'm not supporting another slop project I'll have to leave the review as "Not recommended".

positive · AI labelView post →Wand customization takes way too much time and what you can do with it is not interesting enough.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the $5.50 they wanted on sale, it was fine. Enjoyable enough for an afternoon. Nothing special, nothing terrible.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spellcrafting should be the game's strength but everything is balanced to feel very marginal For example, extra cast you 1. purchase the passive 2. dedicate board space 3. lose control of the additional cast and yet the cooldown penalty is x2.2 which makes the builds very limiting, a lot of chore for very little satisfaction Difficulty is also based around enemies being bullet sponges instead of interesting mechanics Needs a lot more polish and rebalancing

positive · AI labelView post →its pretty simple game as most survivors style games are. You kill the waves level up the stuff and rinse and repeat till you've finished with all the characters. as you can tell im not a huge fan of the genre as it just feels like im grinding mobs for like i normally do in mmos but all im ever unlocking is an infinite amount of perks to zerg through brainless npcs. I can see the appeal for some and Think the game does an alright job at what it does. Might need some tweaks with how the perk…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warning, Avoid. "No." *Dies* This game isn't very good. It has a cool spell crafting system but that's about it. You will spend more time in the menus than playing the game.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring - Looks like it it is being played on the Tv your grandmother has had in her house since 79' - Music is MID, 3 coords and a wannabe beatdrop that perpetually resets itself because the runs go so fast and the intermission music is worse than what you get in an elevator in corpo borpo america - dialogue written by chatgpt & then restylized by one of its partners - Swear I've seen these anime sprites on R34 or some ♥♥♥♥

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →on the surface this game seems interesting enough. it looked like i'd have to put thought into my wand setup and it seemed like combining elements and spells would have a big impact on look and feel of the gameplay itself but none of that is really there. it explained the system well enough, the story kinda just drops you in which is fine but the dialogue came off a little weird to me, and kind of cliche b-movie feel to me. nonetheless the gameplay does not feel the way it looked like it would…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A difficult hoard survival game with alright graphics and unique spell crafting systems. I bought it specifically for negative reviews saying it was too hard. That's the genre. and I like how you have to balance your board arrangement to optimize your spells and wand bonuses. I've logged several hours and made it to the final boss of zone one, but I build for close ranged AoE flurry damage and I got smoked in a long range caster fight. I think the only issue is tracking on ranged units is too…

neutral · AI labelView post →Pretty fun lil survivor style game. Its big difference being the spell programming board, which is a fun change to the level up new skill system. My only gripes currently are the map sizes seem really tight, granted rounds are short, but still would like to see them 1.5 or 2x the size. The other is how easy it is to get hit, and not really identify where it came from, it can be a lil annoying when projectiles launch and get lost really easily on the field.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Characters are great and diverse, and cute to boot. Music is 10/10, absolutely love it. Starts out very easy then gets more difficult and complicated. My only complaint is that the spellcrafting. I was kinda lost at first in how to make the spells and effects. As someone who doesn't normally play these games, I felt like it needed a bit more explanation in the tutorial. Very Fun though, get it while its on sale!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is actually a fun game it just take time getting use to the combo cards and lining them up but over all its a good game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it as it has great potential; Especially the deck building / casting spells aspect. If there was a spell that reduced the dash cooldown, I think this game could be even better. 8.5/10. Very creative; Keep up the good work.
