Some players find the game better than its reputation suggests, especially at a discount. [1][2][3] Many reviewers criticize the game for feeling like a MOBA rather than a Dawn of War title. [4][5][6] Several players note technical issues and a lack of polish compared to earlier entries. [7][8][9]

The hate for this game is just ridiculous. It seems like some people are unable to formulate their own opinions and instead jump straight on the bandwagon. As someone who has played Dawn of War 1 and 2, including all of their DLC, and has accumulated hundreds of hours across both games, I honestly find that Dawn of War 3 differs far less from its predecessors than people make it out to. Dawn of War 3 offers an …

Does not deserve the hate, very good game, great campaign.

Dawn of Wa…sted potential I wish there was a mixed option for reviews, because this is not completely horrible, but it has so many issues and it’s such an enormous downgrade on both previous DoW games that I simply cannot give this a positive review. The main points I’d like to address: Dawn of War III takes some mechanics from the first two games and tries combining them into a hybridy RTS amalgam, but the result …

If you are a fan of DoW1 then this game is not for you due to how shallow the rts side is If you are a fan of DoW2 then this game is not for you due to how shallow the rpg side is If you are a fan of League of Legends then yeah sure, maybe this might be for you I had high hopes for DoW3 as on the surface it looked closer to DoW1 with actual base building and a higher focus on non-hero units then DoW2 had but that's …

Bad core mechanics, constant bugs, horrible UX/UI, painfully slow pacing, a detrimental plot, and terrible voice acting. An absolute mess.

Critics, per Wikipedia
GameSpot awarded Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III a score of 8.0 out of 10, saying "Dawn of War III builds and maintains an organic tension that yields huge pay-offs, and there's nothing else quite like it." Destructoid awarded it 7.5 out of 10, saying: "Not everything works (especially the strict adherence to the core concept), but it's still very much both a Warhammer and a Dawn of War joint." Hardcore Gamer awarded it 4.5 out of 5, saying: "Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III successfully takes the best elements from the previous two games and blends them with traditional RTS mechanics to create a game with deep strategic gameplay." IGN scored the game as 7.6/10, noting that "Relic…

But with DOW4 around the corner, and the huge sale on it (1/5 of its current retail price), i told myself why not. Honestly, I can only understand the terrible reviews it got. The game is…

positive · AI labelView post →THE GAME: Warhammer 40,000 is a squad-level minatures game, which means it is about moving little men across a table which represents part of a planet and pretending that the little men are shooting and punching each other. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is ass. Played through DoW1-2 with all expansions in preparation for DoW IV and they all slapped. With 3 it's as if I'm unable to launch the game again because my brain is protecting me from hurting myself. Terrible pacing, mobile cartoonish aesthetic, bizarre MOBA combat and awful animations. Watch a YouTube Lore video about it instead.

Look at the dude from all the artwork and that'll tell you everything you need about the visuals. They couldn't make Gabe uglier if they tried. Plus the "enhanced mobility" moves the main heroes get and we see are 8+ foot tall superhuman in superheavy power armor doing fruity loop ninja leaps like my man thinks he's in Naruto. I'm honestly…

I finally got around to installing it and seeing for myself. Is it a bad game? No. Is it a bad Dawn of War game? Very much so. Had they made this a stand alone game with a new franchise title people might not have been so outraged by it. That being said, it feels and plays like a MOBA or cell phone game. Lets just get straight to how it differs from previous…

positive · AI labelView post →Much has been said about this game. Mostly negative. I always thought that the outrage about it seems a little exaggerated, and a lot of it truly is. I mean, a lot of people are freaking out about the Space Marine commander being able to jump, others complain that the units look too clean and colorful, etc. Most of these complaints sound silly to me. I jumped into it with an open mind. Played three campaign missions. They taught you basics of each faction, but were still actual missions.…

Its kind of impressive how they made a wrong technical decision at every turn. You like DoW1? say goodbye to being able to rotate the camera…

neutral · AI labelView post →Bought this just to play through the campaign before Dawn of War 4 drops. Couldn't finish it. Got through the first ten missions which was a slog. Resources generate far too slowly, I ended up spending most of each mission semi AFK waiting for requisition and power to trickle in so I could actually build some decent units to finish the mission. Got to mission 11 and the game kept crashing every time I moved the camera towards the middle of the map. Tried various graphics settings, but it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I originally played DoW3 as my first game of the franchise and went back to play 1 & 2 so I can honestly say this one was the most boring play through. The war gear and upgrade systems from the previous titles were awesome and should've been implemented here. This game just seemed rushed and bland. Astartes die extremely quick, the elite system is bad. Campaign was mid. MP was even worse, relying on Knights and the Orks equivalent is horrible. I pray DoW4 is nothing like this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not good but It's better than everyone has been saying. Pros: -Basebuilding is back -Nice visuals -I think it was a nice idea the campaign change between factions and the last half of it is cool -The giant mechs are cool, even that they're heroes -I'm not a Ork fan, but their use of scrap was a good idea Cons: -DoW 2 tainted the series with a hero system and people that liked it made Relic think it was a good idea to bring this back. They only heal, SLOWLY, at main structures if not in…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I rarely give a negative review. I hardly ever hit the "No" on would you recommend this game to other players button. My thoughts are if I can get more hours of play time out a game than I spent dollars on it then it was worth it. This is one of those special games that is so bad, that I have given up well before that threshold. This game is awful. It is not even really a game. At no point in the few hours that I played did I feel like I was "playing" a game and more just reacting to the cues…
