What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 160 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (2,481 of 3,104 positive).
Players describe it as a standalone expansion to Inquisitor Martyr that adds a new class and campaign. [1][2][3] Many compare it to Diablo in the Warhammer 40k universe, praising the action RPG gameplay. [4][5][6] Some find the game repetitive and the loot system frustrating, especially at endgame. [7][8][9]

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr has a strong “wow” opening. For the first hours it genuinely feels like “Diablo, but Warhammer,” and the presentation is excellent: chunky weapons, great atmosphere, satisfying effects — it looks and sounds cooler than I expected. Then the repetition hits. Most missions boil down to the same few objectives and room layouts with very little variation. The story tries and there …

WH40K: Inquisitor - Prophecy is a confusing game. It is a standalone game, but it is also a re-release of WH40K Inquisitor - Martyr. Prophecy and Martyr is the same game, but has different Steam achievements. Add the DLCs, and it becomes even more confusing. I'll just refer to the game as "Inquisitor", to prevent any confusion. At its heart, Inquisitor is an action RPG set in the WH40K universe. You play an …

This is a hack&slash masterpiece! It's my absolute personal TOP 2 games ever made! In my opinion, it beats even Diablo or POE. There's no better in the genre so far. Every mission, even if you've played it hundreds of times, is different, the mission and map generator is masterful, full of details, hidden "findables". I highly recommend it to every hack&slash fan even if you don't know Warhammer 40K or aren't a …

Prophecy adds the Tech-Adept class and campaign to Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor Martyr if you have that game already. Install is only 500Kb and you can launch the game from either Prophecy or Martyr. If you don't have Martyr then it will be 80Gb as a stand-alone game without the main storyline of Martyr.

Players who liked Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Prophecy talk about great atmosphere and sound design, especially the bolter; those who didn't talk about confusing standalone release that should be DLC. Which matters more to you?

An empty fall release date schedule left some major questions as players waited to see where anticipated games like Marvel’s Wolverine and Control Resonant would land. After today’s PlayStation State of Play, we finally have our answer to that question: No one. November remains wide open for GTA 6 as it appears that every major holiday video game will…

It was actually because I was looking for a Warhammer ARPG and found this one and decided to try and find a discount since it was more than I was hoping to pay on Steam. Needless to say I SCORED!! positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sorry, I saw an opportunity to sing the praises of crunchy hand-made shootbang software Warhammer 40,000: Darktide and had to take it. It's a beautiful game filled with real voice acting that periodically breaks for inscrutable reasons that always have this distinct human-error flavor to them.

positive · AI labelView post →I have no idea how I put so many hours into this game. It is repetitive to the max. The loot system is horrible. Every mission, every map is one of about 5 so you end up doing the same thing, over and over and over and over.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review is based on 100% completion and 2.8 hours of gameplay. Recommendation: Would I recommend this game? No, I don’t think I would. This one honestly confuses me, as I don’t understand why it exists as a standalone game. You’re undoubtedly better off playing the full game, Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr, which includes all the same content and more. While I don’t recommend picking this up and suggest sticking with Martyr, the content itself is exactly the same as what you get in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not recommend it for new players with no connection to Warhammer 40k universe. The game is for online purposes pretty dead. Many cabals I found having players who are offline for 2000k+ days. This makes it really hard to find other online players. But it is possible. Was not that important to me to be honest since I basically play campaign. I found a cabal but still not playing any coop missions so far. Regardless of my thumbs down. The game itself is really cool. Well done and a lot of…

neutral · AI labelView post →was loving this diablo style game in the 40k universe, ran into a connection bug, but found a fix easy enough. but now it seems like i'm unable to roll an entire group of enchants on my gear anymore, no matter how many thousands of mats i dump into rerolling an enchant. on any of my equipment. it's completely blocked my gear progress at endgame. so if you like never being able to upgrade your equipment again, then go ahead. but this has ruined the game for me. I suggest not wasting your money

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i am genuinely baffled at the horrendous performance of this 6 year old game. Every component of my PC is newer than the game is, and yet this single player ARPG is one of the worst running games i have. impressive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the beginning of writing this review, I was torn about the game, but once I put my thoughts down, I came to a clear conclusion: it's full of contradictions. The game is visually unappealing, but in a way, it fits the grim, bleak reality of Warhammer 40k. However, while I usually appreciate horror-esque, ugly aesthetics, this game feels like it’s missing a more stylized touch. It’s hard to explain, but I don’t think the artists had the skill to fully pull it off. The lighting feels off, and…
