What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 231 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (16,989 of 22,348 positive).
Players describe it as a solid but repetitive ARPG in the Warhammer 40k setting. [1][2][3] Many praise the atmosphere, class design, and lore, but note performance and bug issues. [4][5][6] Some find the mission structure and loot system tedious, while others enjoy the co-op and depth. [7][8][9]

Borign and very repetitive game loop, missions are the same in corridor based maps which offer almmost no variety, only positive it's in the 40k world which is a plus but other than that I do not recommend this game

Inquisitor – Martyr is what happens when Diablo gets reassigned to government work. You inspect the crime scene, fill several corridors with bolter fire, then spend ten minutes comparing relics with bonuses written by the Adeptus Administratum. The combat is heavy, the missions repeat, and the loot system eventually becomes a second campaign against percentages. It is clunky, obsessive, and unmistakably 40K. I came …

So far it's a great experience. Once again I'm playing a WH40K game in it's hardest setting, with my wife. It's fun as ♥♥♥♥ when both of you complement each other's class. Totally recommended regardless of how much of a 40k fan you are. *UPDATE* The games has a ton of bugs that started showing up as soon as the fun maximized. You get stuck on things, char stops moving, player 2 stops receiving and causing damage, …

I was skeptical about this game at first but boy , after you immerse in it a bit, the warhammer 40k setting , lore and style design accompanies the ARPG gameplay very well. I recommend trying this out.

Inquisitor - Martyr is fine. It's a decent enough Diablo-like but it's far too repetitive. The missions are all but the same, the enemies all feel mostly the same, the objectives don't have much variety. It feels like this was a 10 hour game stretched way beyond the ability of it's fun, complexity, mechanics and story. While I find the story to be the best part of the game, it's drip fed by random letters and …

74% of the 231 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr. The complaint that keeps coming up: repetitive missions and linear maps. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

neutral · AI labelView post →Over the years I enjoyed playing this(when things worked), and wish I could give it a positive review. Sadly, I cannot, due to some serious issues. Firstly the biggest issue the game has is that there's a hard limit to how much loot can lie on the ground. I didn't count, but let's just say it can easily happen halfway through some missions - even if you pick up half the loot(green and above, despite green being pretty much useless already). So what happens when that limit is reached? Any more…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A friend of mine got into a state where they couldn't proceed with the campaign anymore. They looked it up and the fix is to create a ticket with the devs to perform manual data correction for their account. It's a fairly common error, so the method to fix the bug struck us both as really backwards. If this bug is patched, I'd adjust my review, but for now it's a negative recommendation.

neutral · AI labelView post →[playtime inaccurate, offline-only player nowadays] If you get the full game on 90% off you may have some mindless fun, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. It has some interesting ideas, and I certainly think 40k is the perfect theme for a unique ARPG, but it doesn't come together and the execution is just not where it needs to be. I'd also caution anyone that thinks (from the misleading trailers, etc) that this is a twinstick shooter... it's not. Every action (even basic shooting) is a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean its not perfect but idk why people are giving this game so many negative reviews. This is a pretty solid attempt at a Warhammer 40k ARPG, I wouldnt pay full price for it still but it's still worth a play if you can get this at a decent price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simple ARPG. Can get repetitive at times but it is fun. Basically Diablo X 40K
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe, just *maybe,* I use a lighter to light half a dozen candles, so I can get to the right headspace to play Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader?
neutral · AI labelView post →I tried Warhammer Inquisitor again, but unfortunately, I just can't get into it. I like the 40K universe and enjoy games like Darktide, Gladius, and Dawn of War, but this game feels like a horde shooter with 40K skins and very repetitive missions. It's missing the right magic, larger maps, and more mission variety. I can play Diablo 2 day and night, but this game bores me after just two hours.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Impossible to play in coop - the 2nd player gets freezes and lags. Multiple crashes for the 1st player (party leader) as well. Unplayable. Do not buy it!!! Tried all possible solutions fouond online. The PCs used are powerful machines - one with a 4080 and the 2nd one - 4090 Nvidia cards. The connection is fiber - 2,5Gbps. Utterly crap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than slot machines in Las Vegas. Also, using a controller can completely change the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is kinda mid, and there's literally no reason a game from 2018 should have such awful performance issues, where some maps are fine, and others stutter so bad you just stand there and inputs don't go through. Edit: I did find out that toggling your odd CPU's off for this game in Task Manager fixes most of these issues, but it's still crazy you have to finagle this just to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sorry, I saw an opportunity to sing the praises of crunchy hand-made shootbang software Warhammer 40,000: Darktide and had to take it. It's a beautiful game filled with real voice acting that periodically breaks for inscrutable reasons that always have this distinct human-error flavor to them.
neutral · AI labelView post →I... honestly don't even know where to start. I am familiar enough with the Warhammer Lore to understand that the Lore as presented within the game is not necessarily inaccurate... but at the same time... I have questions about exactly "When" this game is supposed to take place in regards to canon Lore. However, that wasn't my problem. I am long familiar with the "Twin Stick Arcade Shooters Masquerading as Long Format Action Role Playing Games" as popularized by Diablo. Diablo got away with…

positive · AI labelView post →Picked this up on the Warhammer sale for 5 bucks, and while I am recommending it for 40k fans it comes with a massive caveat. Yes it's an ARPG, but it's mission based and the levels are linear... so in my opinion even though rated worse on Steam, Chaosbane is the better Warhammer ARPG for people like me who prefer more of an open map style like PoE and Diablo. However, the class design, build option depth, and character kits are great. The art, voice acting, and set pieces are also done very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love Warhammer 40k and there are parts of this game I like, but this could have been so much better. Part of what makes these kinds of RPG games fun is the build variety. Understandably there will be some restriction based on the lore of 40k, but not enough that the gameplay needs to feel this bland. I am really glad I didn't let my friends talk me into buying the Van Hellsing games by the same developer if this is how they play. The Sororitas is honestly the most fun class to play because…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ngl, i came from Rogue Trader and bought this game just because i can be Battle Sister. I love Argenta and Adepta Sororitas in general. They're cool af. The gameplay maybe not on par to Diablo or Path of Exile but blowing heretic's brain with barrage of boltgun shots is fun enough for me. 10/10 for the emperor!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is exactly what you expect from Warhammer 40k. It's gritty, no shortcuts are taken and it's everything the D games still try to be. No frilly girl talk, all glory to the Emperor.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As fun as the game is with the weapons, classes, enemies, etc, i cant bring myself to recommend this game as for myself and my friends (Unsure about others) we keep getting more game breaking bugs and glitches as we play, not to mention that the 4 main classes have a split story from the mechanics class with the game, so there will be difficulty to try coop story together, some fixes that would help are a few bug fixes and a notice for classes with diffrent story direction, hope this review…
