Wasteland 3 is actually a really nice CRPG. If it works. I’d like to recommend the game, but Wasteland 3 has basically been abandoned by its developers. Six years after release, there are still dozens of game-breaking bugs that the developers know about(!), but they simply don’t feel like fixing the game and instead expect players to submit support tickets (lol). One of the best Introductory cRPG's Wasteland 3 is one of the best introductions to the CRPG genre that I can think of as it blends classic role-playing depth with modern accessibility. It has a really fun turn-based tactical combat system which is clearly presented, making it easy for new players to understand positioning, cover, abilities, and party synergy without feeling too overwhelmed. TLDR: I’d recommend it, but barely. Only if you already like tactical RPGs. Wasteland 3 hooked me pretty early. The opening was good and the combat felt fun. There are a lot of pretty funny moments, some good characters, and the writing lands often enough to keep things interesting. When it works, it really works. About halfway through, though, it started falling apart for me. I was playing on "Wastelander" …

After 300 hours on my first playthrough I can assure you that this game is a BLAST! Great writing with a TON of true laugh out load moments. I rank this HIGHER than Divinity Original 1 AND 2 but behind Baldurs Gate 3 because that game has so much content. Highly recommended!

Tried to come back to the game and encountered the ambush bug (not related to the perk). They haven't fixed it in years and require you to post a ticket to get a link to a possible fix instead of just posting the fix. The bug is game breaking, as it effects some encounters you can't avoid. They won't patch it because they've "moved on." Unacceptable.

The game itself is fine, and if that was all there is to it, it'd be an easy recommend. HOWEVER: There is a game-breaking, reproducible, and consistent bug that completely breaks any and all random encounters on the world map. If you run into a random battle, you're essentially softlocked, and the only solution is reloading. This has been a known bug for years, there's a bunch of different fixes out there that users sussed out, none of which are going to be completely reliable for any given…

the Wasteland 3 soundtrack is way better than the soundtrack to an extremely mid video game ought to be. i do feel like this cover does really capture how absolutely unhinged [laudatory] the abolitionist movement got in the leadup to the civil war.

    57) Wasteland 3. At this point arguably a better Fallout game than the Fallout games, hitting the right mixture of grimness and goofiness for the post-apocalyptic world, and with strong tactical design. Most of all, though, has an *incredible* soundtrack of reworked classics.

Game was enjoyable enough until I stumbled upon a game-breaking bug ("missing DLC"). Said bug corrupts all saves made during a DLC part of the game (Steeltown, for me), and the only way to go around it is to install a player-made beta version and reload a non-DLC save, thus losing hours of gameplay. It's been six (6) years and the publisher couldn't be bothered to fix this. I can't be bothered to leave a positive eval either.

Coming from Wasteland 2, this was just weaker. The tutorial mission is amazing but the further in you get the more lackluster the world and story becomes, everthing is surface level with no depth. Each fight plays out the exact same, and the game is completely buggy with an abrupt, unsatisfying end. Angela's arguement is insane and the fact that she is painted as the 'good' option is wild.

Great game, loved it. However, as other sated, it is completely bugged out. Random encounters just make you stuck on the map, and only solution is to load the save, and hope you won't hit it anymore. I value my time and after an hour of tries I got bored of hitting the bugged wall over an over. Absolute shame such a great game got abandoned. Hope that maybe Wasteland 4 could be made.

Can not recommend this game for 2 COMMON bugs apparently - Saving the game manually sometimes the game doesn't actually register and when you load the game surprise you're somewhere else - Random encounters bug ever since April 2023, you cannot exit encounter even after killing all enemies. This is still not fixed in 2026. Once they fix those bugs, I might return because the game is good otherwise.

The base game is really good. They re-tooled some of the baffling things about Wasteland 2, and basically every aspect of the game is better. Decisions feel impactful, the combat is kind of XCOM-y, and the goofiness is still very present. I was genuinely conflicted about how to handle the main quest. That said... The DLCs are poop. The game is hardcoded to run at 60 or 30 FPS with vsync on (not adaptive sync), game scripts run out of sync if you run it at any higher framerate which leads to stuck encounters, DLC bugs, mission script bugs. The default setting is unlimited FPS. The game is completely abandoned by the devs and they long since stopped all work on their Unity games and moved onto UE5 for their next game. This game is abandonware.

"Every monster was a human first" Well, the Wasteland game series has a difficult fate. The original Wasteland became a starting point for post-apocalyptic RPG games. In our time, it's a product for "their own". And it's damn good. Mechanically, Wasteland 3 feels like any modern turn-based RPG. This game is almost wholly responsible for me getting into CRPGs, its post-apocalyptic setting and story tone were immediate, while the gameplay reminded me of playing fallout 3 but from a top-down, isometric point of view and I could not get enough. Not because the game is bad, it’s actually really good in many ways, but because the bugs eventually made it impossible for me to enjoy. The turn-based combat is solid. This is a fun game, so I'm happy with it. But let me tell you what it's not, lest you come with wrong expectations. This is not a Jagged-Alliance-like tactical shooter. This is instead more like a classical RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world without magic. You defeat your enemies mostly based on your stats and items, not tactical maneuvering. See, in JA games, every battle would start with the enemy having a defensive advantage and you trying to break in. You'd try to locate and then…

Do get the DLC but be aware that the late game DLC has a very steep difficulty curve, and you will need to be high level, with lots of exploration skills at max level, you will need to use plenty of deployables and buffs to get through some of the tougher areas, I wasn't prepared for it and had to knock the difficulty level…

I didn't expect the music in this game to be as good as it was. I'm ashamed to admit that Wasteland 3 sat in my backlog for far too long, but once I started playing it, I couldn't stop. I had a great time from start to finish, and I even managed to get the November Reigns ending. I'll definitely be replaying this game at some point.

Wasteland 3 is far from a perfect game, but you know why I love it so goddamn much? Its a new story. New factions, new characters. New themes! Also you get to slaughter Pinkertons while a distorted voice sings out Power in a Union

Back to Solasta: Crown of The Magister. Playing the Palace of Ice DLC. My wife and I keep looking for other co-op games like this, but the only one we've really enjoyed was Wasteland 3. If you have other suggestions, I'd love to hear them. What we've tried so far: BG3, Rogue Trader, Jagged Alliance 3.

Wasteland 3 is one of those rare RPGs that keeps poking you in the ribs even when you’re just looting a trash can. The writing is razor-sharp, the dialogue constantly throws you into morally gray messes where “right” and “wrong” are more like tired suggestions, and every choice feels a little uncomfortable in the best way. It’s a long game if you want to see everything, but I never felt dragged along because the world is packed with tiny, delightful details: weapon descriptions, throwaway…

I was playing on "Wastelander" difficulty and progression just felt bad. My characters dropped off hard, enemies…
