The game is set in the near future and sees players assume the role of freelance spy Richard Conway, who is tasked with infiltrating buildings to fulfil assignments from various clients. To do so, the player must… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

A fun spy thriller puzzle game. The game also allows you to make choices that slightly alter the outcome of the story. Also has a great soundtrack. You can probably finish it in about 4-5 hours.

Gunpoint is an amazing stealth puzzle game. The missions are entertaining and can be completed in a couple of minutes, keeping gameplay fast-paced and engaging. The conversations throughout the game are fit the overall tone perfectly and have a bit of humour here and there. The gadgets and abilities of the character are a blast to use, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the gameplay. One of the standout features …

Quite a short game, I completed the story in 3 hours, but the gameplay is very satisfying with rewarding puzzles. The art is great, but the writing in particular is the best part. Picked this up dirt cheap in the sale but I recommend buying this game for sure.

This is a lovely little puzzle game. It centers on a hacking mechanic that allows you to rewire different devices to each other, up to and including your enemies' guns! There's also an unusual jump mechanic with a fun in-universe explanation - all the writing is fun and punchy, actually. In all, it's a very simple game, and it's quite short - I've played it twice now, once on this account and once on my brother's, …

Way too good. "Short" puzzle experience that will make you laugh out loud with a nice noir/futuristic story. On top of the good puzzles the game is a good and simple sandbox, you are kind of forced to have fun and experiment. If you like hacker games, stealth games or games in general play this indie gem.

Critics, per Wikipedia
Gunpoint was positively received by critics, attaining a score of 83/100 from review aggregator Metacritic. The game was widely praised for its gameplay, art style, music, and writing; while its short length was a common criticism. Eurogamer awarded the game 8/10 and wrote "'Always leave them wanting more,' goes the old showbiz adage, and Gunpoint certainly does that." GameSpot's review was more critical of the game's length, awarding it 7.5/10 and describing it as "the start of something great, but without more content, it feels too much like the appetizer to a main course." Destructoid gave the game 9.5/10 and called it "a hallmark of excellence," noting that "its short length might be…

A stealthy hacking game that knew the simple joys of throwing someone out a window. store.steampowered.com/app/206190/G...

Gunpoint The same developers as Tactical Breach Wizards, and just as much defenestration, this was one of tho games back in the day that made me really adore the indie game scene. So you can blame things like this and FTL for my love of Indies, and I still count Gunpoint as one of the best.
positive · AI labelView post →Tonight we're playing the game Gunpoint, which of course means the return... of Her
neutral · AI labelView post →Tactical Breach Wizards (wizards.cool) is my choice. It's from a tiny team, and oozes with charm and character. It's from the same team that did Heat Signature and Gunpoint. It's such a wonderful, fun game.

neutral · AI labelView post →Gunpoint, a very funny, interesting take on the stealth hacker game genre. Also it let you punch cops in the face...a LOT!!!(there's a archivement for doing it 100 times) store.steampowered.com/app/206190/G...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An Indie Masterpiece. Short, Fun, playable on a potato machine and absolutely worth the price. I really enjoyed it and hope there will be a second Gunpoint with even more levels, upgrades and shop items. Maybe even an amazing workshop support with not just levels, but also new enemies, new gadgets and new outfits. Would totally pay 19€ for that. Sadly there is no Gunpoint or Heat Signature on GOG. Prefer that platform more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this sums it up pretty well: 14 dead. 37 injured. 20 jobs. $13,000. I've had better weeks. They don't let me name names on this blog, but the person behind the hit I was investigating is dead now. In fact, I may have killed more people than I actually avenged here. The trigger man's dead. That would have felt good if I hadn't just taken a seven story body slam. I don't know. I guess I picked the least ♥♥♥♥♥♥ of two incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sides. Maybe that doesn't matter.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like some achievements sometimes because some achievements are clever like that one in Gunpoint or those ones in The Stanley Parable but y'know what yeah if achievements are really that important to a game they could just be in the game itself but they aren't, so
neutral · AI labelView post →Gunpoint still has my all time favourite achievement lmao
positive · AI labelView post →It's called "Gunpoint" but you can't get into a gunfight without screwing up the level

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple and short puzzle game. Cheesy dialogue choices but I find it funny enough. Had fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good short game that doesn't overstay its welcome, and I really did love the way in which the gameplay allows for all sorts of different approaches (fundamentally it's a stealth game but you can choose to play either as a ghost or a murderous slasher villain stalking the shadows) and I really did like how the story unfolds itself, and how player choice and agency matters. That and the ability to rewired circuitry in buildings opens up so many different ways to go through levels. I for one love…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I decided to check out the rest of the defenestration trilogy after Tactical Breach Wizards. As the first game in the trilogy, this one is a lot smaller and narrower in scope, but it's overall very well put together and it has fun and interesting mechanics. The story is a bit mid but still entertaining. Overall I recommend it

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heavy puzzle solving game to the point where it gets annoying. Not my taste.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely one of the best games I've ever played. The screenshots may not look like much, but it's one of the most unique games I've ever played, blending stealth, puzzles, platforming, and action into a fun little noir-themed package. My only complaint is that this game's incredible soundtrack isn't on streaming services. Look up "Gunpoint OST - Dig" on YouTube and you'll want to buy the game for the OST alone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice little game that sat in my inventory for years, definitely fun for the couple hours it lasts. Has good mechanics, a tense story, humor and tons of fan made levels, recommended, should have played earlier.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredible game. The dialogues witty, the mechanics are up to snuff. I had fun with the story. only issue is after my first playthough it kept crashing at startup.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid puzzle game, plenty of room for creative solutions even if the battery mechanic discourages them somewhat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game. Fun, pretty easy to understand. It’s challenging, but forgiving. The thing is, it’s only about two hours long. I’d say wait for a sale if youre gonna buy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice little game ! Atmosphere is on point, dialog is fun, borders on quippy without crossing the line. All the hacking and puzzle mechanics are very satisfying to use ! Only pain point is that the video settings are horrible if your screen is more than 1920*1080.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This blog was partially triggered by @mikebithell.bsky.social 's Vampirium 1997 announcement. A big shoutout to @pentadact.com 's fantastic game Gunpoint as well.
neutral · AI labelView post →Really cool game, way too short, but worth the time. I am sure I could play some levels better, I enjoyed the gadgets as well as the rewire logic and mechanic. Not too difficult puzzle, yet sometimes it took a while to realize how to get things done. Well done game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cracked this game some 10 years ago when I was a broke little kid, I'm glad I remembered it and got to buy it properly. It's just as fun as the first time, probably even better now that I have a brain to think with to solve the levels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gunpoint is a good game. So why is this review negative? I have a policy where I expect at least 1 hour of content per $ spent on a game, and this game only provided me with 6 hours of content for $10. The game has low replayability value, and I will not be returning to it. Disclaimer aside, Gunpoint is a solid stealth puzzler based on maneuvering around guards and manipulating the electronic environment (doors, lights, cameras) to remain hidden or cause chaos. Nothing about it stands out as…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-punched a guy 400 times while he was on a floor, got an achievement -threw an enforcer out of an window love this 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The day this game came out was the day I made my Steam account and it was my first game. It'll always be special to me. But it's also just an amazing Puzzle Adventure Hack-them-up thing. It's so simple yet complex in just the right way and so rewarding. 10/10 Would reccomend Runs well ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this little game. It had a clever story with entertaining writing, enjoyable mechanics paired with levels that made me think a little, and an overall pleasant presentation. I will probably go through it again for all the achievements.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game. It's what, 4 hours, less than? I wasn't really even trying to speedrun it, in fact I went for A+ rating on every mission, replaying them until I got it 'perfect'. It's fun to do! It's fun to figure out the most efficient way to beat each level. Anyway, Gunpoint is a very straightforward game. It almost feels like a Flash game, but with fairly nice production value except for the font that was chosen. It seems intentional that everything is presented in like Times New Roman or…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic little stealth/puzzle game where you jump around buildings, through windows, and into guards with 60 km/h. It oozes with that early 2010s charm that's missing from many current day indie games, but doesn't suffer from any of the cringey writing pitfalls. It's just a damn charming 5 hour experience that I can't help but recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice mechanics, good humor, and sweet gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't have much to say other than the game is great. And as many people mentioned before me the ways you can approach each mission/environment varies -you can either go full ambush mode or you can go full stealth, in which I did, excluding the last mission-, the soundtrack being a good fit with its detective theme and it also slaps, the humor is great especially with the first 30s-1min of the game, the gameplay is fun with the ridiculous jump mechanic and hacking through Crosslink and the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not really a big fan of stealth games, but I liked this one a lot. It's mechanics are simple to grasp, but there's still some depth there. In fact, one of my biggest criticisms is that it felt like there was still space to explore the mechanics when the game ended; but the user-made levels help address that. Narratively, the plot is wry and darkly comedic, which is very fitting. Definitely fun and recommended.
