What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 253 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (2,286 of 2,432 positive).
Players praise Hotel Architect as a fun, polished management sim reminiscent of Two Point Hospital. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note pathing issues with staff and guests that can frustrate gameplay. [4][5] The game is widely recommended for its relaxing yet engaging loop and charming art style. [6][7][8]

It is fun, but I would wait to buy it. 1) the available selection for decorations and furniture is way too small, which doesn't make decorating fun 2) the game is extremely repetitive. The difference between each scenario is minimal, and you just end up building and upgrading the same rooms over and over again. 3) cheaper guests typically phase out as you upgrade your hotel, so some amenities become obsolete, but …

This game is pretty great, but there are a lot of small issues that are going to plague your playthrough. 1.) The pathing of your worker NPCs, like cleaners, are terrible. There could be a laundry room right next to a bedroom, but the cleaners will still travel to a far away laundry room to grab what they need. Guests will start complaining about their bed not being made and your rating will go down. 2.) The guest …

TL;DR: It's very, very good, especially for a studio that seems to consist of about 4 people. This is an absurdly fun little builder/management game. The campaign is well paced for difficulty. You start with a very straightforward tutorial to learn the basics of construction tools and guest needs, then there are a couple of additional levels (Santorini and Paris) that start introducing more complex topics before …

I bought this game on the 22nd and have 72 hours in this game. I love this game, its not complicated like some management sims. I wakeup wanting to play this game every day, and before you know it 2 hours has gone by. I love the amount of freedom you have to create your hotel. The scenarios are not incredibly difficult to achieve, making it enjoyable. The one I did struggle with was in Vegas - the slot machines. If …

After 54 hours, completing almost every scenario and earning 5 stars on most of them, I can confidently recommend this game. I'd personally rate it around 7.5–8/10. The game is easy to get into and does a great job of introducing its mechanics. Managing your hotel is satisfying, the characters have a lot of personality, and the art style is charming. The mechanics are simple without feeling shallow at first, making …

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Entertaining and good sim, but I cannot recommend it because it has several obnoxious glitches that come up during the natural course of gameplay. One of the most glaring is the "insufficient cutlery" glitch in which you have plenty of cutlery (I assume that means plate shelves as there's nothing else that seems to give cutlery) and yet your workers get confused and wander endlessly in circles. I built three each of dishwashers, sinks, plate shelves etc etc and still they couldn't service a…

Super duper highly recommended! This is exactly how I would expect a management/tycoon game to feel. You build functional rooms (e.g. gym and spa) and hire staff to run your hotel. You have to meet certain criteria to achieve a higher star rating, and your guests become pickier as you progress (requesting room service,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hotel Architect is a management and construction simulation that sits somewhere between Project Highrise and Two Point–style tycoon games, with a strong emphasis on spatial design, guest flow, and service efficiency rather than pure financial spreadsheets. At its core, Hotel Architect is about designing functional hotels from the ground up. You place rooms, corridors, elevators, utilities, and service areas while juggling guest expectations, staff workflows, and budget constraints. The game…

The game has several locations to build your hotels at. First few locations were really easy and showcase the cozy side of the game. The location I'm currently on now (New York) introduced a few more challenges (less space but more floors, limited starting money) and I'm having a blast. I had to really learn the behind-the-scenes stuff to keep the…

I completed the campaign and all of the bonus objectives and overall I do recommend this game. It is fun to play, but it is not perfect. There are a few things that I really struggled with or found frustrating to deal with - so the rest of this review is really for the developers if they just happen to read this. - At first when…

neutral · AI labelView post →Early access? Are you sure? This game plays better than most fully released titles. As far as gameplay goes, if you enjoy tycoon style management games such as the Two Point series, this will be a homerun. Its relaxing and engaging with small humorous quirks in its details and graphics. Its more fun than difficult but just challenging enough to keep it interesting and keep you playing. This is probably the best game I've bought in the last year. Buy this game.

neutral · AI labelView post →Despite being in Early Access, this game offers a small but complete experience. If you like tycoon style games, you'll like this one! It's simple and fun with a nice gameplay loop and interesting enough mechanics. I'm really enjoying a chill time with this one! There are some quality of life things I'd like to see implemented in the full launch that would improve the experience: - A fourth, faster 'fast-forward'. This would help the early game (and a large chunk of the campaign) where…

neutral · AI labelView post →Free trial weekend. I don't think this is a bad game, but I do think that the way it seems to try to stand out and add to the gameplay loop really isn't for me. Retiring staff, having to call and dismiss construction crews manually for any small addition or change, staff constantly demanding manual wage increases, and the sheer amount of staff needed just add to the tedium, IMO. I appreciate what may have been an attempt at adding some challenge, but this isn't really that, is my take.…

Its a great game for playing after a hard day at work, its not mentally taxing but has enough to do to keep you highly entertained. neutral · AI labelView post →Very fun management game, hits the right balance of depth, customisability, and avoiding tedium. If the Devs are looking for feedback: a map with less verticality and much more land area would be nice. Similar to resorts in Greece where there are lots of smaller chalet buildings with pools, bars, and facilities in between.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a hotelier myself, I love playing this game. There are some parts that are lacking, but it's very enjoyable. I just hope the floor limit in the early stages can be raised in sandbox mode though.

positive · AI labelView post →The game offers players a simulation experience which treats chaos as an essential component of gameplay. The game has similarities to various tycoon games yet it presents numerous features which set it apart from other games. The situation creates an uncommon…

Though presented lightly, this game deserves a spotlight for hotel sim scene. Gameplay: You're both the owner and decision maker for a lot of things. Guests comes at various types, and you'll want to manage…

Sometimes I just want to design the perfect hotel, the Sims style, without having challenges. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ridiculously good, think two point series but smaller tighter missions. Only played since 1.0 so can't comment beyond that. It's like theme hospital and two point museum/series but with smaller maps, and so more micromanagement of your staff and exact placement of each item. You'll only have ~50 guests at max and usually 20+ so you will care about and manage most metrics that matter directly, like managing employee traits or positioning of the annoying seats, but the maps are small and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I understand this game just got 1.0 full released BUT i hope the devs will continue to update patches and bugs. Its a good game overall just that some certain wierd stuff for one example i placed a dishwasher in the restaurant kitchen but the chefs kept on using the sink basin instead and washing 1 plate at a time like... omg so slowwww. lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve played about 52 hours of Hotel Architect, and I actually really like it. It starts simple with small rooms and basic guests, but slowly turns into a deeper management game where you’re balancing room layouts and guest types. What I like most is the progression — unlocking services like restaurant and gym, and eventually attracting richer guests makes the hotel feel like it’s growing. It can be a bit confusing or slow at times, especially when something suddenly stops working, but it’s…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been dying for a good hotel sim, and this is it. For an early access game, it's a ton of fun and I haven't spotted any glitches or problems. Definitely needs more variety in the decorations and such but you do unlock more as time goes on. It's full of tiny details, luxury, planning, strategy, and building. I might be a little addicted.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5/5 (*for an Early Access) I NEED more of this game! This is an amazing beginning for a management sim but I am expecting more over time. The game is still in EA but it already feels like it is becoming part of my permanent rotation. The replayability is pretty high with sandbox modes in multiple areas, though still currently limited by the small selection of customization options. Overall, I love this game and I'm excited to see what comes in the future for it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's too limited on design choices like carpets, and colors of wallpaper and flooring to make it enjoyable. The way that solid muted items don't exist or have low ratings while wild colors and patterns that are supposed to represent high end interior design is ultimately hideous but yet has the highest rating is sad. There is ultimately a lack of variety of design choices in game to make it enjoyable I'm sorry to say. It feels everything has to be extreme to entice characters but ultimately…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty solid management sim thats a bit on the casual side. All my hours were put into doing all the campaign missions, which I found there was a decent bit of variation between them at least for the second half of missions. Gameplay loop is pretty straight forward, you design some rooms, guests check in and you provide them amenities from a gym to a bar, give them entertainment and so on. Get tech points from your guests checking in to research new stuff and build up even further. Cash flow…

Simple to play, and I love all the different characters & the requirements to have them at your hotel - so cute & funny.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While fun at times, it feels but undercooked at the current moment, which is why I can't recommend it...YET, but I will come back to this game and this review closer to when it's leaving EA because the parts I did enjoy are really fun, such as the building. Building out a space feels rewarding, and being able to go vertically multiple levels is a feature that building games do not make use of enough, despite it being a basic foundational concept of building structures. Unfortunately though,…

Replayability is pretty high with the different maps, customer types, research tree, and new items unlocks.
