What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 192 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (569 of 663 positive).
Players praise the game as a fun, humorous spiritual successor to Theme Hospital and Two Point Hospital. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game is easy and relaxing, with a focus on storytelling and voice acting. [1][4][5] Several players report bugs and save corruption issues that hinder enjoyment. [6][7][8]

I really wanted to love this game, it started good, sadly, the number of bugs and clearly untested systems makes it impossible to enjoy past certain point. When scumbags at EA bought Bullfrog an entire sub-genre of management sims died out, and it has taken over 20 years for succesors to decide to continue that style... sadly, the original Bullfrog team also returned, so anyone trying to emulate or supass them it´s …

I haven't beaten it yet but it's adorable. Very easy game, don't expect a challenge, just fun, fairly mindless clicking around and organizing a hospital in space. It's basically Two-Point Hospital/Theme Hospital re-skinned for space, the campiness is a bit better imo. It's significantly easier than those games, but it also doesn't have the exhausting, over-extended missions where you're waiting for ages for the …

It could not be more apparent that Galacticare is a love letter to Mucky Foot's Startopia from 2001, and for it to be successfully so is a delight and a triumph. In a modern world of muddy, focus-less mediocrity even at the AA level of game development, Galcticare manages to be a really very well-acquitted management sim, told through some excellent writing that is intelligent, earnest, economical, and deeply funny. …

Excellent comedy hospital sim. You don't really beat games like this, made it all the way to chapter 5 before burn out but that's ok. Had a blast with my time with it. If I had one complaint is the heavy requirement to have everything decorated to the hilt every level or suffer severe mood penalties. For those who like that kinda thing, this is the game for you. But just for me personally, it doesn't matter what sim …

It's Theme Hospital in space. Great gameplay and fun dialogues (kudos to voice actors!). Would buy again.
Summarised from 34 of the 256 public posts collected about this game; every point cites the posts behind it ([n] opens the post) and the split is counted from the posts’ own ratings. Updated Oct 13, 2026. How summaries are made
78% of the 192 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Galacticare. The complaint that keeps coming up: frequent bugs and save corruption issues. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Galacticare was often compared to Theme Hospital and Two Point Hospital. Softpedia summarized: "Galacticare will be a hit with anyone who’s into both science fiction and efficiency tweaking." CGMagazine called it "a fun romp" and said "the comedy lands well". PC Games said the game seems like "a fun pastime" but feels simple and lacks innovation. Gamereactor gave Galacticare a score of seven out of ten and noted that the game isn't as refined as Two Point Studios' games. Rock Paper Shotgun suggested Galacticare for fans of management games, however, they mentioned that it may not appeal to those who are not already fans of the genre.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as I tried to love this game, I can't. The game is hilarious. The process is smooth, and the levels (at least the first three) are easy to dominate without feeling *too* easy. You get into the groove fast. And it's really fun. And then the game save corruptions begin. I have done all that I can, scrubbed my entire computer, used both the steam AND the xbox version. I cannot stop the save from getting corrupted, and thus cannot process in the game at all. Sometimes it corrupts on the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My new favourite hospital tycoon game. Or just favourite tycoon game period. Management layer is perfect grounding: everything works smoothly, you always know what's going on, what can you do and how. I was never disoriented, lost or betrayed by game acting differently from what I wanted. Even amidst hectic crises, only thing in the way of success was my very-much-possible mismanagement. From building to restructuring, from patients to doctors, everything you want to manage, can be done…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a fan of what this company has done, and one of the old Bullfrog fans who is still bitter. Unfortunately, I just can't recommend this game. This game has good artwork, and writing. The humor is great, and they nailed the creative aspects of this game, imo. I especially like playing a game that is actually positive, as it involved actually helping people rather than killing. That's a good change. I completed the story and the game got bored after only 27 hours of play time, and I'm not…

neutral · AI labelView post →After the initial debacle that was WFTO's dodgy release, i had hoped that this development team had learnt some lessons... Galacticare is Two Point Hospital, downgraded, with a thin veneer space theme that might as well not be there. The gameplay loop for every...single...level is copy paste rooms until you can deal with the footfall. That is literally all you have to do to win each level. Then if you can be bothered you can add decorations to 100% a level...wow. Honestly the most boring "re…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Galacticare is endearingly absurd. Dry wit, likeable characters, and surprisingly competent voice acting accompany you through a series of themed scenarios. Unfortunately, Galacticare is held back by its tedium. Decorating - something that should be an entertaining and aesthetics-driven affair, is unfortunately baked into the completionist's gameplay loop, requiring an absolutely ungodly amount of micromanagement and clicking. "Making it through" a level is incredibly easy. In fact, the bulk of…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I usually like this kind of game, and this could be fun if... The game randomly crashes and corrupts your entire save, losing hours of progress. It has happened 3 times in 4 levels. I just CANNOT anymore with this game. This SERIOUSLY needs patching! Cannot recommend to anyone in this state.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's exactly what it looks like: Theme Hospital In Space. Patients come into your orbital hospital, you erect specialised rooms to treat the various absurd maladies they've acquired, it's a familiar cycle. What sets it apart from its obvious modern competitor in Two Point Hospital, aside from its spaceborne setting, is its higher focus on storytelling, with a delightfully funny rapport between a good number of characters of all races as you bounce from planet to planet. The voice acting is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are old enough to remember the likes of Startopia (And the original Theme Hospital) or enjoy the Two Point series and wish it had more of a Space theme, this is probably for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The mechanics aren't as technically complex as Two Point Hospital but the writing's good for a chuckle, the mission gimmicks are fair and not frustrating and it's only £25. Plus the devs clearly have the same autism as me so I want them to keep making spiritual successors.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my top 5 games of all time is Theme Hospital. I understand most people probably got 20 hours out of that title, but I sank about 300 hours into playing and min/maxing the everloving heck out of Theme Hospital (and then Two Point Hospital, its rightful heir) so that's my cred for this review. I played the first two story scenarios and was impressed with the visuals, the polish, the voice acting, the vibe, etc. But wasn't instantly hooked. After the third scenario, something clicked and…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played this game obsessively, and I have a fair amount to say. I will keep the short review here at the top. It is as follows: This game is very fun and has a good brand of humor. If you like the first mission, you'll enjoy the rest of the game. It has glitches and bugs, but only really shows them after extended play and don't majorly impact the experience much. If you can tolerate that, this game's great, would highly recommend. For the longer form review, I have attempted to 100%…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, and I know that it is its own game, I wish this game was more like War for the Overworld. It would have been better served by being able to build/shape out walls and then paint room tiles than simply stretching rooms into awkward required dimensions. It feels very Theme Hospital in space, and while that's great, we do kind of already have Two Point Hospital and this just feels like Two Point Hospital in space. Sketching out my own walls lets me see and create a flow for patients more…

neutral · AI labelView post →This game is peak woke garbage. Takes 20 minutes to hit you: snide jabs at “traditional gender roles,” then the hiring screen drops the mask. Every white male applicant? Instant “psychopath” trait. Totally “random,” right. Meanwhile 90 % of humans are black/brown in a setting where those people couldn’t possibly afford interstellar healthcare. Cherry on top: your boss is a black woman with the mandatory ugly dye streak and rainbow haircut. Hardcore DEI checklist, zero subtlety. Was literally…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played about 16 hours of the game on the Playstation 5 and really enjoyed my time there. But I wanted to see how the game behaves when using a mouse instead of a controller (it's much faster to navigate things). Finishing the levels is not hard, but finishing the level making sure not a single space of useable space goes to waste can be a lot more challenging. I spent a bit too much time designing/moving/re-designing my layout to have something that would satisfy the level and my own OCD.…

neutral · AI labelView post →Encountered a game-breaking bug in Chapter 6 (49/50 clonal cysts, no way to get the last one). No fix available on the discussion forums. No way to reload progress and try again without restarting the entire level, due to the game's lack of checkpoints or prior saves. I was having fun before that happened, but do not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The bugs are pretty bad. I was able to get all the way to the bug people, with only minor bugs, but then things really started breaking. It's a shame, because I really love the humor and the game otherwise, but it became unplayable on the bug hospital, ironically.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I couldn't even play the game as I got hit with a corrupted save file first thing, before even starting the tutorial. In searching the issue online, it seems like this game crashes a lot and I have no interest in playing a game that crashes more often than it runs.

positive · AI labelView post →I have mixed feelings about this game. It is a good game at the core. I want to like it, but so many little things that have to do with the experience as a whole drive me crazy. Most of these, however, can be fixed if the devs are listening. GOOD Uniqueness It is a spiritual successor to Theme Hospital and Two Point Hospital, but not a reskin. There are many new mechanics, almost everything works a bit differently than in the previous games. Compared to it's predecessors, I would say it is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lost my entire save due to a bug. Subsequent option to roll back also failed. Only other option was to start over. When they have you 'submit a bug report', it's not automated, you actually have to save the file and upload it to their website??? WTF, it's 2026, not 2006... I'd wait to get this game until they get their code ironed out. It's fun when it's playable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game, it seemed to have everything I like in this genre. But i was just constantly slapped by the character exposition and it's very far left moralising. In the first 5 minutes, I've heard 3 jokes about capitalism bad, 2 jokes about wages bad, and how "traditional gender roles" are one of the two worst things that came out of the 50's. You might not care about this stuff, and if you don't you might enjoy it, the mechanics seem solid, art style is great, seems polished…

neutral · AI labelView post →This game is awesome; this is the spiritual successor to Theme Hospital I craved. I did not connect with Two Point Hospital for some reason. But the style, pace and gameplay clicked for me with this. The writing in this is so sharp and funny, the voice actors are great. It has a real sense of personality and humor that is not really matched by anything else in this genre of game. The intros to each level brought a smile to my face like Dungeon Keeper did when I first played that in the 90s.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was worried about buying Galacticare because I had read some reviews about crashes and bugs, but I’m happy to say that for me the game played all the way through to end credits. That was >100 hours of goodness for <$20 US after sale discount. The game did crash once (early in that period) and did require me to restart the final hospital (late in that period), and it had a few smaller bugs along the way, but none of the problems were gamebreakers or showstoppers. I created manual backups…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone who really enjoys the Two Point games, this one is a very nice addition. It's funny at times and not too hard, so nice for a casual good time. I haven't tried the hard mode yet. I think I'm at the 5th part of the story now and I've run into two bugs so far. One time, a consultant just stood there, not doing its job, so I dismissed them for the rest of that chapter. The other time, a patient just stood there, not moving and getting very angry. It never died and I wasn't able to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am not, typically, a hospital sim fan as a rule, but with this being Brightrock, that didn't matter! I got exactly what I expected; a very enjoyable management game with that particular Brightrock humour. As usual, top-notch work. It took me 71 hours to 5-star all the campaign missions, sandboxes and the expansion (which came out during the latter half of my playthrough). The campaign was both amusing and varied enough to keep my interest, though I had about had enough by the end. (Still…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It took me almost 40 hours to 5-star every Hospital in the basegame. These forty hours have been tremendously fun. The TL;DR is a MORE FUN and thematic version of Two-Point Hospital. There's an actual story here that introduces new illnesses and their treatments. New characters and their little interactions. All tying it up in a neat bow at the end. All in all a way better experience than any other Hospital games that I have played. (And I played a lot of them.)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a lot of charm in this game, unfortunately, it's held back by a tide of bugs. Patients get stuck and can't be moved, leaving you with a permanently angry patient. Sometimes when you delete a window, the wall glitches out and can't decide if it wants to be visible or a blank square. Pathing is often frustrating, with a queue forming outside of a room instead of dispersing equally to open rooms of the same type. Sometimes dialogue skips ahead before the NPC can finish speaking. Those…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Humor is better than most but the levels all sort of play the same. After the first level it just felt like autopilot
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Graphically looks great, no bugs i have encountered, runs smoothly, good audio and music, and in general the moment to moment play is kind of fun. I love the space setting, the humour and banter is along the lines of Startopia or Dungeon keeper. Sadly even with the above, its easy, like far to easy, if you want a bit of fun and relaxing management game then maybe this is for you, but if you want it to ramp up for a challenge in the later levels (I am 8 of the 11/12 main missions through, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely characters, great voice acting and art direction. BUT: Shallow gameplay. Too easy, and not enough mechanics. Might be suitable to an audience not looking for a challenge or new to videogames (kids, casual gamers...).

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have logged 30 hours in this game as of this review, and rolled the credits on the main story, all of it playing it off of a friend's account. I have just bought it for myself anyway because the devs so completely deserve the support. This game is amazing, especially for me (both a sci-fi fan and someone with rosy memories of Theme Hospital back in the day). The writing is great, the visuals are great, the music and voice acting are great... Please buy this game and support the creators.
