What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 168 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,521 of 1,659 positive).
Players widely consider Crossworlds the best entry in the King's Bounty series, praising its depth and replayability. [1][2][3] Many note the game has aged well, with some highlighting its 4K support and charming art style. [4][3][5] A few reviewers report technical issues, including crashes and a controversial launcher update. [6][7][8]

The game WAS nice, but publishers stole the game from original developers, alienated it from, the country where game was made and now, after 25 years rolling out a launcher that have great potential to steal your personal data and break the game FUBAR at the same time.

It's the best of the King's Bounty /Homm games. The one that you keep going back to. Get this one and not Armored Princess. Armored Princess is included in this game. Enjoy!

Can't believe how good this game holds, to this day. I'm playing it on 4k monitor and the fact that a game made in 2010 even HAS a 4k graphics option is insane. Many of the current games perform worse, which just shows how much care went into making this title. I know it might not look very exciting to the new players, but to me it's been a comfort game for many years. Highly recommend for cozy evenings of exploring.

I love it. Its amazing. Almost 1000 hours later and I still play it. Thats all that needs to be said.

The King's Bounty franchise as a whole is an astonishingly well composed saga that really keeps you hooked throughout all of the games, but this one, Crossworlds, is by far my personal favourite. It has the best battle dynamic among all of them and the countless new additions are really fantastic. If you've never played any of the games and would like to try out one of them, go with this one. The game also has great …

90% of the 168 Steam reviewers we collected recommend King's Bounty: Crossworlds. The complaint that keeps coming up: some campaigns have bugs causing crashes. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
The game holds a score of 78/100 on Metacritic and an aggregate of 75.7% on GameRankings. King's Bounty: Crossworlds received an 8/10 from Brett Todd of GameSpot, who said that the "combat is still no walk in the park", and although felt to be similar from its predecessors, he was ultimately positive to the game. 60 of 221 · most liked firstit's one of the first games i fell in love with when i was a kid and somewhere along the line i picked it back up as a web-based game, so it remains one of the 2 games I'm halfway competent at still playing. (the other one is King's Bounty)
positive · AI labelView post →Game Boy Color has these wonderful ports (I guess they can be called official "demakes") of Heroes of Might & Magic games that feel like a missing link between Heroes and King's Bounty. First game is basically Heroes 1, but the second game is more like Heroes Greatest Hits.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The King's Bounty game are on deep discount on Steam, and if you like turn based my army of monsters fights yours combat it's really good. The story is such that I click click past it at this point. It's not bad or anything just trite and only sometimes amusing. But the games, solid fun.
positive · AI labelView post →I've seen someone else mention these, but I have to recommend them as well: **Maniac Mansion** (1987). It's the first SCUMM (_Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion_) engine game that all its successors use (Indy 3 & 4, Monkey Island, Sam and Max Hit The Road, etc). Really hard game play from what I can remember, and it has a sequel too, Day of the Tentacle (1993), which is absolutely hilarious. **Laser Squad** (1988) was among my favourites growing up, they are the precursor to UFO/XCOM…

neutral · AI labelView post →This is probably my favorite game of all time. The replay ability is incredible. This game comes from an original SEGA game in the early 1990s. This game came BEFORE HoMM.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely addicting and this comes from someone who doesn't play any strategies otherwise. Lots of units, artifacts, spells and skills combined with the fact that each playthrough has a degree of randomly decided aspects to it (shop inventories, treasures, position of enemies on the map and contents of their armies, plus a few more) allow for high replayability. On top of that, I'd say the game aged quite gracefully in terms of graphics thanks to its visual style (I feel like all the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best in the original series. You don't need any of the others, really, unless you want achievements (only Warriors of the North and Dark Side have them). But this one has the best campaign (tied with The Legend, maybe), an editor to create your own maps and challenges and some extra content. This old gem aged really well. It's still fun. The setting, art style, the writing... All have a very genuine touch to it. Very old school and a bit goofy, but brings a lot of nostalgia. It's very easy…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7/10 Didn't finish the AP campaign. Advice: install the directx redist to minimize crashes and use cheat engine to speed up the game engine on combat, even on fast option combat animations are really slow and you might as well just use cheat engine to make game speed x3 while in combat and outside when navigating long parts of the map that you already cleared. The game has its ups and downs but I decided to not finish it based on how monotonous the fights at lv 40 get and how the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After so many years King's Bounty still one of the best TBS on the market. Basically, you love the genre you have the following options: 1. King's Bounty 2. HOMM 3 or HOMM 3 + Horn of the Abyss 3. HOMM 5 (never played but it seems good) 4. New Song of Conquest (bought, but haven't played yet) Age of Wonders and other 4X don't fit, so they cannot be really considered. Also, a viable option is Spellforce but it has RTS elements. Or some more 'tactic' games where you have arena…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"King's Bounty: Crossworlds" is a fantastic addition to the series, offering deep tactical combat, extensive character customization, and a captivating storyline. Its blend of exploration, diplomacy, and combat creates a truly immersive experience. in other words, it can be said: the game's unique world and diverse factions provide a rich and engaging setting for players to explore. With its emphasis on player choice and multiple endings, Crossworlds offers a truly replayable experience.

I struggled a bit with finding a fix, but here it is: How to fix the game crashing on startup: Find the game.ini file in the game files. On linux it will be something like: /var/home/USERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/63910/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Kings Bounty Crossworlds/ Open the file with a text editor aind the line setf ~cl_menu3d 1 Change 1 to 0 and then save. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fun and lengthy game with a battle system known from the "Heroes of Might and Magic" series. The main reason why I loved this one so much is that it is not a RTS-like game like those where you'll have to compete in a race with your opponents but rather you can take your time and build up a strong army and character at your own leisure, experiencing everything and fighting a lot of battles. That's not to say that it is easy, just that it is a different focus from the base-grabbing…

neutral · AI labelView post →Pretty good. Ending is boring. Don't go fire, the last boss is immune to it. Then you can't use your dragon either.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This old game i got with discount is now "licensed, as in i dont own it" and they are collecting data to drone strike you. Beware!

positive · AI labelView post →it's a bit shorter than the other King's Bounty games. 65 hours with the DLC. And it's the first one to have the island hopping as a mechanic, as well as many QoL improvements over the original. It's a good introduction to the series.

neutral · AI labelView post →Awesome Strategy RPG & King's Bounty game! Really as "perfect" of a game or SRPG as you're going to find imo, has so many cool, satisfying features and really fun combat. Lots of lore & story, great character development on the RPG side and tons of fun units to try in combat, Crossworlds really has it all. Def worth playing over Armored Princess since it has the awesome Orcs On The March expansion!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. There's just something about this series, it's special. You'll not find anything with quite the same vibes. I personally think this is the most challenging of the series, while Warriors of the North is probably the easiest. If you're hunting around for something that has the combat of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 but adds a little something different to the overworld that you're not gonna find elsewhere in a game like this then this is really it, accept no substitutes. It's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm kind of surprised I never wrote a review for this game in all the time I've owned it. The short version is that of the King's Bounty series, I think that this one continues to stand up as the best one ever produced. It has a lot of depth of features, highlights all the strengths of the series, has an interesting map and story to explore, and it's just fun. It's a bit dated by modern standards but hasn't really be surpassed. If you are willing to play a game for the experience and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Started King's Bounty II today. After 90 minutes of play, I guess it's pretty okay...I'm a little miffed that the game is forcing me to remember things without a glossary to refer to 😑 Anyways, here is Countess Katharine, a mage and all around girlboss...some might even call her bitchy 😂

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All I can say is how did I miss this game over a decade ago. Busy with life is my only excuse. It holds up with some of the best current RPGs and better than many. The graphical artist should have won awards for how beautiful the game looks and plays. The GUI is very user friendly and intuitive. It pulls from some of the best features of HoMM and adds many new feature that really add so much flavor and replay value. If you like RPG style games, you can't go wrong with this game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game, best of the series Orcs on the March! Found playing on average difficulty quite a test for the first 15 levels. Highly recommended. I don't normally do 2nd play through and I'm already considering it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This King’s Bounty pursues Amelie’s adventure to which her kingdom is attacked by demons, where we are sent to another world in search of someone. However this version compared to King’s Bounty: Armored Princess has a few more extras and an expansion to play, but with the same story. Compared to the previous volume, the gameplay doesn’t change much, where we have to form our team in order to progress in the game, having several side quests to do, which is a great way to evolve the character…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought it on sale for 3.74 USD, but it's certainly worth full price. 54 hours to get through the original campaign, then another 55 hours to get through the Orcs on the March expanded campaign. If that's not good value for the money, I don't know what is. I played this one back in the mid-2010s, it was the first one of this type of game I played. Had a lot of fun with it then, and again this time around. Highly recommended!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played King's Bounty: Armored Princess when I was a child and it was great experience. Recently I finished it again. The game still one on the my favorite games. I think the graphics, music, gameplay and plot fit together perfectly.

I’ll never forget getting the original King’s Bounty for the first time on the Sega Genesis. The original was an amazing experience where you collect bounties on interesting villainous…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A brilliant sequel that takes everything good about The Legend and polishes it up to make slightly better. Amelie makes a highly likable (if a bit fan-servicy) protagonist, while the new world, with its 14 islands to explore, provides a great collection of colorful settings that always keep things fresh. The writing confidently continues with its charming storybook tone but also delivers bits of solid worldbuilding like dimension-hopping demons or that unexpectedly creepy Zilgadis boss. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Earliest memories of video games were titles such as Aztec, Spy vs Spy, Frogger, King's Bounty. But what really got my eight year old mind captivated on a summer vacation in the 80s was Elite on C64. I've spent hours into the night trying to get as far away from Lave as possible, all while trying to make some profit on hauling food and computer parts. I did not understand the concept of saving and loading a saved game back then, so there was a lot of trial and error into permadeath involved.
