Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 193 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (1,212 of 1,530 positive).
Some reviewers find the gameplay janky and the controls frustrating. [1][2][3] Several players report game-breaking bugs, such as NPCs blocking progression. [4][5][6]

Great game as a kid,but horribly aged. The story and voice acting is great in this game, but everything else falls flat. The levels are uninspired and repetitive, the whole bounty hunter gimmick feels unrewaring, the combat is stiff, the controls are awful, enemies are boring, levels are confusing sometimes and overall trying to play this today is really really hard. Overall if you played this game as a kid I reccomend …

This is an ok remaster, unfortunately Star Wars: Bounty Hunter's gameplay is still just as bad as it was in 2002, the controls are bad, it's full of HP sponge enemies that can two-shot you, and your bounties will often walk right off a cliff to their deaths requiring you to restart the level if you want 100% completion. A graphical remaster was not enough, there needed to be a full gameplay update as well. This game …

I'm a big fan of this game, but that's mostly nostalgia speaking. The story is fun, the gameplay is pretty good, and you get to play as Jango. What more do you need to know? I will advise anyone looking to pick this up that the "Jango Unchained" mod is almost a necessity. That and the "AMILLIONMORE" cheat code made this a much more enjoyable experience than it originally would have been.

This game, realistically, is a mess. The camera is jank, enemies are spammed, the final three levels can be cheesed to an absurd degree, and the whole experience just feels vaguely unpolished. But I love it anyway. Why would I love such a messy game? Nostalgia plays a role, certainly - I played this game (very briefly) as a kid (but it left a very lasting impression on me anyway) - but it's not just literal …

Nostalgia at it's finest! Never beat this game as a kid. So now I can as an adult! So many memories playing this game. Such a great adventure!

neutral · AI labelView post →Good game for 2002, unacceptable "remaster" for 2024. They AI upscaled the textures and that's it. The models still look awful. Controls cannot be remapped. and they are bad. Game breaking bugs where NPCs get stuck in the door. Trying to 100% it is even worse. Sometimes you have to collect 15 optional bounties which you do by switching to your scanner, scanning every enemy 1 by 1 (and sometimes you have over 180 enemies per level) and then switching back to your guns and THEN capturing them.…

I never beat this game as a kid. I rented it for a weekend and made it to level 3. Do you remember renting videogames? This was not true. I was not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It hurts me to say it, but I don't recommend the game. I can totally ignore the aged graphics and shooting. I also don't care about the civilians ALWAYS run in the middle of a shootout and get gunned down in the crossfire. What makes this game unplayable for me is the atrocious level design. Remember the Jedi Academy levels? It's exactly this. I've spent my time backtracking, running in circles and revisiting the same locations again and again before using a walkthrough in order to find my way…

Pros: -Great story. -I really liked that the game doesn't hold your hand; you have to figure out the way forward yourself. -The updated graphics look good and performance is smooth. Cons: -The controls are awful—you're constantly fighting the camera. -Full of technical issues. For example, on slopes and descending elevators, you can only look downwards. I also ran into T-posing NPCs. -The AI is brain-dead. They often just…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am unsure who gave this game a thumbs up but they are wrong! Bold statement ik here is how. The game was actually ported over broken meaning old game breaking bugs and even some new ones just for you! The Npc is actually broken, it will randomly stay in door ways blocking progression and their is nothing you can do to move it, not even checkpoint reload. The Camera is the worst I have seen in any game, and that is not exaggeration. The game functions on a lock system well every time…

This classic puts you in the boots of Jango Fett, offering a story-driven bounty hunting adventure that ties directly into the prequel era. After spending a couple dozen hours with the remaster, here is a streamlined look at what it does well and where it shows its age. Visuals, UI, and Performance The UI remains simple and functional, with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →God, this is dreadful, I can't imagine playing this for any reason other than nostalgia, and I feel like most people who have reviewed this game haven't played beyond Chapter 2 because they enjoyed the game as a kid, and wanted a bit of a nostalgic kick. The game honestly starts out pretty cool and I was quite impressed to start with; I like the atmosphere and the idea of the bounty hunting gimmick, as well as the verticality that gets introduced once Jango gets his jetpack. It was around…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun to play through for nostalgia, but there's a bug in chapter 4 mission 2 where Zam stops in the doorway and there's no way for you to get past her. there's an enemy on the other side of the door so she just stops moving directly in the center of the doorway unless you can somehow kill the enemy around the corner with splash damage. she's the only one that can open the door, and unless you get lucky, this is the end of the game progression for you. very annoying. restarting mission/ dying…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never played the original, so no nostalgia glasses here; I enjoyed the game. It has interesting level design which gets challenging at times and does a good job immersing you as Jango Fett, with all of his various weapons and equipment, as well as Morrison providing the voice. The controls are a little odd, but once you get used to them it's not bad. Only real downside is once you finish the story (which took me about 14 hours) there isn't much else to do unless you want to go back and get all…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the most underrated gems in the galaxy, and still a blast 2+ decades later. Originally a GameCube-era tie-in to Attack of the Clones, this game outshines the film it was connected to with a far better story, a cooler lead in Jango Fett, and surprisingly engaging gameplay. The controls are a bit wonky at first, and the camera can be a pain, but once you adjust, the auto-aim makes blasting your way through each level genuinely fun. Some early maps are a slog, and the boss fights…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game could have been good if this remaster did its job and fixed its flaws. It's jank -you can't rebind controls -you can't load game from checkpoints if you exit the game, only from the beginning of the level -The Zam Door bug in level 11 isn't fixed (had to redo all the bounty captures again) -The enemies are sponges who don't react to your blasters -No way to switch to a desired weapon instanly via hotkey, you need to cycle through mouse wheel - Mission 2 in Chapter 4 has several…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bounty hunter is a faithful remaster of the original, though mostly uplifting the textures, resolutions and availability of the game. For pretense, I enjoyed this game, jank and all. On sale, I'd say it's worth the buy if you want to try it. Otherwise, it's mostly the original game. This means it has all the same good, bad and ugly of the original as well: - The enemies: They're fine to start, but will become bullet sponges down the line... While also increasing their numbers, this means most…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very beautifully crafted hd remaster in visual department. I did even enjoyed gameplay improvements with controlling your character. The journey started as expected slowly dragging you later on into mash pit of never ending bullet dodging cr*p. What this game preserves its authentic feel and vibes of old classic Star wars universe. You do feel like bounty hunter that will not stop until the job is done. The problems with this game its that after chapter 2 it becomes not fun to play.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gave it a fair shot and may still go back and finish it, but if I do it will be a "throw good time after bad" sort of situation. Were it not for the 5 restarts/level and extended length of some of the later levels, it'd be a neat janky star wars game that I didn't get to play when I was younger. I agonized for a while over how to review this, but after running into a boss that just didn't seem to be interesting or fun to fight and losing about an hour of progress? I don't thumbs-up games…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another Aspyr remake that gives us the bare minimum hmmmm yes but this time no multiplayer so no reason to complain. Man, I miss this era of the Clone Wars multimedia Project. The game hasn't aged well, NPCs spout the same lines on repeat but damn, it's cool to play a character like this. Note to self: I would have preferred playing Durge
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aspyr did make this available on pc, but didn't really do anything to make it *playable* on pc, certainly not with mouse and keyboard. Controlling Jango does not feel good, you can't rebind keys, and weapons can only be switched with next/prev - but the set of weapons you have available constantly changes, so you can't even develop muscle memory for where they are in order. The bounty hunting mechanic is interesting in theory but there isn't really much incentive to do the optional bounties,…

neutral · AI labelView post →Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is a really cool old-school Star Wars game because it lets you play as Jango Fett in a dark and interesting story. The gameplay is simple but fun, and the atmosphere feels very classic. It’s a great choice if you like older Star Wars games and want something with that early-2000s charm.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is an awful remaster. Don't get swayed by the positive reviews. There are tons of issues with the gameplay that could have been fixed at least to some degree. Story and cutscenes are great but you can check those without playing the game. The issue is: 1. You have checkpoints far in between game segments. What is worse is that those are not save points. On chapter 3, I played for more than 30 minutes before I needed to step away, to realize that I need to redo the whole segment. This is…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game did not age well at all. Which is a shame cause it's one I always wanted to play when I was younger. Gunplay was a pain, the platforming not particularly fun, mission difficulty was overly insane especially on later levels, and the story is just sort of ok. If you have a lot of nostalgia for this game, you'll probably enjoy revisiting it, but I don't see a lot in this one. It had a lot of potential, but just feels very unpolished.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I give this game a positive review because I DID enjoy the game, but this game is crazy janky and this port kinda sucks. The game gets so progressively worse going for 100% too. Honestly as a remaster this was "pretty good" but tbh they could've done more. If anything I wish they would either fully remake the game (and I HATE remakes of games I like) or just give us another bounty hunter game. Like seriously, Boba Fett is enough to sell a game, the fact they haven't given this concept a revist…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Age-related jank aside the controls are just awkward. Want to find bounties? Hit a button or scroll to the scanner, awkwardly scan 20 npcs, find nothing, then instead of just hitting the scan button again to go back to what you were using you have to hit another button, or scroll manually back to it. Did you find a bounty? Cool, now you have to scroll to a different tool to capture them and hope they don't run off a cliff in the meantime. You also have the general accuracy of a memeable…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good remaster of an overlooked classic. But there’s a big reason it’s overlooked… Positives: The story is pretty great. If you’re a Star Wars fan, it’s a treat in that regard. Bounty hunting during missions is honestly a pretty neat mechanic, you never know who’s wanted dead or alive in a room. Graphics look decent for the time, and being able to play this without the missing textures that happened often during emulation. Gun play is decent, if a bit mindless. You can go through most of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good story and some really cool moments but overall this is a pretty bad experience. Levels are confusing, enemies are bland, huge difficulty spikes and controls are often annoying. There are places where enemies spawn indefinitely, but bounties you are supposed to hunt do not spawn at all or drop from the map. Proper remake of this game could be awesome, but this game is pretty exhausting. If you really want to try maybe get some mods or cheats to ease up the pain. Haven't got any crashes or…
