Players praise the game's relaxing, charming hidden-object formula with cute cats and pop culture references. [4][5][6] A few players report issues like repetitive rooms, bugs, or use of generative AI in the soundtrack. [7][8][9]

More Cats, More Details, Same Relaxing Formula By now, Devcats has established a formula that I appreciate. Their games are simple, relaxing, charming, and perfect for spending a few stress-free hours searching for hidden cats. A Building Full of Cats 2 continues that tradition while introducing a number of small additions that enrich the experience without altering the core formula that made all Devcat's games so …

Ok seriously: This game is GREAT. My 6 year old daughter loves spending time finding cats, secrets, solving puzzles, playing the mini games etc. And I love all the TV, films, video games, rpgs, comics, nerdy stuff and pop culture references. But all these were not enough to make me leave a positive review. :SPOILER ALERT: And then my daughter entered the Black Metal guy's apartment. If devs read this let me say I …

TLDR: Fun room themes and clever pop culture references are awesome, but the formula growing a bit stale. PROS: ➕Lots of pop culture/gaming references ➕Music ➕Room themes ➕Cats CONS: ➖Hidden cats = clickfest ➖Not as colorful/vibrant as SFoC ➖Crash to desktop count = 1 ➖Finding non-cat objects can be annoying My other reviews here for the “Full of Cats” games - …

It's a solid Devcats game, but it felt like one of the weakest in the series. The rooms are quite repetitive, and the mini-games seemed a bit out of place.

I love all games in this series! I love finding cute cats, but to be honest not really a big fan of the color schemes in some room, a bit eyesore! Nevertheless that's just a small setback, overall still fun and super relaxing to play if you're into object finding games, there are interesting side quests and tasks as well for a change. Achievements are also easy to complete. Sometimes things are very small and can be …

95% of the 187 Steam reviewers we collected recommend A Building Full of Cats 2. The complaint that keeps coming up: some rooms feel repetitive or have eye-straining color schemes. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

neutral · AI labelView post →Ive always bought and had fun playing Devcats games, and I love the idea that the money is helping real cats, but I genuinely might have to stop. I cannot begin to express how disappointed I am to hear such a blatant use of generative AI for the "Stay Alive" cat parody song. It genuinely did not need to be there, and it calls into question for me how much of this soundtrack, or even this game entirely, that was made using generative AI. I also can't help but notice that nowhere on the store…

Who wouldn't run their doors when hearing that there is a whole building filled with cats?! I'd be the first to stand in line to get inside. Heading through the first door, little Fofino awaits, invites us in and welcomes us warmly into this humble building. As is often the case, some issues await us to be solved. I like the mini games, it's always a fun distraction after spotting so many cats in a row.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this series so, so much. The game itself is very enjoyable, and they support a great cause. It's cozy all around. That being said, no other game from the full of cats series has been this buggy for me. I am actually sad, because it's making it unplayable for me. I would complete a room, go into another room, and be greeted by a gray screen. Any attempts to leave the grey screen just crashed the game. It could just be my computer somehow? But I can't see how a point and click game…

positive · AI labelView post →I don't know how to feel, honestly. As in, is this my new favourite entry in the series above A Tower Full of Cats? This sequel to the first Building Full of Cats is amazing. Improves on the original in every single way. The expressions of the cats, the art, the messages, and we even see some human characters this time around. Sure, some of the story is a bit cheesy, but that's part of the Devcats charm. In the original title, I criticised the lack of an ability to zoom in and out (or at least…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a cosy sweet and lovely game! I love all the cats and the puzzles, they have improved greatly from the first game. Devcat games are just the best <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely an upgrade from the first game! Though I enjoyed both pretty much, I enjoyed the character and room designs in this one! I enjoyed all the little details and references to real people, games, music etc. :3 It was a good game to relax, and for achievement enthusiasts like me, it was nice to play through. The fact that games like these are inspired by real cats makes it so much better, plus you basically play it for a good cause of helping some little kitties. As a cat lover, it was…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another cute hidden cats game from Devcats. Lots of pop culture and gaming references throughout. Several mini games to spice things up. I enjoyed it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think I've played all of the Devcats games at this point. Each game gets continually better than the last one, and Building 2 may be my favorite. Each apartment/level is completely different from the last, which makes the whole playthrough always new, and each one has a little sidequest to give it a kind of separate life. The mechanics are the same as in any other Devcats game, and these are some of the best hidden object games out there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Those cat games are so cute and relaxing. Love it. Keep up the good work. And it's so cute that there are real cats there. Lily's story was also so cute. If she is still with you, give her a hug from me <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a solid Devcats game, but it felt like one of the weakest in the series. The rooms are quite repetitive, and the mini-games seemed a bit out of place.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love every game in this series. In most scenes there will be the hidden cats "out in the open," and then a few where you have to click on items for them to "pop out." Not everyone might like that feature, but you really start to get a feel for most of the likely spots, especially if you've played any of the recent games. I love the themes of all the different apartments and the music changes. Totally recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →14. A Building Full of Cats 2 Listen man I just love these "find the cat" games, idk what to tell you, it's like doing wordsearches or crosswords, just chill vibes. Love the references too.
positive · AI labelView post →Always love the Devcats games, super cute art, very detailed and fun, excited for more to come <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I will ALWAYS recommend any of DevCats's amazing games - and their games are the only ones I ever buy full price (no bundles) because 1) their games are extremely affordable and addictive, and 2) profits from their games go to helping cats in real life. Their "Full of Cats" series always find a way to make me smile just from the pure cuteness, make me relax from the simplicity of the game, make me sweat a bit when I'm hunting down the last 1-2 cats or quest items, make my heart melt or my…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay Genre: Seek-and-find Story Genre: I mean, kind of sort of mystery during one part at the end? Story/Gameplay Ratio: 1:5 **Gameplay** Ideas: 3/10 | Seek-and-finds aren't very interesting, and they've been done a million times before. However, I do like the addition of minigames a lot in terms of breaking up the monotony of it. Execution: 8/10 | In the end, it *is* just a seek-and-find, but I also *did* finish it, so that tells you something about how well it's put together. It's chill,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →all of the devcats games that i've played have brought me to tears. i love every single one of them and the messages that they convey. this game has a crazy amount of content and even some "minigames" that i wasn't expecting. i got almost all of their games on sale and now that i'm going through each of them, i wish i'd purchased them at full price, just so i could show some more support to their amazing (and adorable) team! 10/10. i wish i could wipe my memory and replay their games all…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best, if not the best, games from Devcats, who once again prove they're the masters of the genre. Absolute pleasure to play, stunningly detailed and varied pics (Wish Note alone is a piece of art, and it's just a side quest!), lovely soundtrack, TONS of references and Easter eggs. Loved it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall 9.5/10 experience, points taken down for the insufferably hard rhythm section as, despite my best efforts, it is yet to be conquered. Same cutesy art style, adorable references to popular culture, a lot of care and effort in the scenes. If you are here for 'find a hidden object' experience - it is a perfect game for you. Support the cats!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the price you pay very worth a try if you like games of a similar type or like cats. I have purchased games from this series before and have never been found wanting. A simple gameplay loop. Challenging but not frustrating due to the hints being frequently available if you can't find something on the level. A very cute art style and plenty of references to the subject of the level which adds some nice detail. Ends on a sweet note too and part of the proceeds go to supporting cats. A…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The black metal and more esoteric game references were nice. The rest? Not so much. Not only has the educational aspect gotten extremely preachy to the point of coming across as treating the player like an infantile idiot, but between the regurgitated theming and utter lack of mechanic creativity, it really makes you wonder what happened. The original Building Full of Cats had superior atmosphere, while Castle Full of Cats was significantly better designed in every regard. Is there more to do…

I love the "full of cats" series and other devcat games, and this is their best one yet by far!! It has the same cat finding but with so many more rooms, special scenes, Extra animation and characters and really fun minigames that spice things up in ways they haven't done before! positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm only 30 minutes into the game and I have to say that the staff outdid themselves on this one! I just had to stop before finishing the first room to write this review. Not only is it cute like their other titles, but there is so many references to media and other things. Nezuko, Death Note, Puss in Boots, Stray, Crash Bandicoot, Metroid, and so much more. There's even a rhythm game and great music?! Like, what?? Definitely unexpected but super fun!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine this: you are playing a nice cozy little find and seek game with kitty cats in it. You are enjoying yourself as you find the little kitties when you see a little stylized kitty face that isn't part of a real cat but when you click on it, it counts! So then you click on the drawing of the kitty on the door. That one doesn't count... okay, fine. Then you click on the purse that is shaped like a cat. Nope, not that one either. Then you click on the little post-it note with the kitty on it.…
